Chapter 12 - Grady

A/N: I will probably be finishing a chapter a week. Sorry if it's slow. I don't have a lot of time to write. Hope you enjoy it! ;)

Biana's POV

I knocked on the front door and Sophie almost immediately answered the door with a tired expression.

"That was quick," she said as we went upstairs, "So what do you want to talk about?"

"Matchmaking packets!" I said.

"I already registered," Sophie said, "I thought I told you that."

"You already registered?! That's great! See you bye!"

"That's all you wanted to ask me?" she asked as I pulled out my home crystal.

"Well I was going to try to convince you to register but since you already did my mission is complete! Bye!" I stepped into the beam of light and sprinted to Fitz's room.

"Fitz! You want to believe what happened!" I practically yelled as I pushed open the doors.

"What?" he asked as I slowed to a stop.

"Sophie registered for a match!" I exclaimed. He got up from the chair and did this weird dance that got me laughing. He eventually stopped and Dad came into the room.

"Are you all good?" he asked peeking through the door. When we nodded he slipped back into the hallway.

"I take it that you're happy?" I asked.

"Yep!" he replied.

"Well see ya," I said as I left his room.

I smiled to myself as I went into my room. They were so oblivious it was so funny, especially since everyone else also knew it.

Sophie's POV

I hoped Biana wouldn't tell anyone but my hopes were diminished as I heard Fitz's thoughts enter my mind.

A/N Fitz is Italic, Sophie is underline

So you registered for a packet and decided you didn't need to tell me!?

Sorry. I was going to surprise you!

It's fine, I'm just kidding. So when did you register?

About....two weeks ago.

Okay. So should be coming in about... His transmissions stopped as he did the math.

In about two weeks.

Yep. Just try and not to tell anyone else, especially my parents Grady would freak out.

Got it. See you tomorrow!

Bye!

As I servered our connection I saw Grady walk in. Alone.

"So I know you don't want to talk about this but I'll eventually get to it anyway," He said cryptically.

"Talk about what?" I asked cautiously, not liking where I thought this conversation was heading.

"About..boys." I groaned and buried myself into the blankets until only my eyes were peeking out.

"I know you have a lot of amazing friends to choose from but I'm just here to..."

"I already decided," I interrupted, " I confessed a couple of days ago." I knew I shouldn't have said anything but I knew I couldn't stand this talk anymore.

"What are you doing here?" Edaline asked, her hair a tangled mess," I thought you were getting the healing cream?"

"Sorry," he mumbled as they both walked out of the room.

"Thanks," I said as they disappeared out of sight.

"You know he'll be back?" Sandor asked

"Yeah, hopefully, I can escape in time though."

He was about to respond when I saw someone else in the doorway.

"Hey Biana," I said as I got out of bed.

"You really need to work on your enthusiasm," she stated as we went downstairs.

When we arrived downstairs I saw Stina, Wylie, and Dex waiting for me in the living room.

"What's up?" I asked as Wylie pulled out a pathfinder.

"The council requested we go to the Seat of Eminence immediately. I think they are adding someone to the group."

"Huh, I thought they said they wouldn't be adding anyone else," I said aloud as we formed a circle and lept away.

We hurriedly walked inside the building, not wanting to be late. When we got into the dim room I saw the councilors were already there.

"Next time let's work on being on early," said Emery. It was hard to tell who was what counselor was who because they all had the same halo of white light.

Suddenly I saw a bright blue light (a telepath's color)flare up behind us. I turned around and saw Fitz standing by Alden, both of them looking uncertain about why they were there.

"Since some of us need to hurry we'll get straight to the point. We have decided to add Fitz Vacker to your group since we knew we were going to need strong telepaths in the future. That's all." With that, they pulled out their crystals and lept away.

"Well I'm going to check on my dad," Wylie said and left.

"See ya," Stina said as she stepped into the light.

"See you guys at Foxfire!" Dex said as he too stepped into the light.

"Your finally part of team Valiant!" yelled Biana.

"I know. You think they would have let me join a while ago," said Fitz.

"Sorry guys, Grady said I had to come back as soon as I was done. Bye!" I stepped into the path and let the light carry me away.

Fitz's POV

I was so excited about this opportunity! I was officially part of the nobility! After forcing Biana several times to call me Lord, mom came into the room and said lunch was ready. I dashed downstairs, hoping to have enough time to get Sophie another present.

"The food won't disappear," Biana remarked as I scarfed down the last bits of food on my plate. I ignored her and got my pathfinder.

"I'm going to Atlantis! See you in a bit," I said. Mom and dad had been more lenient about where I went since the defeat of the Neverseen. After taking the tornado down I hurriedly went down to the jeweler. I had crossed paths with him once and he always gave me a discount.

I looked around quickly, hoping Biana hadn't followed me. Finally, I found what I was looking for and bought it. I went back home, wrapped it up, and then lept to Havenfield. When I arrived I saw Sophie near Calla's panakes tree, cuddling with the alicorn twins. I walked over to her and sat down next to her.

"Oh, hey Fitz," she said nervously. I smiled at her as I brought out the box.

"Here you go," I said, handing it to her. She opened it and turned cherry red. Then a shadow loomed over us. It was Grady.

"I think we have a lot to talk about," he said, his voice icy cold.
