Gael PoV
[Present]
Great-gramps chuckled. "You seem as nostalgic as me now, Gael."
"Huh?" I said, shaking my head.
"For a second, you seemed to be reminiscing." He vanished and reappered behind me. "But now isn't the time to think of the past."
I leapt back and blocked his attack, my heart racing. "What do you mean by that?" I asked, trying to catch my breath as I regained my footing.
"Focus on the present, Gael! We have a challenge ahead of us!" he said, his voice firm yet encouraging. He pivoted, readying himself for another strike. "You've got to be sharp. Don't let your mind wander! That's a lesson I learned when I was around your son's age from my own father.
"Wait, you sparred with your dad when you were five? Wow, things were really hardcore a thousand years ago. We didn't spar with you until we were a bit older than that."
