Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

In the capital of the Rynberg empire, royal academy Polaris.

In a room that lacked ornaments of luxury, darkness crept in as a short silver haired boy slept. His pillow was soaked, wet hair clung to his forehead. His arms twisted and legs kicking as he turned murmuring constantly. Within his mind he relived a scene, when or where it originated from he had no clue. Every night since the quaking he would have this nightmare.

In it lay a burning city in the distance, winds ran rampant wafting the burning smell of flesh, it was choking, the disgusting air tasted burnt. Just by breathing it he felt like a cannibal. He looked into the distance near the city gates holding his stomach as to not hurl his guts. He could not fathom the massacre inside the city.

Two men stood staring at one another, a silver haired man like himself and another that had pitch black hair, it blackness had no luster as if absorbing everything that dared to touch it. The man's black eyes stared into the silvered man's eyes who despite wanting to return his gaze found himself lacking often averting his gaze.

The overwhelming silence swallowed the silver haired man who finally mustered the courage to speak. " What did you do!? Tell me!? What did they do deserve such cruelty?" His voice was breaking shaking, he was angry and most of all afraid as he stared his eyes letting out a glimmer that tore into the city, immediately the man vomited, his guts retching.

He had to forcefully stop himself as he almost surged his aura nearly injuring himself in his rage. He immediately drew his sword, its radiant sun luster brought comfort to the howling winds. " Demon! What have you done?!!" He let out a bellow like a mournful dragon as he stared with overwhelming hatred, the black haired before him. He wanted at that moment to kill this demon that stood before him. Parading in human skin. " Do you not feel regret? Pain? Did their cries not cause an ounce of mercy? Tell me!! Their deaths will bring suffering onto families!" The silver haired man raged.

" Pain?" A hollow voice asked in turn, a decrepit smile he flashed. " Where are they? I will put them out of their misery." The black haired man genuinely inquired. To him it death was mercy, since he could not grant this mercy upon himself he wound grant it onto others. It was a chaos of logic that rattled the mind. His black eyes did not skip a beat at the silver haired man's enraged screams.

The silver haired boy onlooking had almost lost himself in the chaos of emotions.

' My pain? When was the last time I felt true pain, its been a long time. ' The black haired man pondered. He sighed .

" I will kill them; your parents, friends, lovers and your people. The only sad truth about it is that I only get to do it once. "

" I thought we were brothers? Stop this or I will be forced to kill you. Allow me to save you. " The silver haired man said, his eyes gleaming with truth and loss. It truly devastated him.

" Save me? You.." Pointing at the foe then himself, "save me...Hahaha.." A roar of laughter escaped the black haired man, " Are you serious? Boy there is no one in this world who cam stop me. Not Linnaeus, Edward or you. You exist because of me, don't forget that!"

The two men stood before the city that had all its people, corpses bound by ropes to tall wooden poles that burned extinguishing by fire the lives of 17 million people. No one was spared in the madness of the black haired man, burnt flesh hung loosely on skeleton charred by abyssal fire.

Like every other time the silver haired boy, Alex awoke screaming in terror, he had seen the dream or vision more times than he could count but it terrified him every time.

Meanwhile in the Arneth dungeon.

" Who is the owner of this labyrinth really?" Rose couldn't help but ask herself. She felt the urge to rip however it was to shreds. Traps and domain monsters blocked her at every turn that it had gotten irritating killing these small fries. She swore to repay whoever it was in kind.

More than the anger she felt curiosity in regards to this mystery grandmaster magician. The creature before her was incomplete but she could tell and feel in her bloodline that it had some incomplete vampiric abilities.

The blood connection was not stable but they had relation. " Who made you?" Rose asked as her fangs grew out and a blood aura crushed the monster forcing it to kneel. It was bloodline suppression, monsters with highly pure bloodlines could control and restrain those of lower purity bloodlines.

" Gggrrrwl." The creature roared, it was similar in height to the average human but 2 pairs of hands stuck to its torso.

BANG! BANG!

The hands struck the ground causing a crater as it tried resisting the blood suppression, blood lances quickly shot at Rose from the monster corpses as they as if reanimated stood latching their eyes onto her figure but their bodies were drained of blood. Ribs exposed as the skin ruptured from adhering to bones, a mix of goblins, kobolds and gray volcanic wolves. The numbered at least 2000 with each being a chimera.

Rose held up her hand as she stopped the lances mid air, then they bubbled releasing black smoke as the lances turned even more crimson. " This is how you use blood manipulation!" She roared as leaned forward like a pitcher, she fired the lances at the suppressed monster.

Feeling the looming danger the monster roared, corpses rushed forward in its defense while it struggled to stand up, the blood dominance had reduced in effect. " Rooar!" with high pitch as it lunged forward running behind the army of monster corpses. The sound wave hit Rose attempting ward off the lances, Rose morphed as batlike lifted her high above the ground, gathering large amounts of mana, she aimed at the dungeon boss. " Blood manipulation; Blood chains!" Like a spider web the ground parted as chains of blood shot out trying to bind monster, it ran amok hiding amongst its army of corpses. Rose's vampiric nose found it instantly as chains bound its heels, it fell with other chains restricting its arms. Rose ignored the monster corpses.

It was apparent it had no intelligence however it desired Rose, to grow stronger it had to eat her, so spikes formed on top of its crimson fur like a porcupine as they hurled towards her. A semi circle shield of blood made of hexagonal shapes protected her as flew down floating above the monster, flicking her hand faster than the eye could see nail extended clawing into the monster as she pulled out two beating hearts, red and black blood sullied her hand. " Disgusting." She spat.

Withdrawing her hand a blade made of blood decapitated the head of the monster.

" Well that's that I guess, this bastard better not have anymore traps ahead." She waves her hand as noticed that her overwhelming aura had gone down, if it was at peak master blood warrior when she entered the Arneth dungeon it was now at early blood warrior level.

" I better hurry up. Drop of rebirth can only sustain me for so long." she said as she disappeared into the shadows towards the inner section of the labyrinth.

At the silver sparrow inn..

Nathaniel sat on the bed before were the three spell scrolls. Unfolding the first one, he read it for about half an hour before placing it down. " So it heals by gathering light elementals mana particles into petals of a tree although the healing effect is only as potent as your affinity and proficiency. Well that sucks!" Nathaniel exclaimed as he leaned back staring at the ceiling.

It was a good support spell the problem was that he had little affinity for the light element but light spells were the most expensive so it was worth a lot. Picking up static domain, Nathaniel smiled in glee, the cold magical radiating off of it hinted it was an ice elemental spell.

" Static domain; freezes anything within a 10 meter radius around the caster. A simplified version of Glacial world. Capable of imprisoning enemies so long as the caster has sufficient mana." Nathaniel read, the more he read the more excited he became. It was a great AoE spell capable of offence, defense and support in massive battles.

Looking at the parallel mind spell, one thought came into mind. Double casting the ultimate form of magic casting. One could cast spells that amplify one another and totally disregarding rapid spell casting. Not many mages could perform rapid spell casting and fewer could do so while double casting. Triple casting of course to him was but a dream, forget about quadruple casting.

Taking the parallel mind spell he chose to learn it first.
