I grumbled as the sun hit my eyes. How late was it already? Don't tell me I'd slept in?
Sitting up, I glanced at the clock. It was almost midday! My shoulders slumped. Yesterday had drained me more than I thought.

I frowned at Dad's advice. Putting down a rebellion by force wasn't my style. Not because I lacked the conviction, but... it was too bloody.
Father sighed as he watched me ruminate over his words. "Like I said, it's up to you. I gave you my advice. It's up to you."
I stared at him. "Yeah, but... won't your method tear the kingdom apart more?"
He leaned back against his seat. "Indeed. But sometimes, blood must be spilled to return things to peace. Just hope it's the blood of your enemies and not yours."
I shivered. Dad was seen as a bit of a tyrannical figure, and while he was a strict and cold father, I didn't think he could be this cold...
