Kai Syaoran and Whiro met long ago when Whiro tried to possess a young Kai Syaoran who was at that time a simple weak wolf with barely any prospects for the future. Whiro failed to possess Kai Syaoran since at that time, Kai Syaoran barely had a soul.
The two began as enemies but over time, Whiro came to see the great potential that Kai Syaoran held and even the possibility that one day when Kai Syaoran became powerful enough, he would take action and kill the god.
Whiro submitted himself to Kai Syaoran. He did so begrudgingly but over time, Whiro grew to become Kai Syaoran's left hand.
The god understood that the little wolf was far more than he appeared and with time and countless revelations, this had been proved to be more than true. When Whiro later came to learn that the little wolf was in fact the Forever Absolute who had in the past terrified both gods and devils, Whiro was shaken and he gave up the last of his resistance towards the prospect of serving Kai Syaoran.
