Once we were ready, we stepped out of our chamber and into the cool hallway. The castle felt quiet, the usual bustling sounds of servants and guards subdued. I hoped it was just the calm before the storm, not a sign of something worse.

Mia reached for my hand as we made our way toward the gardens. "You know, I've been thinking about the people too," she said, breaking the silence. "Maybe we can organize a town hall meeting or something. A way for you to hear their concerns directly."

I nodded, appreciating her ideas. "That could work. If I can show them I'm willing to listen, maybe they'll feel more inclined to trust me."

"And if they trust you, they might be more hesitant to resort to violence. It's a start, Orlin."

"Right. A start." I sighed, looking down at the old brick floor. "I just hope it's enough."

She sighed, holding my hand tightly. Mia didn't say another word, instead, she hurried her pace, yanking me along.

"Mia!" I exclaimed, trying to keep up with her.
