A MHA setting-
I realized why I stopped watching and reading the mha manga and most fics in archive of our own. it's cause of the way midoriya's character is. you read almost all fic about midoriya and you will get frustrated and angry. so here's the idea:
age 4 ; didn't get a quirk but instead of crying and becoming a nervous wreck he decided to toughen up cause he taught he was the man of the house and he needed to protect his mom and become a hero naturally. so like any stubborn kid that decides on something and not being guided by elders he starts changing and learns to use his big brain to get every advantage he can, he uses his quriklessnes to great effect. when confronted by other kids he uses his knowledge to stump them and when confronted by his bullies he fights dirty and while he loses more than he wins he learns a lot. he starts working out and enrolls for fight classes. years later during the sludge villain incident instead of most quirkless fighter izuku he accepts OFA and with his better physical ability he manages to inherit OFA early and learns to get full cowl by the time of the entrance exam and just goes all Guts on the robots minus the sword.
that's precisely what I want to read -
A midoriya with the opposite attitude of his cannon self that has better control of his quirk and no respect for anyone other than a select few. a no nonsense, no fucks given guy that fights like the real manly legends like GUTS, KENGAN ASURA, PUNISHER and the like.
