"Adrian Desmond, if you die, I'll remarry immediately!"
It was not a joke. She said it with complete seriousness!
True love is companionship, long-lasting companionship. If a man can't even give me this kind of commitment, how can he claim to love me? Since he doesn't love me, why should I wait for him for the rest of my long life?
The alarm on the machine started to beep. It indicated that Adrian Desmond's heart rate had exceeded the normal range; he had reacted to Sienna Johnson's words.
The doctor was delighted. "Great, there's a reaction," he said to Sienna Johnson. "Keep talking... It seems your husband cares about you a lot. Try to provoke him more and stimulate his will to live."
Sienna Johnson, however, remained cold-faced, sitting there without uttering another word.
Few words were needed. Just that one sentence was enough. If he heard her, that was for the best; if he didn't, she wouldn't force it.
