"That's not what I meant." Joanna Lawrence pinched his cheek and smiled, "I'm not familiar with her; why would you bring her here?"
"Then let's not talk about her." Ashton Heath really didn't have a good impression of Wendy Arden, "Let's eat."
He glanced at the untouched food on the table and gently pinched her nose, "Didn't I tell you not to wait for me?"
"I'm not that hungry, so I waited for you to eat together. Eating alone is no fun."
The two of them spoke intimately as they leaned in close.
Joanna suddenly sensed a resentful gaze coming her way. Startled, she turned her head and saw Wendy Arden standing a few tables away in the corridor.
Wendy Arden's eyes were red and swollen, with half of her face swollen as well. Her eyes, filled with tears, glared at Joanna with deep resentment.
The moment their gazes met, the resentment in Wendy's eyes deepened even further, as if she were looking at a mortal enemy.
