"Sister! I have to save her first!"
Zero Two rushed towards her sister after noticing she was trapped. However, the titans instantly detected her, however. While she tried to fly below one of them, that ended up being a grave mistake, as dozens of missiles were fired from the titan's rear, all directed at her.
"These bastards! They don't even want me to get involved, huh?!"
Zero Two braced herself, crimson lightning overflowing through her body as her Demonic Stigma was activated once more, amplifying her power as she hypercharged her body and circuits with electricity.
"[Machine Blade Arts]: {One Hundred Lightning Blades}!"
She transformed her nanomachines into blades that began to spiral around her, rapidly intercepting the missiles and lasers and destroying them or stopping them before they could hurt her.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Countless explosions engulfed her surroundings as she pierced through all long-range attacks, glaring at the titan before her, which was too focused on Zero One to give her its full attention.
"Where is it?!"
Her eyes glowed as she began to analyze the entire robot, looking for the core by using the data she extracted from the one she just killed.
And then…
Ding! Ding! Ding!
Something within her internal systems found what she was looking for, a slightly different robot inside of the hundreds of combined ones.
It was slowly moving around, spreading electricity to keep the titan together, while also being the "brain" of the titan itself.
"Got you."
Zero One quickly turned half her nanomachines into a long spear and pointed at the robot, firing the spear at lightning speed.
FLAAASH!
The spear left behind a crimson trail, reaching the robot and then piercing through its metal the same way she did before.
CRAAASH!
As this happened, Zero One noticed the loud explosion. While struggling, she saw a huge black and red spear pierce through one of the titans; a star-shaped robot had been impaled by it, taken away from the titan.
It was struggling, groaning in pain while twitching; that ugly star-shaped thing was what she had been looking for but couldn't find!
"T-That's the core—wait, a black and red spear…!"
Zero One smiled happily as she saw her sister appear the moment the star-shaped core robot exploded into pieces; the entire titan collapsed, falling into the oceans once its entire composition crumbled down.
SPLAAASH!
And then she saw her, her identical sister, with long, silky black hair and crimson eyes, surrounded by fifty floating blades infused with electricity.
"ZERO TWO!"
"SISTER!"
The two sisters rushed towards one another as missiles and laser beams chased them, both destroying them or evading them the best they could.
CLAAANK!
Until both sisters hugged each other, feeling happy to meet one another amidst this chaotic and confusing battlefield.
"You came back! I'm sorry, but I was unable to…!"
"It's fine! We have to get out of here; we can't fight so many at the same time!"
"Y-Yeah!"
Zero Two might have managed to kill these titans, but the amount of attacks they unleashed and the power of their blows was enough to make her hesitate on taking them at the same time.
She was confident they could take them in one-on-one battles, but anything else would end up in their demise.
The two sisters flew away, quickly reaching the skies above, only for the titans to follow them, using hundreds of propulsors to ascend into the skies as well.
"They're chasing us and constantly firing missiles and laser beams! T-This is so frustrating!"
"There's just no way to separate them somehow?!"
The two sisters were finally together, but their struggle only continued, as they noticed two more titans being assembled right behind the three chasing them.
This only meant one thing: their foe was also growing desperate; the Mechanical Tree and whoever controlled it had already unleashed their strongest soldiers so far.
"Just how many of these shitters is the tree planning to make?!" Zero Two was very foul-mouthed, but Zero One never really minded it.
"There are still thousands of these smaller machines, so perhaps several dozen more!" Zero One said. "We should regroup with the rest of our team and fight together!"
"Y-Yeah!" Zero Two nodded as she held her sister's hand; the two shared internal energies, powering themselves up to their limits to fly as quickly as possible and evade obstacles and projectiles at the same time.
And yet, things only got worse!
"Huh?!"
Zero Two glanced behind, only to realize a massive net of electricity was chasing them!
"Dammit, what's that now?! A net?! Seriously?!"
"A-Ah! Over there as well!"
Zero One pointed down below; another net was being pushed towards them.
"We have to escape then, fly higher—ah!"
But it was also futile; nets made of high-voltage electromagnetic energies were coming from every single angle; they were trapped already.
"Dammit!"
"We have to break through!"
Their Auras combined as they rushed forward, trying to break through the net in front of them; their swords were swung forward as they attempted to be like Anna, who could cut through lightning itself.
And yet…!
BOOMMM!!!
An explosion of electricity erupted, hitting them back the moment they struck the net; they were pushed back, the other nets approaching them, and then…
BBBZZZTTTT!
"Uuuaaaggh!"
"Hyaaaaahh!"
They were caught in their trap, their circuits started burning out, their cores were overcharging with so much electricity trying to destroy their bodies…
They were left unable to attack back, to do anything but suffer as they died…
"ELIMINATION IN PROGRESS."
"DON'T STOP PUSHING ENERGY UNTIL THE DEFECTS ARE FULLY ELIMINATED."
"REMAIN CALM AND CONTINUE THE OPERATION."
The robots talked with one another, as they constantly infused more and more and more energy!
Amidst this scene, Zero One glanced into the skies.
"So this is how it ends…"
Her eyes slowly began closing.
"Ah… I'm sorry, Anna… Zero Three."
Darkness slowly began to swallow her consciousness.
And her Golden Soul began to slowly… dissipate.
BOOOMMM!!!
"Huh?!"
"Ugh!"
However, a sudden, loud explosion woke up the two sisters, as they saw a huge hole blown through one of the titans, their electromagnetic net completely dissipating the moment the core was destroyed.
"W-Wha…?!"
The entire trap became much weaker as the two sisters saw a huge figure approaching, a machine wielding two golden katanas, which was responsible for what happened to that titan.
Made of white metal and with several golden circuits glowing through its body, Zero One and Zero Two immediately recognized her.
"SISTERS!"
The massive and majestic-looking machine, resembling a powerful mechanical Immortal rushed forward, swinging her massive katanas and cutting through missiles and titanic metallic arms as if they were nothing!
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Laser beams were easily deflected by the robot's force field as well, all while it reached them within a split second, extending its huge hand and grabbing them, dragging the sisters away from danger.
As the robot flew out of danger higher into the skies, Zero One and Zero Two glanced at the cockpit, which opened, revealing a blonde android.
"Z-Zero Three?!"
The two sisters were left speechless…
"I'm sorry for being late… I've made up my mind… Please, come inside!"
The two sisters were pushed inside by Zero Three's mecha arm.
"I know this isn't the time for conversations, and I know you must hate me, but… Huh?!"
However, despite Zero Three feeling like they would hate her, her two sisters hugged her.
"W-What are you…?!"
She blushed, feeling flustered, her stoic face finally changing into one of embarrassment.
"You don't have to apologize!" Zero One said. "I'm just happy you came!"
"Yeah! It means you really… see us as your family?" Zero Two asked.
"S-Sisters…" Zero Three muttered, holding back her tears but being unable to. "Yes… I do…"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The emotive moment, however, was interrupted as more missiles bombarded the mecha, the force field holding them back, but perhaps not for too long.
"Aaah! The entire thing's shaking!" Zero One panicked. "I'm happy you're here and all, but why did you even put us inside?!"
"We're better off fighting on our own! You're the good at piloting huge mechs, Zero Three, not us!" Zero Two said.
"You're mistaken," Zero Three said. "This robot… is no mere mech. It is a part of my own body as well. And it has been installed with a new program. One that should make it compatible with your bodies."
"R-Really?" Zero One asked. "But how is that even…?"
"I know it seems hard to believe, but this is how it works," Zero Three smiled. "Sit down and touch my shoulders!"
The two sat down in the smaller seats next to Zero Three's seat, and then, using their hands, they touched her shoulders.
FLAAASH!
Suddenly, white light engulfed them completely, as their electromagnetic energies and powers merged as one, flowing through the entire machine as its lifeblood.
CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!
The robot started transforming, changing, evolving…
With the power of the three unified sisters.
It felt as if it was finally awakening its true form!
