The two of them returned to the hospital.
Joanna calculated the time, by now, Jeremy should have woken up.
Ashton led her to the door outside the hospital room.
The door of the hospital room was ajar, not completely closed. Just as Joanna was about to reach out and push it open, she heard a girl's voice coming from inside the room.
"Jeremy, how do you feel now? Are you thirsty? Do you want me to pour you some water?"
The girl's voice was soft and tender, a lovely, youthful sound.
Joanna paused, slowly retracting the hand that was about to push the door.
Was this... Regina Kelloway's voice?
Another voice sounded from inside the room, it was Jeremy speaking.
His voice was still somewhat weak and raspy: "I'm fine, don't worry. Regina, when did you get here?"
"I just arrived a little while ago."
As she had suspected, it was Regina.
