Chapter 2467 - -2367- It'll work

To be honest, after his Magic Circuits began malfunctioning, Rozen had indeed once considered using the Holy Grail. \

He had planned to make a wish upon it, hoping to restore his Magic Circuits to their original state.

Although the Holy Grail's power had its limits, unless one sought a miracle on the level of Magic, it wasn't considered useless.

Rozen's problem was merely that his Magic Circuits had suffered from "overheating." With the power of the Holy Grail, recovery should have been relatively easy.

In fact, with such a vast supply of mana, he might have been able to not only heal but return to his peak state entirely.

But Rozen realized he had underestimated the situation.

True, the problem itself wasn't severe. Had it been someone else, the Holy Grail's power would have instantly restored them.

However, Rozen's Magic Circuits were anything but ordinary.

They had undergone a metamorphosis, driven by the influence of Foreign Mana, fused with the cosmic truth of Infinite Chain Reaction, giving birth to Magic Circuits of limitless potential.

Rozen's Magic Circuits had already surpassed the level of the Divine Realm.

With such a tier and scale, even the Holy Grail couldn't directly act upon them.

At best, it could function like what Roman had done—providing resources to nurture and heal the circuits, helping them recover more rapidly.

Thus, Rozen had given up on relying on the Holy Grail. He followed Roman's advice, using Chaldea's facilities, instruments, and resources to carefully tune and stabilize his circuits.

In this situation, even with the Holy Grail's power, Rozen's Magic Circuits couldn't be instantly restored—at most, their recovery would speed up, just like when he was at Chaldea.

In fact, the same applied to Gilgamesh.

Otherwise, why hadn't he simply used the Holy Grail's power on himself?

Hadn't he, too, suffered mana exhaustion from forcibly using Heroic Spirit summoning, damaging himself and falling out of condition—just like Rozen?

So why didn't he use the Holy Grail to recover?

Only one explanation: it couldn't be done.

After all, Gilgamesh was part human, part god—two-thirds divine. Wishing upon the Holy Grail to restore a divine body was no simple matter.

Therefore, for both Rozen and Gilgamesh, using the Holy Grail to fully return to peak condition was impossible.

On the other hand, Merlin might benefit considerably with the Holy Grail's help.

Looking at it that way, even if Gilgamesh handed over the Holy Grail, it wouldn't solve their problem—at least, not in terms of personal restoration.

However, that was assuming the Holy Grail was used on oneself.

If one merely regarded it as a mana resource, then it could accomplish much more.

Even if it didn't restore Rozen to his full power, the mana from the Holy Grail rivaled that of dragon veins.

With such immense mana, Rozen could easily summon hundreds of thousands of familiars, making up for Uruk's lack of military power to the greatest extent.

Thinking of this—

"...It'll work."

Lost in thought, Rozen murmured to himself.

"If I have the Holy Grail's mana, then when it comes to the rank-and-file soldiers of the Three Goddess Alliance, I can hold them all back."

As soon as those words left his lips, everyone's eyes lit up.

"Excellent!"

Gilgamesh gave a firm nod as well. He surveyed everyone present, stood up, raised a hand, and declared loudly:

"Then, I shall fully unlock the Vault of Babylon, making available all treasures within, including the Holy Grail, for use in this campaign!"

"The enemy is the army of the Three Goddess Alliance—monstrous beasts in the north, dragonkind and beastmen in the south, and undead legions lurking in the shadows! We face danger on all sides!"

"Now, I shall begin issuing orders!"

He then delivered a series of commands.

"Oda Nobunaga, you and Okita Soji are to return to the northern front to prepare for the assault by the Beast Goddess's army!"

"Ushiwakamaru, pair up with Benkei and head for the southern gate. I'll assign you 3,000 soldiers—you must hold that gate for me!"

"Merlin, you will remain in Uruk and deploy your garden. Now is not the time to conserve your mana. I will have the Ritual Grounds support you. With your illusions, even if the undead awaken at night, they should be unable to enter the city!"

"This battle will be fierce, but afterward, Chaldea's Magician will be able to provide ample reinforcements. Rely on that power and defend Uruk flawlessly!"

With these orders from Gilgamesh, the assembled Servants began to smile.

"Finally, a grand spectacle!"

Nobunaga laughed heartily.

"Too bad we're fighting magical beasts again,"

Okita muttered, slightly dissatisfied.

"I, Ushiwakamaru, will definitely hold the southern gate. Benkei, don't screw this up. I may have to use you as a shield at the crucial moment."

Ushiwakamaru said righteously.

"Ohh! It seems this monk has finally reached the point where death is inevitable! But, could we maybe reconsider the whole shield thing, Lady Ushiwakamaru!?"

Benkei cried out in protest.

And so, these four Servants took their assignments.

Then—

"Ah well, looks like I can't slip away this time. Still, working with the priestess at the Ritual Grounds doesn't sound too bad."

Merlin said lazily.

"Please refrain from any improper behavior, Mr. Merlin,"

Siduri warned him sternly.

Only Rozen, Mash, and Anna remained silent.

Because their role was already abundantly clear.

"This is one of the rarest treasures in this king's vault. Don't you dare lose it."

Gilgamesh opened his hand, summoning a golden ripple above it. From within descended a golden urn, which he caught with ease.

Without hesitation, he tossed the Holy Grail to Rozen.

Rozen caught the familiar golden urn, feeling the immense mana flowing within, and suddenly smiled.

"Senpai."

Mash looked at Rozen with a resolute expression.

"..."

Anna also gazed at him.

As for the people in Chaldea, watching this scene unfold, each of them had their own thoughts.

"So, the time of chaos is upon us?"

Olga Marie murmured.

"Let's hope they can hold back the Three Goddess Alliance's invasion."

Da Vinci said with hope.

"Rozen…"

Roman looked at his younger brother, his expression complicated and hard to describe.

And so—

The great war between Uruk and the Three Goddess Alliance had officially begun.
