Digesting the various emotions took a while before Ego was back to their chipper self; the appearance of the clear spirit water signified the change in their personality from the deep rage.
"How are you feeling," Null could not help but ask.
Ego took a second to mull over the question as the process really did have an impact on them, "Better."
From clear to red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, the presence they had changed, yet it was still within their control.
"I guess what I meant to say was how does it feel to control all of them? Aren't they all like gods or something?"
Ego seemed to understand what Null was getting at and spoke with a bit of confusion, "I'd say they are more like the purest form of existence and not the typical case of godhood. They were made by It and It is the strongest being in existence."
"Not if we have anything to say about it."
"You're right. Having these new emotions perfectly plugs into the Cosmic Structure which results in a complete system of power. That means that you can go back to using your emotion-based abilities with no hassle. Plus, we will get to utilize the purest forms of emotion to power them."
Null recalled how he tried to sense his emotions and work them in tandem with the energies to exhibit amazing feats.
The violent red beams, orange strong companionship, greedy yellow gold containment, navy blue tethers, violet propulsions, and pink petals of discouragement were all that he had created so far and just touched the surface of the depths of the Cosmic Structure.
"It's really something when you show off the melding colors one by one. It's like I can feel something within myself that resonates with changing color."
Null's gaze carried a longing sensation that Ego could not help but process as infatuation.
Their cheeks were tinged with a rosy tint, and they tersely responded, "From an outside perspective perhaps."
They saw colors gleaming in Null's right eye just as wonderous as their own, yet a blank space occupied his left eye as if something was missing.
The rose color soon grew to a deep red as Ego felt a presence they could not place before now.
"From an outside perspective," they repeated softly.
Null was confused as he was knocked out of a trance like state, "What?"
"There's something wrong with this whole ordeal— why Rage could pass through you so effortlessly while someone was always prepared for any situation."
They continued, this time wholly manifesting as Rage once more, "That motherfucker still resides in you!"
Without pause, Ego pressed their hands to Null's left eye and was absorbed into it.
"Ahh! What the hell," Null was taken aback by the sudden move, but as he sensed Ego, he saw them in his mind with a familiar figure in tow.
"You gotta be fucking kidding me."
Null then went into his mind space to see what excuse the old man would come up with.
Inside his mind space, Ego just stood there before the Creator as he sat with a booze bottle in his hand.
He did not sip from it; he just held it up to his nose and smelled a fragrant smell.
"So, are you going to say anything or should I just obliterate the remains of a decrepit old geezer from my body permanently?"
"Choose your words carefully, fallen Creator," Ego added in a low grumble.
The Creator simply set down the bottle and asked, "Do you want to know why I stayed?"
His words were spoken without the slightest bit of worry.
"Yeah. Why don't you start there," Null said.
"Well, I'm not going to say I regret letting you live instead of taking your place— I rather enjoyed tagging along for the journey— yet I still figured I had more to offer than a simple, 'Take care, I'll be on my way.'"
"I wanted to at least provide some guidance when it was truly needed on your part, but I was captivated by your experience and the way you utilized the Cosmic Authority to such a degree."
"I especially couldn't even believe it when you first brought this little one to life. What a miracle that was! Here they stand before me while I still hold part of their origin."
He gestured to the bottle that he was wafting into his nostrils and invited Ego to probe it.
Ego finally flickered in and out of their rageful state and observed the bottle carefully.
What they discovered was different than their spirit water; it was partially made up of spirit water but was more so a spirit liquor.
"What is it," Null asked.
"Just a little something I scrounged together while you were recollecting the sparse waters when you sank back into your mind cluelessly."
Ego sighed, "He means he collected some spirit water when I was in the process of being formed by you all that time ago."
"Yeah, I figured that much, but what's so special about the bottle?"
"Tch! I knew someone as unsophisticated as you wouldn't be able to understand. It's Ego, right? Care to indulge in an old man's creation?"
Ego snorted and took the bottle before taking a whiff.
As they did so, they burst into an array of colors!
The misty portion of Ego's dispersed body was mystifying and made Null return to his previous pondering state.
'It's more of a spectacle than a rainbow on its own. The colors are muddled together, yet they express more of an individual feeling despite being made of countless other parts.'
"Beautiful," he could not help but state.
The Creator could not help but gulp; he had seen this happen before and knew it did not bode well thanks to his interference.
Meanwhile, the parts of Ego that were still floating in the air reformed back into their shape only this time, they looked more feminine instead of the original Null.
They seemed influenced by his words and sought to dispel the feeling they were expressing at the moment as their body was turning completely rose colored.
"What did you just say," Ego's eyes were bigger, rounder, and softer after hearing him speak.
Null was once again taken aback by the state he was previously in.
"That's the feeling I had before I lost her."
Ego was still drunk off of the fumes and stayed in the state of rosy enthrallment.
"And what did you do next," Ego asked with a tone that implied that they knew the answer, but they wanted to get it from him.
Null was in a constant state of astounding; he did not know why the series of events were playing out as they were, but deep down, he knew something was up.
But still, he played along like he was wrapped around their finger.
He took his hand and softly grabbed their chin.
It was at this moment that he felt for the connection with the Cosmic Structure, his only saving grace.
Though faint, he knew that he could still connect to it as he was the one with Cosmic Authority in the end.
Very quickly, he felt the tons of emotions stored within a certain matrix of the structure and perceived a certain emotion acting out with a rose-colored glow.
He did not need an explanation of what emotion it was as he was in control of the structure and knew intrinsically what each part represented.
'Attraction, Love, and even... Arousal?'
The section pertaining to such emotions was without a doubt the reason for Ego's current circumstance, yet the trigger was undoubtedly related to the Creator's scheming self.
Taking a second to tap into the Cosmic Structure's emotion section, Null was able to light up more of it, in turn changing the emotional state of Ego.
As they were in his mind, Null was able to manipulate its appearance somewhat— sort of like how it was more chaotic and darker when the Creator first appeared.
The 'sky' grew darker and faint spots of light took form inside the darkness.
These were representations of the emotions Grief, Emptiness, Hope and Wonder.
The two opposites on both ends made for a stark contrast in feeling, yet they belonged amongst each other nonetheless.
Before Ego could react, Null pulled their head closer centimeter by centimeter prompting them to close their eyes.
Null suppressed a chuckle at the sight but drew closer still.
Very slightly, he pecked Ego's forehead for a moment, but in that moment, he added the pink energy of discouragement into their system.
Slowly but surely, the pink spread across their rosy figure and dulled the brightness of the color.
It was Ego's turn to be taken aback as the feelings subsided, and clarity filled their mind.
"Don't waste those emotions on me. Instead, I'll help you direct them into something more worthy of your time."
All Ego could do was nod as they returned clear but with cheeks flushed in Embarrassment.
Then, Null turned to the Creator who had a shit eating grin on his face as if he had eaten up the entire exchange.
"So, the fallen Creator still has jokes to play on innocent spirits? Should I really just exterminate a pest whose overstayed their welcome?"
"Believe me. I didn't know that was going to happen."
"Yet you knew something would happen."
The Creator could not escape under Null's persistent nature.
