So far, the Black Snake of Defamation has shown five abilities.
"Mask of Malice," "Absorption of Malice," "Killing Intent Shock," "Rapid Regeneration," and "Dark Warp."
The last four abilities all require a charge of malice stored in its cysts.
The Black snake has nine cysts, which means it has enough fuel to use those four skills multiple times.
But once a cyst is emptied, it turns transparent—and becomes fragile, easy to destroy.
That's exactly how Germain managed to break two of them, leaving the snake with only seven doses of malice and weakening it further.
The Black snake clearly realized what Germain was trying to do.
After slamming Germain into the swampy mud, it raised most of its body upright, staring down at him with its vertical pupils.
Meanwhile, its tail lazily swayed over the spot where Germain had fallen.
Its plan was simple.
Like playing whack-a-mole, every time Germain tried to crawl out of the mud, it would smack him back in with its tail.
This way, the snake could keep the upper hand and slowly grind Germain down until he was finished.
But then, something happened that it didn't expect.
It sensed a powerful surge of Nen—like a tower rising straight up from the swamp's depths.
At first, it thought it was Germain, so it prepared to lash out with its tail.
But when a pair of furry, razor-sharp claws tore through the surface of the mud—
It instantly knew it had made a mistake.
The Chaos Roar burst out from the sludge with a deafening howl!
It looked like a giant skeleton draped in long, pitch-black fur — a monstrous figure pulsing with life and menace.
The Black Snake of Defamation lashed its tail down, but the Chaos Roar caught it mid-air with razor-sharp claws.
Its talons pierced through the snake's scales with deadly precision.
The black snake hissed in agony.
The roaring beast tightened its grip and brought down its other claw, using both to try and tear the tail apart!
The black snake couldn't afford to hesitate — it shrieked sharply in response!
"Kill Intent Shock!"
The Chaos Roar was hit by the mental onslaught. It nearly buckled from the force.
But it held firm through sheer willpower — and countered with its own roar!
"Chaos Roar!"
Two devastating Nen blasts — different in form, but equal in raw destructive power — collided in midair with a thunderous boom.
The shockwave kicked up a violent windstorm.
Even the pouring rain was swept aside, leaving the battlefield dry for a fleeting moment.
As the Chaos Roar and the black snake clashed in a brutal standoff, Germain emerged from the bubbling mud.
He shook off the mud clinging to his body and spared only a glance at the ongoing battle between the two beasts. Then he moved.
This was the scene he had wanted all along — the Chaos Roar holding off the black snake just long enough.
The snake's abilities were a real problem.
Its "Kill Intent Shock" could shatter a person's mind in a single hit.
Its "Rapid Regeneration" could heal any wound, no matter how severe.
And "Dark Warp" — that terrifying teleportation skill — let even a creature of that size vanish and reappear in an instant.
Germain couldn't allow the snake to keep using these powers unchecked.
While the two monsters raged against each other, he moved like a shadow behind the snake.
Then, as light as a mountain goat, he leapt onto its massive body, stepping on the gaps between raised scales as he climbed higher.
The black snake hadn't realized it yet — that damned human had climbed onto its body once again.
Germain shot forward like an arrow, racing along the snake's scales.
He sped past two of the cysts he had already destroyed earlier, arriving at the third and fourth.
The malice inside the transparent shells had already been drained — first by the earlier "Dark Warp," and now by "Killing Intent Shock."
This was their weakest moment.
From the spider-leg-like aura arms extending from his body, Germain took hold of his butcher's cleaver.
He raised it like a true butcher and slammed the rusty blade down hard on one of the transparent cysts.
Pop!
The cyst burst, releasing thick, disgusting fluid.
Germain didn't care. He had no time to be grossed out.
Right after destroying that cyst, he moved quickly to the next one.
The black snake hadn't activated "Malice Absorption" in time, so this one was also undefended.
Pop!
Another swing — the cyst burst just as easily, spraying pus everywhere!
Now, only five cyst segments remained on the black snake's body.
The black snake, finally snapping out of its standoff with the roaring beast, noticed Germain causing havoc on its back.
Furious, it twisted and thrashed violently, trying to fling Germain off.
But Germain clung to its scales like a stubborn insect, unmoving like a mountain.
With no better option, the snake had to burn another cyst's malice to activate "Dark Warp."
Whoosh!
The giant black snake beneath Germain vanished instantly. All he had in his hand was a scale he had managed to rip off.
Germain didn't flinch — he had already anticipated this move.
He was one step ahead again, having played this scene out in his mind before.
Like muscle memory, he gripped the Sacred Moonlight Sword, turned around—
And fired off a blast of aura cannon behind him!
BOOM—
A blast of aura, shining silver-white and moonlight blue, shot through the air toward the black snake that had torn through space and appeared right where expected.
The black snake had planned to catch Germain off guard—but to its surprise, the moment it used "Dark Warp" to arrive, it was hit by Germain's aura cannon instead!
Forced into a bad position, it let out a sharp screech and countered with a "Killing Intent Shock."
Boom—
A familiar explosion echoed.
Once again, it was a stalemate.
But this time, it was a deadlock between Germain and the snake.
Thinking about it carefully, the snake couldn't even remember how many times it had been forced to make a choice like this.
And that made it even more unwilling to accept the situation—
Because it meant this human had pushed it into a corner!
It had to disrupt the rhythm—
It couldn't let Germain stay in control any longer.
The black snake made its move.
It launched a two-pronged attack: "Mask of Malice" and "Tail Whip" targeted Germain at the same time.
At that moment, Germain was locked in a direct clash—his "Aura Cannon" against the snake's "Killing Intent Shock."
In this kind of head-on battle, it was clear—
He had no energy left to defend from other attacks.
"Mask of Malice" came from the left,
"Tail Whip" from the right,
Both aiming straight for Germain's back.
But—
Germain wasn't fighting alone.
ROAR—
A giant beast let out a furious roar,
First, it slashed through the "Mask of Malice" with one mighty claw,
Then, just in time, it grabbed the incoming snake's tail!
With a fierce twist of strength,
It threw the snake off balance—
And in that split second, Germain's "Aura Cannon" shattered the "Killing Intent Shock" into scattered energy!
