Chapter 10 - Equipment Requirements

Thankfully, the town wasn't too big, and there were two blacksmiths. However, one was just too expensive for their tight budget. The second one, though, held a couple of familiar faces.

"Oh! Hello, sirs!" Selene gave a big smile when she saw their faces. "I was hoping to purchase some armor permanently this time."

The tall man gave her a surprised look that he quickly hid. He hadn't expected to ever meet the strange Noblewoman again. He thought she would take her victory and leave the fighting behind her or go to a wealthier blacksmith shop. As biased as he may be, he truly believed that his master was the best blacksmith there was!

"Ah, you." The short blacksmith hobbled out from the back, his hands and face covered in soot.

"Hello, Sir." She properly bowed to him, giving him a friendly smile.

He huffed but nodded his head.

"My Lady."

"Oh! Um... Please call me Selene... I'm not exactly close to my family..." She gave him a nervous smile.

He nodded.

"Alright, Selene. You need proper armor, for adventuring I take. All of you?" His calculating eyes scanned the four of them before landing on Amzi. "She's new."

"I am Amzi Lapi of the Zia Village, the Lady's main attendant and water mage." Her voice was hard, her blue eyes narrowed on his ember red eyes.

His mouth quirked. Lorenz had heard of Zia Village before. His grandmother would often talk about it, about how powerful their Chiefs were. She had said to earn a Lapi's undying trust was an honor for their loyalty knew no bounds. Even if times had changed, he was sure this type of loyalty hadn't changed. Not with the way Miss Lapi was glaring so threateningly at him.

"Understood." He turned his attention back to the young lady. "What level is your Strength and Attack stats? It would be helpful to see how heavy the armor and weapons need to be to be useful."

Selene nodded, her smile relaxing a little. Her eyes did move around the empty shop, unsure of something.

"Okay. Do we just say it out loud?"

The blacksmith chuckled and nodded.

"We blacksmiths are sworn by a sacred oath to say nothing of what you tell us. As long as you tell us the truth."

Selene sighed, relieved in a way. In her past life, she had heard somewhere that people often killed other people's characters if their levels were low enough. Of course, that was when games allowed it!

"My Strength is Level 21 with twenty extra points and my Attack is Level 22 and two extra points."

The blacksmith chuckled once more, he looked very amused.

"Quite low Strength for a Gaea." He teased.

The young lady rubbed the back of her neck, feeling a bit embarrassed about it. Was her family really that strong?

"Strength 35, twenty extra points, and Attack 36." Izzy stood strong; head tilted up.

"39 and 35." Clover murmured, keeping his head low.

"Strength 34, fifteen extra points and Attack 20. My Magic is Level 40."

The green-haired teen hummed in wonder. She had no idea that Amzi was that strong! It was a wonder! Especially seeing as she hadn't gone on any hunts before!

"Hmm... Good numbers. I have a few premade armors for the three of you," he motioned to the three servants, "however you're going to be needing brand new armor. One that specializes in Agility and Bow, correct?"

The young lady nodded.

"Yes, thank you. How long should I wait for it? Is there anything I can do to help?"

The man next to the head blacksmith scoffed, rolling his eyes. His boss smacked his back, just hard enough to make him grunt in a bit of pain.

"I have all the necessary materials. I only need to contact a Weaver."

"A weaver?" Selene took a step forward, interested in what he was going to say next. The countryside had plenty of seamstresses, and big cities would obviously have plenty of them as well... So, to specifically call for a weaver felt strange.

She wanted to know more about it.

He quirked an eyebrow, nodding. He sensed the curiosity within her, not like she was trying to hide it.

"Yes. I need a Weaver at least at Level 7, 8 would be most preferred."

Selene paused, tilting her head. She then cleared her throat, giving a nervous smile.

"Sir, I actually have the Weaving skill at Level 9."

The head blacksmith narrowed his eyes at her, though they mostly went to her calloused hands. Having a skill like weaving at such a level would leave marks.

"Do you know how to Enchant?"

She shook her head, her smile falling.

"What magic affinities do you have?"

"Um... Wind, Fire, Water, and Ice are the only types of magic I know... I mostly use Ice though?" The young noblewoman was confused by the questions. Wouldn't her not knowing how to Enchant not make her a capable Weaver? Or at least a Weaver that he would need?

The blacksmith nodded, running a calloused and soot covered hand through his beard. He stared at her, his eyes looking her up and down. He was wondering of her possible potential.

"I can teach you Enchantment easily if your Weaving skill is as high as you say."

Excitement and hope bloomed inside of her. She couldn't believe that she would be able to learn something like Enchantment! It sounded fun! It was something knew as well! Plus, it might help reduce future equipment costs if she knew how to do Enchanted Weaving!

"I'm ready to learn, sir." She gave him a bright smile.

Lornez hummed, crossing his sturdy arms in what appeared to be an amused manner. He could see potential in her. See her thirst for knowledge and desire to perfect it. He would like to help her with that, to the best of his ability anyway.
