Wolfgango's expression faltered for a moment, the flicker of uncertainty revealing itself beneath his bravado. "You think your stubbornness will save you?" he spat, slashing his scythe down again in a wide arc, aiming to cleave through my defenses.
I barely managed to deflect the blow, the impact sending shockwaves through my body. "Stubbornness is all I have left!" I shouted back, pushing against him with renewed vigor. The shadows at my feet surged upward, coiling around his scythe in an attempt to bind it.
He laughed, but there was an edge of desperation in his voice. "You're grasping at straws, Lorenzo! These shadows can't protect you forever!"
I felt my heart race, the adrenaline coursing through me as I fought to maintain control. "Maybe not forever, but long enough!"
