Chapter 8 - Forty_ Eight hours

SLAYYERS CLAN

"Boss," Luca bowed before the man who was smoking, flipping through the pages of a thick book.

Casper looked up, his gaze sharp. He appeared to be in his early thirties, calm but deadly.

"Michelle has been fished out by the monster," Luca reported.

"And where is she now?" Casper asked, his voice low and measured.

"He… eliminated her," Luca replied.

Casper's fist clenched tightly in anger. Michelle was one of his best… bitches.

"Tighten my securities," Casper ordered. "I know he will come for war."

Luca bowed again and left the office.

Casper leaned back in his armchair, fingers steepled, thinking about how to eliminate Raymond. Their rivalry had lasted too long. Both were scheming, both hunting ways to destroy each other.

This is the quarter where you get to see all the men of the Wolf's Clan—the Male Outreach.

"She has nerve," Risky muttered to Stone, referring to Candy.

"She even spat on his shoes—imagine that," Risky chuckled, shaking his head. "I thought he was going to shoot her straight away. Never expected the slap… I was waiting for her throat to be sliced or a bullet to strike." He took a long drag from his cigarette.

"I wonder why he's still keeping her alive," Stone said, dropping his cigarette to the floor and crushing it under his shoe. He turned and walked away. Risky followed.

"Gosh… I haven't seen Diana all day. Did she go on a mission with Rose?" Risky asked, pausing mid-step.

"If you miss her, go check her at their own outreach," Stone suggested, continuing to walk.

"No way! She'll harass me," Risky snapped.

"She doesn't like you. Just give up," Stone said.

Risky glared at him. "You think I'm like you—heart filled with rocks? Your name even suits you. If you never find love, you'll die a bachelor!"

Stone just stared until Risky was out of sight.

Raymond sat with one leg crossed, chewing gum lazily.

"Boss," Dickson entered, not looking up.

"So… Dragon from the Eagle's Clan wants to form an alliance with me?" Raymond asked, a sly grin creeping onto his wickedly handsome face.

"Yes, boss. And I think he's for real now. The only hard-headed one is Casper," Dickson replied.

"Well, I'll try it out with him. He knows better than to mess with me. I'll start by trading something with him." Raymond's grin widened as he reached into his drawer, pulled out a lollipop, unwrapped it, and popped it into his mouth.

Candy woke with a pounding headache, her head feeling like it carried the weight of the world. Pain radiated from her cheeks, and her throat felt dry and raw.

"Water…" she whispered, her voice faint.

No water came. She tried again, louder. "Water!"

Voices echoed in the background. She struggled to sit up on the massive bed and rubbed her eyes, finally landing on two beautiful girls arguing.

"You wore my new bra the other day. Why can't I have this crop top, Diana?" Rose asked, frowning.

"Because I don't want to!" Diana barked.

"You always wear my stuff but don't let me wear yours… it's unfair," Rose complained. Diana rolled her eyes and snatched the crop top back.

"I want to look sexy for Stone. Why are you doing this to me? That crop top will make him notice me," Rose pouted.

"He doesn't even know you exist, bitch," Diana glared.

"I don't care! Boss will soon be mine. I love him and I'll do anything to have him," Rose said.

"In your dreams. The day he finds out you have feelings for him, you'll either die by his knife, dagger, or gunshot," Diana warned.

"I don't care…" Rose paused as Candy started coughing.

"She's awake," Diana muttered, rolling her eyes and turning away.

"Oh dear," Rose exclaimed, rushing a glass of water to Candy.

"Thank you," Candy said, sipping carefully. She returned the glass, still feeling groggy.

"For how many hours have I been sleeping?" she asked, remembering the slap Raymond had given her. The pain from that hit lingered—he was truly a monster.

"For over forty-eight hours," Rose replied, widening her eyes.
