Chapter 295 - A Thought

The crossbowman exhaled slowly, lowering his coffee cup to the wet asphalt with deliberate care.

The massive crossbow in his hands hummed with a low dangerous vibration as the lightning along its frame intensified. 

Threads of pure Mana coiled and tightened along the bowstring until they were no longer strands of light, but a single spear-shaped bolt, so dense with Mana it seemed to bend the rain around it.

His half-lidded gaze sharpened. The casual boredom melted away, replaced by a predator's precision.

A faint glow spread across his irises. It turned into runic circles spinning within his pupils as he activated a Hunter's sight designed to read more than flesh and bone of a Supernatural but their weaknesses. 

Through the storm, the skeletal giant was no longer just a shape. It had become a map of weaknesses in his eyes. He can see fractures in enchanted bone, pulses where the necrotic Mana gathered to reinforce the frame.

He muttered under his breath, "There you are…"
