Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Conjoined Ghost_1

Inside the villa, there were quite a few people.

Although Wu Qingqing did not enter, her face grew even uglier after seeing Chu Hao enter the villa.

Chu Hao, you penniless pauper, just you wait.

Wang Yu whispered something to a middle-aged man, probably his father.

The middle-aged man turned around, angrily saying, "Are you stupid? There are no ghosts in this world. What con artist? Kick him out at once."

Excited, Wang Yu said, "Father, have you forgotten? In the past few days, strange things have been happening at Uncle's house, and I've seen the Taoist Master's abilities with my own eyes. There can be no falsehood in that."

Chu Hao couldn't be bothered with idle talk because he had already seen the ghost.

He exchanged for a Soulrend Talisman and shouted, "Grand Supreme Elderly Lord, Emergency Wish-Granting Command!"

The people in the villa were startled. What was this man up to?

"Ah!! What... what is that?" cried the people inside the villa.

Then, everyone looked up at the ceiling to see a dark figure crouched there. It was an old crone with a contorted body, lying face down, her head twisted impossibly backward against her spine.

"Damn it!" Wang Yu's father shuddered, looking at the ceiling in disbelief.

Chu Hao shouted loudly, "Ladies and gentlemen, fear not! I, the Taoist Master, am here precisely to annihilate this Evil Ghost!"

"Ding... Host has successfully been pretentious, gaining 3 Pretentiousness Points."

Wang Yu's legs were also shaking, but he still said forcefully, "Father, don't be afraid. The Taoist Master is here."

The dark old crone on the ceiling hissed at Chu Hao with a sound like nails on glass, lunging towards him.

"Monster! Face my sword!"

Chu Hao now brandished a Peachwood Sword, gathering Mana Points, and thrust the sword forward.

The evil old crone, though more formidable than a Xiao Gui, couldn't withstand Chu Hao's sword strike and was immediately reduced to ashes.

"Ding... You've killed an Evil Ghost, gaining 5,000 Experience Points."

"Ding... Host level has increased by 4 levels."

"Ding... Evil Ghost's drop has been collected into the inventory."

Chu Hao was delighted; there were actually dropped items. He quickly put away his sword, his face a picture of calm, as if he had merely swatted a fly.

The crowd was still not reacting, the sword strike having left them stunned.

"Ding... Host has successfully been pretentious, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points."

Chu Hao could not pass up this chance to show off and began speaking, "Ladies and gentlemen, rest assured, with me, the Taoist Master here... Damn it!"

He hadn't finished speaking when two ghosts floated down from upstairs. One was the Female Ghost in the flowered dress he had seen earlier, and the other looked exactly like her.

Twins!

"Nasty Taoist priest, go to hell!"

Saying this, the two twin Female Ghosts actually fused.

System prompt: "Twin Soul Evil Spirit has appeared, strength tripled. Host, please take note."

Like I need the heads-up! I've already seen it.

In an instant, a wild wind blew through the villa, sending everything flying. Many people fell to the ground, their faces filled with terror.

After fusing, the Female Ghost now had two heads, one above the other, and four arms spread out, looking viciously at him like some spidery humanoid.

Chu Hao felt his hair stand on end. This was definitely a very powerful Evil Ghost; the Yin energy was so strong it made his scalp tingle.

"A ghost!!"

The people screamed, their faces pale. Those with weak hearts even fainted from fear.

With a BANG, the villa's main door slammed shut, and no one could escape.

Chu Hao was anxious and said sheepishly, "Come on, let's talk this over. No need to get rough."

The Female Ghost shrieked and attacked.

You're really asking for it! Think I'm easy to bully?

Chu Hao immediately utilized the Shushan Sword Manual and battled the Female Ghost, exchanging blows.

Everyone present was dumbfounded by the spectacle, which seemed like something out of a movie, especially Chu Hao's heroic and valiant appearance.

Wang Yu, though scared, still said, "See? With the Taoist Master here, we'll be fine."

"So... so cool," a thirteen-year-old girl said, her pretty eyes wide open.

"Ding... Host has successfully been pretentious, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points."

After fighting for a while, Chu Hao was fuming. "Sadako, get her for me!" he shouted.

Sadako emerged and pounced directly on the Conjoined Ghost, and the two ghosts battled fiercely.

This is definitely the first time Sadako has ever fought a Conjoined Ghost.

This is driving me insane! This ghost is completely unreasonable. How am I supposed to negotiate or find out the truth? He conveniently forgot about the old crone he had just stabbed to death.

System: "It is recommended to purchase the Five Thunders Roar Talisman, 10 Pretentiousness Points each."

Acting like a tycoon, Chu Hao said, "Give me two."

"Ding... Host has purchased two Five Thunders Roar Talismans, consuming 20 Pretentiousness Points."

Looking at his remaining Pretentiousness Points, there weren't many left. He felt a pang of heartache, wondering how much showing off he'd need to do to earn them back.

So, two black talismans appeared in his hand. Talismans that cost 10 Pretentiousness Points each… the effects should be pretty good, right?

"Evil spirit, behold the talisman!"

Chu Hao picked up one, chanted the incantation, and aimed it at the Conjoined Ghost.

CRACKLE!

A black bolt of lightning erupted from his palm; its brilliant glare dazzled everyone present, leaving them stunned.

An old man, mouth agape, said, "Dear, wake up and look! A deity has come!"

"Ding... Host has successfully been pretentious, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points."

The Five Thunders Roar Talisman was indeed powerful. Although the Conjoined Ghost dodged the main blast, she was still sent flying and partly scorched by the black lightning, letting out a ghastly scream.

"She actually dodged it," Chu Hao fumed.

The Conjoined Ghost angrily said, "You stinking Taoist priest, just you wait!"

The Conjoined Ghost turned and fled. How could Chu Hao let her go and risk her coming back for revenge?

"Sadako, catch her!"

Sadako was incredibly fast. She grabbed the Conjoined Ghost in an instant, pounced on her, and started biting. Both ghosts were fighting desperately.

The scene was more spectacular than any epic battle, and the group of people in the villa had forgotten all about survival, just standing there staring blankly.

Chu Hao watched for a while. With the two ghosts entangled in their fight, he couldn't find an opening to intervene.

"Master, kill it," Sadako said suddenly.

Chu Hao's eyes turned red. "But what about you?"

Sadako said, "It's okay. Sadako doesn't belong to this world anyway."

Although she said this, Sadako also felt a sense of loss. But for her master, she was willing to give up her existence.

"Absolutely not!"

Chu Hao was a man of compassion and loyalty. Sadako was risking her life to help him; how could he possibly sacrifice her?

Damn it all!

Chu Hao roared, "Sadako, let her go!"

Sadako was stunned but still released the Conjoined Ghost.

Chu Hao, now furious, said, "If you have the guts, come and make trouble for me! I, the Taoist Master, am not afraid of trouble. But you'd better think it through: if you lay a finger on me, I will make you suffer a fate worse than death. Don't think I'm joking."

"I... always keep my word."

"Ding... Host has successfully been pretentious to the Ghost, gaining 4 Pretentiousness Points."

The Conjoined Ghost, somewhat intimidated, let out a fierce shriek and fled.

Chu Hao was seething. This ghost-catching attempt was a total failure, and his face was dark with rage.
