Chapter 1 - Finding something new?

Jonas Allenis was just going through his day from his daily morning routine of going to the town's bakery. Fresh-baked bread filled the bakery over the cake and cookie smells which were sweeter. It was a smell that many showed up just to get the smell in the morning before rushing to their routines. Jonas had to get some bread before going anywhere and with that he started to go to the bookstore before his job was to start at 9.

On the way out he noticed a tall man in a suit coming into the bakery at the same time he was coming out. He noticed him right away since not many wear a suit around this town, but his eyes flashed a lighter blue as if his eyes wanted to glow. He also felt that he had seen him before, although could not place it. Maybe somewhere he saw him at a glance before and continued with his day.

Throughout the day his mind kept thinking about the man with the bright eyes in the suit. Even though it flashed in his mind he did his work without stopping. He wrote down lists for his boss so they would have them later. Jonas made sure his boss was ready so they could start. It was not a bad job. It was being a ghost-writer for an older woman to her grandchildren and a widow writing to his brother overseas.

After helping compose the weekly letters he was on his way to a relaxing part of his day of a few errands around town. The first stop was a craft store to buy some glue for the neighbor that was building a doll's house. The next was going to get a few groceries for the lady down the street that had to stay inside, because some of her kids were sick from school. A few other things he had to do seemingly fast and normal.

He saw the tall man again going in the convenience store where he had to go too. He took a breath and went in thinking about who the person could be before asking around. He at first did not see him so he took a long sigh which sounded like he was exhausted.

He walks over to the counter after picking up a few items in the front, "Um, Mr. Adams? Do you know of the man in the suit that just appeared?" Mr. Adams looks down from the rim of his glasses, "No, but I did see him for a moment. He does look like someone was here before in the past, although I am not sure. Maybe his family lived here before and he is moving back?" Mr. Adams pushes his glasses back making it so he is not looking down his glasses anymore and cashing out whoever was next. Jonas then sighs again noticing that Mr. Adams was not listening anymore after cashing him out.

"I need to see if it really is true. I swear I feel like there is more to what was just said." Jonas glances back to see if the man was still around. Jonas heads back home hoping to find something in yearbooks or even something else around his house first.

Jonas finally returns home not seeing anything of the man in the suit. He puts down everything he had to carry and now sits in his cozy overly plush chair wondering what he should try to look for. "I can look through mom's old stuff since most of dad's stuff is there too." He sits in the chair a little longer resting a bit before going on with the search.

Going up the attic he takes out a large box which is marked Allenis family album. After moving the box and getting ready to get the next he sees another in the back. "What is this I thought this was the only stuff up here after mom and dad died." Getting the box down he goes back up to see if a medium size box is the last thing up there. "Wow, must be Gram's stuff then up here too since the initials are B.A." He moves the boxes to the living room and puts the medium box directly in the middle of the table so he can go into it last.

"Alright, hope to find something especially when mom and dad told me they always took photos from when I was little, hell they even have some pictures when they were little." He goes through each item and picture, finding something. He laughs at and cries at many things and notices nothing pointing to them knowing anything. Nothing from their childhood either from the looks of it, because that would be noteworthy.

"Are you serious!? There is nothing in my parent's things that holds any clues." He sighs and glances over to his Grandmother's box on the table. "I don't think there would be anything in here since the fire took many things, but I swear I have never seen this box before."

Jonas Slowly opens the box. The first thing he notices is a journal and a locket. And a few other random items he did not expect to find. He saw a photograph slipping through the journal's pages and turned it over to see a name on the back. "Timothy North 19, Brooke Adams 16." He looked closer and realized the guy in the photo looks like the man he saw in the suit. "What the hell is this? It is Grandmother and is this the guy's grandfather in this picture?" Jonas looks through different pictures and notices many with just the two and a few others from around town. As he was looking more, his head started to sting like a sharp poke from a knife.
