Chapter 154 - A Single Drop of Poison (153)

On their way back, they talked about everything they had seen so far. Then, Aeron suddenly had an idea. " You know since your meeting is over, we could go back to exploring the Primara Nation. "

Starfania's eyes lit up at the suggestion.

"Really? You think we could?" she asked, a hint of excitement creeping into her voice. Aeron nodded enthusiastically, his navy green hair falling into his eyes. "Absolutely! There's so much more to see. We barely scratched the surface."

Vi chimed in, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. "Remember that market we passed? I bet there are hidden treasures just waiting for us!"

Starfania felt the weight of her earlier frustrations lift. The thought of wandering through the vibrant stalls, tasting exotic foods, and meeting new people was tempting.

"Alright, let's do it!" she replied, her spirits soaring. They quickly changed direction, the earlier shadows of war meetings forgotten. The streets were alive, filled with laughter and chatter. The smell of spices wafted through the air. Each step felt lighter than the last. As they approached the market, a colorful array of fabrics caught Starfania's eye.

"Look at those!" she gasped, pointing.

"We have to check those out!" Vi laughed, tugging on Starfania's sleeve. "Come on! Let's get lost in the colors!"

Aeron led the way, already scouting for the best stalls. The trio moved deeper into the heart of the market, eager for adventure and a little mischief. Every corner turned revealed something new—a street performer juggling, children laughing, and merchants calling out to passersby. Starfania felt alive, ready to soak it all in.

With excitement in their steps, they wandered through the Primara Nation, discovering its breathtaking beauty. The landscape was a masterpiece–rolling green fields, vibrant flowers blooming in every direction, a vast cerulean sky stretching above them, and towering mountains that framed the horizon. Everywhere they looked, dragons and villagers coexisted in perfect harmony, their bond woven into the fabric of this land. It was unlike anything they had ever seen before, a world that felt like a living fairytale. As they explored, taking in the wonders around them, Starfania felt a sense of peace she had known in a long time. But amid the beauty, a quiet ache settled deep within her.

Starfania was missing her father's Cesar, she felt empty without him being there to witness all of this. She wished, more than anything, that he could be here, walking beside her, sharing in these moments. Even if they had started growing more apart after everything that happened to them. Losing her mother and brother, as she watched him change from that childish person who would chase her around the castle. To a man who became cold and distant from those who tried to get closer, drowning himself in his own duty. Each step echoed her thoughts, amplifying the contrast between joy and sorrow. She paused, her gaze drifting to a distant peak, where the sun cast a golden hue, reminding her of childhood memories spent in laughter. In those days, their bond felt unbreakable. They would spend hours talking about their dreams, their laughter ringing out like music across the fields. But now, all she had were those memories, sweet yet bitter, wrapped in layers of grief.

As she observed the villagers tending to their daily tasks, she longed to experience that same connection with her father. It was hard to accept that time and tragedy had shifted their relationship. Every smile, every small moment seemed to slip away like grains of sand through her fingers. Yet amidst her longing, she could not ignore the wonder surrounding her. The way the dragons soared gracefully above, their wings catching the sunlight, brought a hint of a smile to her face. She watched as a young dragon playfully chased a butterfly, its joy infectious, tugging at her heartstrings. Perhaps there was still beauty to be found here, even in her aching heart. Determined to cherish the moment, she took a deep breath, breathing in the fragrant air filled with wildflowers. She would honor her father by finding joy in this new world, even if it felt like a challenge. It wouldn't be easy, but with each step forward, she felt him with her, guiding her through this beautiful pain, reminding her of the strength they once shared.
