Chapter 67 - The Beach (2)

"You were stabbed?" Auralia murmured softly, trying to process his words.

"Yeah, almost got my liver." Alexander explained. "Thankfully, I got surgery in time…"

Suddenly his reaction to the whole incident made a whole lot more sense to Auralia. She understood that anyone would be scared of someone wielding a knife, but to make her promise never to jump in even with her skills.

It was because he had been through the pain. Alexander knew what it was like to get stabbed and in such a dangerous place too. 

He didn't want her to experience the same thing and explained why he feared her dying if she got stabbed. Because he almost had. His reaction was a trauma response.

Then another thought came to her. Maria had come to her originally to protect Alexander after he had gotten surgery for something. She never said what the surgery was for and Auralia hadn't really asked for details on it.
