Getting Ready for The Finals
The students of class 1-B shuffled inside their classroom with exhausted expressions on their faces. Even after All Might was finished with them, they still had P.E. which was extremely taxing on their bodies with only a select few not being halfway to sleepy vile.
The hero students threw themselves onto their desks with some of them having their souls leave their bodies. It was a rough day especially since they just came back from their internships. They thought that they would be given an easy day, but apparently, God had other plans for them.
Kinoko lifted her head from the table and groaned, "This is not how I expected my day to be. I thought that they would give us some kind of rest given that we were worked to the bone during our internships, but here we are." Others nodded their heads in agreement.
Bondo added, "I think that we should be happy that Vlad-sensei didn't give us some of his usual warm-ups, or we would have been in a whole world of pain, so it wasn't a complete loss on our end." many shivered remembering the work-outs their teacher forces them to do.
Ibara then cracked her neck, "I believe this to be…" she then cracked her hand, "…a part of being a hero so…," the girl proceeded to crack her back, "…we shouldn't complain much because the lord will most definitely reward our hard work." The girl then clasped her hand as a beam of light shined upon her making everyone wonder how did this happen indoors.
Manga then whispered, "Man, Shiozaki's beam of light is one of the seven mysteries of the world." He rubbed his shoulder, "I don't think we'll ever have a satisfying solution for that."
The girl looked at him and tilted her head, "What light are you talking about?" he wasn't as quiet as he thought he was. No one cared for that, but everyone fell to the ground shocked at their classmate's oblivious behavior. It was unbelievable how she didn't seem to notice what her classmates dubbed as the light. It was a quirky thing their friend did from time to time.
Izuku then lifted his head and said, "Ok aside from unexplainable occurrences that I will try to cover later on, let's look at the bright side of today," everyone looked at him with raised eyebrows, "We all got to see how each other's quirks improved." He then pulled out his notebook and said, "I mean I wrote about 10 new entries for each one of you guys." A pin drop could be heard right now.
The green-haired boy was unnerved by the sudden silence, "Did I say something wrong or out of place?"
Kamakiri then said, "Stutter, you need to calm down your habit. We also need a chance to shine you know…" he was neck-chopped by Kendo who said, "Nothing. He means nothing."
A light bulb appeared over the boy's head, "How about I give you all my notes?" he grabbed everyone's attention with this. Everyone was flabbergasted that Izuku was willingly handing them his notes. It was a well-known fact by now that Izuku Midoriya would die before having someone touch his notebook; especially what happened on the third day of school with Tokage.
Kaibara asked him, "Dude, are you comfortable with that? We all know how protective of your notebook you are." Tsuburaba nodded his head beside him.
Izuku chuckled a little, "I know, but I trust you guys. I mean one day we'll have to fight side by side, so if I can't trust you with a simple notebook, how will I be able to trust you with my life?"
Everyone was touched by this, even Kamakiri who scoffed with a small mile. Tetsu then hugged Izuku, "That's so manly, Izuku-bro. you're a man. I hope I can be like you one day." The green-haired boy laughed a little as they all heard the door open.
All the students then shuffled to their seats as Vlad King walked in and inspected the scene with a nod. The hero then put down his papers and said, "Hey maggots, so how was your day so far?"
The entire class groaned as the hero then said, "Music to my ears." He then yelled, "ALRIGHT, MAGGOTS. I WANT ALL OF YOUR EYES ON ME RIGHT NOW." The entire class looked at him as he used a much quieter tone now, "Good, now have something very important to tell you, kids."
The students looked at him holding down their breaths as he said, "Your final exams are here."
The class from that point forward went into absolute pandemonium. Students were worried and tired begging to have a break from one threshold followed by the other till he yelled, "CAN IT, MAGGOTS. COMPLAIN TO SOMEONE WHO CARES. I'M TELLING YOU THAT YOU'RE HAVING EXAMS AND THIS IS FINAL AND IT IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT UP FOR DISCUSSION."
The entire class quieted down as Vlad shook his head, "The exams will be divided into two parts. The theoretical portion and the practical one. And regardless to say that each one has a certain level of success to be passed. You have a month and a half to prepare. Use it wisely; you'll need it."
He saw all of his students digesting the news, the hero delivered the final news of the day, "One more thing before I leave you to do god knows what, there is a summer camp after the final exams where people will go to train their quirks, so make sure to study hard since only passing students will go there…" and with that, Vlad left the classroom gracefully.
The man left behind shocked students; be it people who are in the top or those in the bottom. They had so many questions about the summer camp like where it was, and how are they going there, but questions for later they supposed.
Two voices then echoed. One in despair while the other in joy. It was Tsuburaba and Awase, "Man, I'm so screwed during the exams. I didn't study anything."
The bandana-wearing boy slumped down in depression as Ibara awkwardly patted his back, "There, there, Awase. I'm sure that you can do it…" The girl was homeschooled for most of her life so this was a new experience for her, most of her time was her parents babying her. She was thankful she didn't grow an ego from all the pampering she received, but credit to her parents for raising her right even with the overprotective and pampering attitude.
The boy looked at her with teary eyes, "It's no use. I've been so busy with the sports festival and the internships that I barely got to study anything. This is going to be worse than the midterms." The boy put his hands on his head as he remembered ranking 20th in the midterms.
Ibara who ranked 8th then said, "If you want, I'm sure Shishida and myself will help you." She was shocked when the boy hugged her and began thanking her repeatedly. She just hoped no one saw the blush on her face because this was embarrassing.
Tsuburaba who ranked 19th patted him on his back, "Dude, calm down. You making a big deal out of nothing." He was met by a slap to the head from Shishida who ranked 4th.
The beast boy then said, "Please don't underestimate the knowledge of knowing. A lot of people don't have this privilege. Some would kill to have this chance." The bubble boy was about to reply, but something in the beast boy's tone stopped him.
Rin and Reiko who ranked 9th and 12th respectively nodded their heads with Reiko adding, "The power of knowledge is something that shouldn't be underestimated since it opens up new horizons for us to venture. It strengthens our core and gives us new meaning in life."
The students looked at her with confused expressions as Yui who ranked 10th said, "She means knowledge is power and it gives our brains more strength to face the world." Everyone nodded.
Kendo who was 7th then said, "Thank you Yui for being our local Reiko translator." She then looked at the sliver-haired girl and said, "But you're still pretty cute when you speak that way."
The sliver-haired girl nodded her head as Shoda who was ranked 3rd then said, "I suppose that was can do something to help the rest of the class." Everyone looked at him, "I mean a group study would help us all, plus it would give us more insight into where we are lacking."
Setsuna who was ranked 1st stretched her arms, "I don't know about you, but I don't think I need it." She flexed her muscles, "I mean I'm t the top of my class…" She was then hit by a paper missile.
She grabbed it and looked at Tetsutetsu who was ranked 12th, "Hey, don't go around throwing things at people. You almost took my eyes out."
The boy waved his hand and said, "Please, you can just regenerate them."
Izuku ranked 2nd tried to play mediator, "Please calm down. I'm sure everyone will do fine."
Tetus then yelled, "Easy for you to say, both of you are the top dogs when it comes to academics. It must be nice looking down on us for your high castle." Both of them sweat-dropped at his claim.
Kinoko who ranked 14th said, "Don't you think that you're overdoing it a little?" Pony who was ranked 13th nodded her head in agreement, "Plus, I think that it would be good for us to have a group study. I mean with Izuku, Setsuna, Shoda, and Shishida teaching us we're bound to have good grades at the end of the day."
Kaibara who ranked 15th, "I agree with you, but he still has a point about her flexing her muscles."
Manga who was ranked 17th replied to the gyrate quirk user, "I think that you're just jealous that you can't reach her level in training and that she flipped you in basic self-defense."
The boy glared at him making Bondo who was ranked 18th shiver in fear. Kamakiri who was ranked 6th in class walked away, "Just study hard enough and you'll pass. That's what I usually do."
Honenuki who was ranked 5th said, "I think Kendo and Kamakiri both have a point. I mean having a group study has huge benefits for all of us." He then thought of something, "How about we also rent a training ground to prepare for the practical portion?"
Shihai who ranked 16th then hummed a little, "Alright, that seems good enough for me. It still keeps the question of who wants to join this." he then put a fist in his hand, "Oh; do you think class 1-A want to also join us? I mean the more the better. I heard Yaoyorozu and Iida…"
It then dawned on him that Iida was downgraded to general studies for the time being making him say, "Yeah, right. Let's scratch that idea in its baby tracks."
Izuku then sighed, "I'll go and talk to Yaoyorozu, even though I think that I'm the last person that they want to see at this moment…" he was then slapped by Kamakiri who had a tic mark on his head.
Kamakiri then growled, "Get your head from the trash and smell the air." He grabbed the scruff of the boy's shirt and began shaking him back and forth. "We saved their worthless butts. If anything, their classmates should worship the ground we're walking on."
Setsuna then came and liberated a dazed Izuku from him, "Even though the way he's doing is wrong, he's right." She grabbed his face putting it in hers, "Izukun, you saved their lives. If they can't be grateful, it's their problem."
The boy blushed heavily, "I think I get the point."
She then let him go and looked away trying to control her own blush as Kendo said, "Wow, Set. You seem hot under the collar there. Need some refreshments to cool off."
The girl flipped her off as she exited the room with everyone following her.
In the cafeteria, the students were sitting around the place eating peacefully, but one person was feeling a little bit uncomfortable; it was Izuku. He felt that someone was currently glaring at him.
Kinoko noticed his discomfort and asked him, "Is there something wrong, Izuku?"
The boy chuckled rubbing the back of his head, "I don't know, but I feel that someone is planning my death or a beatdown." The others looked at him weirded out, but they shrugged.
Kinoko added, "Well, you did manage to kick the hero killer's ass…" she then looked at 1-A's commercial advertiser, "…so I suppose that Monoma is trying to curse you or something."
Kendo replied, "Oh yeah, Monoma is really into voodoo. I once saw him trying to curse a kid who got a grade better than him in classical Japanese literature. It was funny as much as it was sad and cringy." She laughed a little, "You should have seen him jumping around like an ape."
Izuku replied, "I don't know if that is supposed to make me feel better because it's a bit creepy."
Kendo nodded her head. Setsuna then said, "Well, I guess his hobbies are as creepy as he is."
Tetsu then said, "But now that you mentioned it, Mido-bro…" the green-haired boy said, "I did notice some of 1-As students glaring at you and Kamakiri like you killed their mother or something." This caused the 3 girls to sweat-drop.
Setsuna smacked him on the back of the head, "And now, did it come to you to tell us?" She looked to one of the tables where 1-A students were sitting, and true enough some of them were glaring at Izuku, but looked away when she glared back on his behalf.
The girl sat down with a huff and said, "I guess that whole, Todoroki and Iida thing made a bigger splash of stupidity than we gave it credit for."
Setsuna pouted a little, "I don't get why are they angry with you and bug boy. You were the heroes of the fight, not the villains. You saved their classmates' butts and somehow you're wrong."
Kendo patted her head, "Look, I think there must be a misconception, so how about we iron things out with Momo first so we can see where the damage was done first."
Izuku nodded his head, "She's right. I think the best way to resolve this is to see what's going on and fix the problem." He then looked at Kendo, "Should we go right or sometime else? Might as well ask her if she's interested in studying together with us?"
Itsuka stood and wiped her mouth with a paper tissue from food. "Alright, let's get this over with."
The girl walked in front of him, but he swore he heard her grumbling something about 1-A not thinking enough and searching for trouble.
Izuku then coughed in his fist, "I take that you're angry."
The girl shook her head, "Not angry, but more like annoyed. I mean you risked your life to save their butts, and somehow you're annoyed." The girl then added, "It mostly reminds me of the annoying pricks in my dojo who I help and, in the end, they simply do not acknowledge me."
The boy patted her back, "There, there, Kendo. If it helps you, I will give you that Miruko signature that I promised I will give after school is finished." The girl looked over at him with sparkly eyes.
She then hugged him in something that no one ever saw from the tomboy, "Thanks, Midoriya. That's so awesome. I can't believe it. She's my all-time favorite hero. She is my inspiration."
The boy blushed red but nodded his head. The girl let him go noticing the eyes they were receiving, and she could've sworn she heard people talking about a new couple. This caused her to deflate, 'Oh come on, we just got rid of that rumor that began since the USJ!'
The two reached the seat that Momo and her close friend Jiro were sitting on. The two looked at them sharing an uneasy look as Momo stood up and greeted them, "Hello Itsuka, Midoriya, how are you doing today? I hope that everything is fine."
Both nodded their heads as Kendo started the conversation, "Ok, how about we skip pleasantries? I want to talk to you about a couple of things?"
Jiro smiled crossing her arms, "Well, look at that, someone who always gets to the point. A woman of my kind. A pleasure to meet you, my name is Kyoka Jiro."
Itsuka then said, "A pleasure to meet you too, though I have to ask you both; why are some of your classmates glaring at Midoriya like he's the devil incarnate?"
Both girls looked at each other and bit their lips as Momo said with a little shame, "Well, it's a long story, but believe me that you won't like the story…" both looked at her with raised eyebrows, "Well here, it goes…"
Class 1-A was sitting in their classroom talking about their internships. Sero was walking with a depressed expression, "Man, children kept saying to me 'Nice try' during the entire internship."
Tsuyu patted him on the back, "Don't feel bad, Sero. Still, it was a nice try." This made him even more depressed since his friends are joining in and making fun of him.
The girl then walked up to Mina and saw Ochako, "Wow Ochako, it seems that you found your spirit during this internship." The girl was currently doing karate moves.
Momo was talking to Jiro, "I'm really thankful Midoriya warned me about the snake hero, or else I would've been doing commercials for the entirety of my internships."
Jiro nodded her head, "I have to say that he did you a big favor, but he also helped me by telling me to go with the underground hero: Bat. The hero gave me new ideas on how to use my quirk."
The rich girl smiled, "Well, my internship with Fatgum was extremely prosperous. I can make more complex objects with less fat from my body and in less time, though he did tell me that I'm going to need to keep turning to reach my true potential." The girl said with huge sparkly eyes and happy energy. Jiro took out some glasses to make sure that she doesn't go blind.
Toru jumped from the side saying happily, "Well, I'll always be grateful to him, since his suggestion helped me become visible." The girl with lime-green hair and crystal-blue eyes jumped around before briefly disappearing, "…but I have to be focused and over time it will be natural."
Denki then said, "Hey guys, is it only me or are Iida and Todoroki late?" everyone looked at him, "I mean they're usually the first people that come to class."
Momo then said, "Now that you mentioned it, I do find it odd that he's late, though I did hear that some students were injured from fighting the hero killer. Do you think that's him?"
Mina laughed, "BAHAHAHAHA," she looked at her, "Man, that's priceless. Be real, Yaomomo. That's Iida we're talking about. Mister 'I follow the roles by the letter'; I can't imagine him doing that."
Denki then popped out, "Well, he was…" he then opened his phone, "…the police tried to remove the video from the web, but I managed to save some parts from it." The video showed Kamakiri holding both an unconscious Iida and Shoto, while Midoriya was holding an unconscious Stain and some hero that they didn't recognize.
"Hmm, maybe they're talking with the principal and Aizawa-sensei about their involvement in the fight," Shoji said, "I bet our homeroom teacher is blowing a fuse right now."
The door was then slammed open, "Alright, hellions. The class will begin right now, but I heard very promising results from your internships so good work…"
Tokoyami raised his hand and Aizawa nodded his head to him to speak, "Aizawa-sensei, but I feel inclined to ask where are Iida and Todoroki. It seems unfathomable that you aren't showing concern after their involvement with the hero killer."
Aizawa's eyes sparked, "How did you find out?" the class was unnerved as they all pointed at Kaminari who swallowed a lump in his throat. The man said one word, "Speak"
The boy then said, "Well, I saw the video that was taken down a while later, but I managed to download it before it was taken down."
Aizawa sighed a little, "Alright, I tried to avoid this, but your classmates are going to be stuck in general study for a while. Iida is currently on physiotherapy to see if he can continue after his scuffle with Stain and also endangering the lives of his classmates, while Todoroki is on timeout for also endangering his classmates by his reckless behavior."
Kirishima jumped up, "But sir, what do you mean?" the man raised an eyebrow, "I mean this is Iida were talking about. He can't do that. And Todoroki is a little bit rough around the edges, but he wouldn't do something like that. There must be some sort of mis…"
Aizawa lifted his hand and Kirishima went quiet, "This isn't up for discussion. The only reason that they aren't expelled from the hero course and barred from every hero school is, because I feel that I'm slightly responsible for what happened to them. They have one chance to prove themselves or they can simply kiss their hero careers goodbye like any other hero hopeful."
Kirishima growled under his breath as he asked, "Ok, but what about Baku-bro? when he'll come back? I didn't see him also today. I thought his punishment would be over today."
Aizawa raised an eyebrow in what can be called confusion, "What are talking about? I told you last time that Bakugo's spot in the hero course is frozen till he proves himself worthy of this seat or not. After that, we'll see what happens to him."
Kaminari then said, "You were talking for real. I thought this was just a logical ruse like you always do. Is Bakugo really going to be…"
Aizawa explained, "His fate is in his hands. He can either prove himself or not." He then turned to the board and said, "Now let's begin the lesson. Daytime is being wasted…" he then remembered something. "And yeah Jiro…"
The girl looked at him as he said, "You're the new vice since Iida is out of commission and I deem him unfit for such a position…" he then returned to the lesson like he didn't just drop a bomb on the poor girl who couldn't make heads and tails with her new promotion.
After that, the day went on normally, but everyone could tell that the mood was a little bit heavy.
It was only after the hero training did the real trouble begin and the huge division aroused.
Mineta was sobbing on the ground as the peephole he found was already sealed shut, "Why? Why? I could have seen heaven, but someone stopped…" he then had an angry look, "I bet it was that goody two shoes from 1-B who stopped us from seeing heaven in the…"
He was smacked on the head by Momo, "Shut up. Whoever did it will have our gratitude till the end of days because he stopped a perv like you from spying on us." She then added, "And badmouth Midoriya because he's a nice guy who cares about others and wants to stop the likes of you…"
Kirishima said from the side, "Well, he isn't as nice as he looks…"
Jiro looked at him and said, "What do you mean, Kirishima? I met the guy and he seems decent."
Kirishima then said, "Well, I talked with Iida and Todoroki. And they said it was all his fault what happened with them, and Todoroki even said that Midoriya knocked him out."
Ojiro asked him, "When did he knock him out exactly for Todoroki to blame him…"
Kirishima said, "He knocked him out when they were fighting Stain. Todoroki said that he had everything under control, but suddenly Midoriya knocked him out…"
Ochako then said, "But that doesn't sound like Midoriya. I am sure that must be a logical explanation."
Kirishima then said, "I know why he did that…" everyone looked at him, even Monoma was interested and didn't comment on the subject yet, "…he wants to drain class 1-A of all of its powerhouses so more attention could be placed on his class instead. So unmanly…"
The girls all looked at him like he lost his marbles as Mina said, "Kiri, are you sure you're fine?" the boy looked up at her, "Because you're spewing crazy nonsense. Are you exhausted from the training?"
The boy looked at her with confusion and said, "You don't believe me…" he was hurt that his best friend from high school and his inspiration didn't believe him.
The girl shrugged, "Yeah, I mean you sound like one of those conspiracy theorists with tinfoil hats. Plus, why would Midoriya go all the way to fight Stain and knock Todoroki during the heat of the battle? If anything, he should be the one in trouble, not Todo-babe."
Kirishima shook his head, "Think about it for a second. After the sports festival, Bakugo was taken out due to him being on probation and Aizawa refused to give us more details. I just couldn't get it how someone as manly as Bakugo would be in trouble…" Many students looked at him with raised eyebrows, "…but then I remembered that Midoriya was talking with Bakugo during their fight so I assumed it had to do something with that. Now, Todoroki, who's the son of the number 2 hero, is knocked out mid-fight for being reckless and endangering others. Sure, he might be rough around the edges, but he would never do something like that. Heck even Iida told me that his injury wouldn't have happened to him had Midoriya and Kamakiri didn't interfere with his fight against Stain…" This caused many students to wonder what was Iida doing fighting Stain, to begin with. "…but I then connected the dots, and I know for sure that Midoriya was spewing lies to get them out of the hero course."
Everyone looked at him as Tsuyu coughed in her fist, "And why would Midoriya-chan do that?"
Kirishima sighed, "I guess it's just his way of bringing the light to his class. It's well known that the class of 1-A always gets more attention than 1-B, so he came up with a web of lies to get rid of our powerhouses, so the spotlight would be on his class instead. So unmanly, if he wanted help, he could have asked us…"
The girls looked at him like he was insane as Toru said, "Kirishima…" The boy looked at her in the eyes which weirded him out, "Midoriya won the sports festival. He's accredited for defeating Stain. His face was on the front page of every newspaper a week ago, he doesn't need to do that. I think that you're overthinking it…"
Sero then said, "I think he might be onto something…" People looked at him as he walked to Kirishima's side with Kaminari, Mineta, and Aoyama.
Momo looked at them as Sato and Ojiro joined them, "Please don't tell you 6…" she then looked at Mineta and knew why he joined them, "…I mean you 5 believe this craziness. This is one of the most outlandish things that I have ever heard. Don't tell me you actually bought it?"
Kaminari rubbed the back of his head, "Sorry, but I find it a little bit weird that suddenly our strongest are all on the brink of expulsion and it all relates to one guy reporting them."
Aoyama and Mineta gave their 50 cents but were ignored due to their eccentricities with the former only saying that Izuku want to outshine him, while the latter complained that the boy wanted to have all the ladies to himself and deny them to others such as himself.
Sato then said, "Look, I don't want to sound petty, but it does sound fishy that they all got demoted in such a short amount of time. I don't know honestly, but something isn't right."
Toru then exclaimed, "And what? This sounds logical to you… that Midoriya and his class planned this to get the spotlight on them. This is crazy. Why fight the hero killer? There are ten million different ways to get that spotlight that doesn't include dying in a death match with a sociopath."
Ojiro then added, "Hagakure, look…" Everyone looked at him, "…Iida blames Midoriya for what happened to him, heck he even blames Kamakiri for what happened. And Iida is a rule follower so what I wouldn't put past them to do something like that to garner attention to their class." What Kirishima didn't say was that Iida also blamed Todoroki and that the boy said that he was going to defeat Stain alone, but the hardening boy had been dead set on his theory, he didn't listen to Iida much.
"This is frankly the dumbest thing I heard…" Everyone looked at Monoma, "…the mere idea that 1-B would do such a thing just for attention is crazy…" The boys were freaked out since Monoma was known to have something against their sister class.
"What? do you honestly think I would believe this nonsense?" Monoma asked normally, "I mean think about it. Why go to absurd lengths to do this? And are you forgetting that our teachers are pros? They can't be fooled that easily. They aren't children. Plus, I know Kendo from when we were in kinder garden, she wouldn't do something like that."
Momo then said, "That's honestly very mature of you, Monoma." the boy looked at her with an unreadable expression, "...I thought you'd be the first person to jump on this craziness, but you proved me wrong." she swore she saw his eyebrow twitch for a moment.
Tsuyu then said, "He's right. I honestly think that Iida went to get revenge against Stain, but Midoriya and Kamakiri saved him. He kept rushing at Stain blindly which led to his injury while Todoroki got knocked out because he was using his ice left and right without no regard to others."
Everyone looked at her as she said, "What? This is the case that explains everything." She then tilted her head, and asked, "Did you forget what he did at the beginning of the year when he attacked Midoriya all of a sudden?"
Kirishima shook his head, "Baku-bro must have had a reason. He isn't the bad guy Midoriya is making him out to be to the teachers. You have to believe in your classmates, guys."
The two sides looked at each other unsure of what to do while 3 students remained on the side who were Shoji, Tokoyami, and Koda.
Shoji didn't want to be caught in a fight with any of his classmates. Tokoyami didn't know any of the mentioned individuals much so he didn't know which was truthful. Koda just was worried that if he chose any side the others would be angry at him so he chose to stay out of it altogether.
Jiro then asked, "And what are you planning to do? Go and fight him to force the truth out of him? Or go on some imaginary goose chase to prove your whacky theory?"
Kaminari then said, "You know that's a great idea! Going on forward we'll be the detective squad."
The boys cheered as they exited the building with the girls and Monoma looking at them as if they were insane. Momo looked at Monoma and said, "This is your influence." The boy didn't argue.
Midoriya and Kendo looked at Momo with wide eyes, "So they think I did this on purpose to bring attention to my class. They think I fought the hero killer, a deranged madman for that, just to have the light shine on me and my friends a little more…" Izuku said just to make sure.
Momo and Jiro nodded their heads as the latter said, "As sad and pathetic that is, they believe it."
Izuku's face dropped, "Man, I feel horrible that I caused so much trouble for your class. I feel like a monster for dividing your class like this."
Momo stopped him, "Midoriya, this isn't your fault. Don't worry about our class. We're only divided on this matter, but that didn't affect our teamwork…" she said turning around and shooting a dart at Monoma who tried to creep on them to start his usual crazy talk.
The boy fell to the ground like a bag of potatoes as Kendo caught his food tray. "So, what are going to do now? We can't just let them be. I mean we're heroes in training. This could affect us in joint training exercises if some of our classmates don't work together."
Momo said, "I want to see if Midoriya goes and tells them his side of the story, but I know that they won't believe them since Kirishima and Kaminari are now embarked on their journey of truth to prove that Midoriya is setting up their friends to get expelled."
Jiro then added, "If it helps a little bit, this is more comic relief than anything. I don't think they'll do anything serious. Even the glares are to guilt you into saying the truth."
Izuku and Kendo sweat-dropped a little bit, "Well, I have to give it to them, they do trust their classmates…"
Izuku sweat-dropped, "but still, there are so many other ways to get that spotlight. Why do I need to go to all of those lengths?" he asked his question once more with the two girls only sighing.
"Kirishima was hit hard after Bakugo was sent to probation…" Momo began to explain, "…I think deep down he knows that Bakugo isn't a good person or isn't as good as he thinks he is, but he can't admit it, so when this happened all the pieces of the picture fell for him to try and make sense of the thing. I think the main reason he did this is that he hates bullies as he told us, and if he admits that Bakugo could have been a bully from what Aizawa-sensei's words implied, then he's going to blame himself for befriending a bully."
Both Kendo and Izuku felt bad for him for being stuck between a rock and a hard place…
So, Kendo decided to move from this subject to something more important which is the final exams, "So I was thinking since the final exams are coming up, do you guys want to meet somewhere and study together? This way would maximize our strengths and achieve better grades."
Momo clapped her hands, "That's a wonderful idea. I'll ask my mother to open…" She then remembered her father telling her not to unintentionally brag about her wealth because people might think she's arrogant, an airhead with no sense of reality, or someone who likes to flaunt his money.
The girl stopped and coughed in her fist, "…I mean I'll ask my mother to make the necessary preparations, but I have a question…" Kendo nodded her head, "…can we please make it into a sleepover because I was so happy last time." Kendo and Midoriya nodded their heads.
"Okay, how about we meet the weekend before the end of the first month, and the last two weeks will be revision?" Momo said as she pulled out a calendar putting a date.
The two 1-B students nodded their heads, as they went back to their table after they congratulated Jiro on her new position as the new vice of class 1-A. Kendo also told them that she will tell them what the finals might be like given that she had a friend in higher classes.
The rest of the day went normally as Kendo told everyone about their study session with Momo, though Izuku did have a small fright from All Might who accidentally implied that Stain might have gotten OFA, before clarifying that he was only trying to ease the boy's worry about the same case since OFA can be only transferred through DNA from blood and hair.
With Bakugo, the boy was still in the forest searching for the boy that interested. 'For a brat, he's sure smarter than De… I mean Midoriya when it comes to disappearing from his sight.'
He finally heard grunting and saw the boy punching a dry log till his fist began to bleed, "Oi brat, what the hell do you think he's doing? Your hands are about to fall off."
Bakugo then jumped across a stream that separated him from the boy who backed off, "None of your business, but if you insist; I'm training. I won't be Japan's first quirkless hero by sitting around."
Bakugo scoffed a little, "So the best way to do is by ripping your hands to shreds." He made a perfect sign, "Really smart. I bet the hero agencies are fight… OHHHH" The blond boy buckled over when he felt his life flash before his eyes due to his junk getting kicked.
"I don't care what you say of all people. I'm going to train to prove punks like you wrong." The boy walked to the log connecting the two sides of the stream, but the log was wet so he tripped and almost fell, but Bakugo caught him.
Bakugo jumped to the other side and looked at him saying, "You're welcome by the way…"
The boy only looked away and muttered silently, "Thank you…" he then looked at him and asked, "Why did you save me? I thought that quirkless people can all die according to you."
Bakugo frowned, but calmed himself, "Look kid, I'll be honest with you. I don't like quirkless people. I'll give you that, but I'm not such a horrible person that I see a kid about to die and I look the other way around. I'm full of shit… yeah, but I'm not that bad."
The boy glared at him, "Yeah, you prefer quirkless people to kill themselves."
Bakugo rolled his eyes, "It was just a spur of the moment. I didn't mean it."
"Yeah, of course, you didn't mean it…" the boy scoffed, "…and when it happens, you'll have nothing to do with it. You were just joking around and horsing; that's what every quirkiest jackass says when the consequences of his actions catch up to him."
Bakugo smacked his head against the ground, "Look, he wouldn't have…" he was cut off, "…and what if he did? What would you have done? Lie? Bribe? Or just ignore the guilt altogether?"
Bakugo looked away as he remembered his father's words, "…I don't know, but I truly didn't mean it back then. He just seemed so hopeless; it just came out…"
Bakugo looked at the kid, "He was a daydreaming idiot who never lifted a weight in life. He sat around all day wishing to become a hero. He never trained, never ran, only having his head inside that notebook of his. What was I supposed to do? Pat him on the back?"
"No, but I bet you went out of your way to chase him around. Every time he went to a gym, dojo, or any type of training facility, you'd be behind him to chase him off to serve your pity ego…" Hiro said with a look that told Bakugo to say something opposite to what he said.
Bakugo looked at the ground remembering many times, he did this. He didn't know why, but he thought Midoriya was looking down on him, and a huge part of him still thinks he was looking down on him when he did that, but he wouldn't say it out loud if he didn't want to face the results.
"So, you did, didn't you?" Hiro rubbed his chin, "Let me guess, he was looking down on so you chased him." He then pointed his finger at him, "You're the most self-centered moron I ever saw and I saw a lot. I had to beat my own father black and blue to escape from him after smashing a vase on my mother's head when she tried to put an iron hot poker on me in a drunken state, but that was because they were alcoholics assholes, but you're a special kind of pathetic. You claim to be strong, but pick on the weak to serve your ego." Bakugo stood frozen there as he was given a new one by Hiro, "tell me, did you ever see All Might do this or are you trying to put a legacy of your own? A legacy of terror, perhaps…"
Bakugo finally exploded, "Shut it. None of what you said is true." He tried to kick the boy, but the boy jumped on his leg and kicked him in the face making him fall over. Bakugo looked at him and said, "Lucky shot"
The boy shook his head, "Not luck, but training." The boy looked at him eying, "But you never answered my question, why did you save me?"
Bakugo shrugged, "You got spunk…" he then added, "and as I said, I'm not that horrible of a person to let a kid drown. I may hate quirkless people and see them as pebbles in my way, but I see everyone that way, so it ain't something personal, kid."
The boy then asked, "Do you still think that someone quirkless can't become a hero even after I kick your butt right now?"
Bakugo looked at him, "No, I don't think so. There was no such thing. I don't there can be. A quirkless person can't handle the responsibilities of regular heroes, kid. You can't just do it."
The boy looked him up and down, "Whatever, just watch while I prove you wrong." Bakugo watched him go away. He wasn't going to change his opinion, not now, not ever. Someone powerless can't hope to defeat someone with power. At least, that's what he thought.
The rest of the days till the end of the month were slow with all the students studying their hardest, till their meetup at the heiress's house approached. Even though they saw it before, a group of 11 from class 1-B couldn't help but feel intimidated by the scene that was in front of them.
The mansion was still as huge as ever. Izuku was walking with his friends and an extra clingy Setsuna who was hugging his arm with a cheeky smile. The group consisted of him, Setsuna, Itsuka, Kinoko, Tetsu, Pony, Yanagi, Yui, Manga, Ibara, and Kuroiro. The rest opted to study alone or with relatives.
They met a group of 1-A students, though half of them seemed to ignore their presence. Izuku sweat-dropped, 'They really believe that what happened to their friends was a conspiracy by our class to get into the spotlight. Don't they seem that it seems a little bit insane?'
Kendo nudged him. Her way of saying not to overthink it and just to roll with the flow. He then walked and greeted Jiro who smiled and said, "What's up, green?"
Izuku chuckled for it has been a while since someone called him by the name of his hair color, "Well, I'm fine. How about you and your class? I hope that you're all doing well."
"We're doing fine…" she looked at her friends and added, "…but some of us had their mother drop them on the head when we were children." She said the last part a little bit loudly so they can hear her.
"Please Jiro, don't make them hate than they already do." Jiro patted his head saying, "Don't worry. I have your back. These guys fear me like I'm the god of death or something."
Izuku looked at the group with the girl which consisted of 13 members; the six girls of 1-A, Monoma for some reason, Kirishima, Kaminari, Sero, Koda, Ojiro, and Tokoyami.
Izuku then said, "Well, let's get this show started." He walked up to the intercom and pressed on it.
They waited for a moment before a voice came from it, "You guys came, just a moment so I can open up for. Everything is already set for studying today, so come over so we can begin."
The huge gates opened up and they began to trek to the mansion on a road full of greenery. Truly, it was a sight to behold. No one could argue with that.
Finally, they reached Momo's house where the girl was waiting for them, "I'm happy that you all made it. My maids will take you to the studying hall while I bring the books we need."
The students were led to the study hall, but Monoma had to grab Ochako's arm every time she wandered off due to her amazement at the place. It seemed so enticing to her given her background.
Izuku sat on a huge table in the room with everyone else. They were all astonished at how wonderful the mansion was. Ibara then made a small prayer for success.
Izuku looked to his side and saw Setsuna on one side and Ochako on the other. Mina was beside Ochako and looking at him and Ochako with weird eyes that didn't spell anything good. Well, it was distracting him enough from the looks the boys were giving him.
Kaminari then said, "Hey guys, since we're here. Let's have some fun with each other." Others like Mina and Manga agreed with him, but this quickly ended when Momo entered the room with a huge stack of books.
The girl looked at them and said, "No, we will have nothing of this sort because we are here to study, need I remind you." The boy deflated, but Momo then sighed, "But it is positive to have a small chat before we begin."
Kaminari smiled and then looked at Izuku; even though he didn't trust him or was weary of him, he still had to ask him about the hero killer, "Dude, you fought the hero killer, right? What was he like? Was he as strong as the rumors made? And did he actually drink human blood?" Plus, there were in someone else's home, so they had to be civil. Then again, it wasn't like they were gonna fight with him, anyone.
Sure, they were weary of him, but they didn't mean wanted to slam down with him, just keep their distance till they can prove their friends' innocence. And maybe have him punished for trying to get their friends expelled. They understood where he was coming from, but it was an underhanded way, and they didn't want a fight; at least that's what the brains of the operation thought.
Plus, they couldn't fight here because the cheapest thing in Yaoyorozu's house is worth their parent's entire salary for the next 20 years, so they were sure that they should behave in her house.
Izuku was confused since Kaminari was one of the people that were against him or at least convinced that he was working against them, but he answered, "Yeah, he was horrifying. I still don't how we managed to live through the night. And yeah, he drank blood, but it was his quirk."
The conservation continued for about half an hour, but there was a little amount of awkwardness given how some members of 1-A felt about 1-B, especially Izuku.
Momo finally said, "Alright, now we will begin studying. I will handle Math. Midoriya will handle science and history given he likes studying them and is the best in them in his class. Setsuna will handle…" The girl went on explaining her plan as some students began to yawn from boredom, "…and tomorrow will we all have some quirk training."
The students then began to study together. Momo handles everything with grace explaining every little thing she can think of in Math. When it was Izuku's turn, he made sure to hand everyone his notes on history which he began with since he wanted to ease them onto science. And so, the day continued with the rest of the subjects till the afternoon when they had a hearty meal.
After that, the students went to their respective areas. The boys went to a room prepared for them and the girls went to a room prepared for them.
In the girls' room, Mina sat beside Ochako and began teasing her, "So Ochako, is there anyone that you like here? You know someone you wish to have his lips on yours or her lips. I don't judge."
The girl blushed heavily waving her arms, "What? I… I mean… what are… I…" The girl had swirls in her eyes covering her face with her hands beginning to float in the air as Tsuyu used her tongue as an anchor to prevent her from floating outside the building.
Momo whacked Mina upside the head, "Mina, please. Don't tease her. I don't think her heart can handle it properly. She seems that she's about to faint."
Mina then turned toward her, "Ok, then let's talk about you and Todoroki…" The rich girl blushed at the mention of the boy; she wouldn't admit it, but she had a small crush on him.
The girl turned her head away, "I have no idea what are you talking about…" and she truly didn't. everything regarding Shoto was cold. The boy didn't seem to catch even the smallest number of social cues, and given their sheltered lives, it would be hard to start a relationship, especially from Shoto's end given that he didn't seem to understand the simplest things about social interactions.
In simple terms, any relationship with him was a heartbreak in the making…
Ibara tied up Mina and dragged her to her, "Ashido, I hope that you stop this subject, since it's very sinful. I will let you down and pray for your forgiveness…"
Mina then said, "Well, how about you and Awase? I mean you always look at him with loving eyes."
Ibara handled this better than most people expected, "Awase and I are just friends, but should the lord want our relationship to become something more then I have no problem."
Mina retorted, "But you do like him, don't you?" the girl didn't reply.
Toru then decided to go to Setsuna who seemed to be gearing up to join Mina, "Well, I have a couple of questions to ask you myself…" Tokage looked at her confused, "Tell me, did someone manage to catch your heart? I saw you giving a certain someone with green hair googly eyes."
Tokage looked at her with a blush, but then opened her mouth and yelled, "Pillow fight." She then smacked Toru across the room with the others looking with shock at her. She then threw her pillow at Ibara who fell on her butt with Mina on top of her.
Momo tried to control the situation, but Mina jumped up and hit her with a pillow making the rich girl look at her with a twitching eyebrow. The girl then produced two pillows and said, "Peace was never an option." She then smacked Mina and flipped her over.
Ochako grabbed two pillows and floated in the air. She then threw the pillows down like asteroids.
Ibara then stood up and grabbed many pillows and said, "Sinful. You all have to repent." She then began to chuck them at the other girls. The girls had a lot of fun that night.
However, during all of this, Mina had one thought, 'Oh my dear, Setsuna likes Kamakiri! How couldn't I have seen it before? Perhaps, I can ask Midoriya for help setting them up. Kamakiri seems to tolerate him well enough. This is awesome!'
In the boys' room, the boys were sitting. Each class with their friends. It was hard to talk when half of the class thought that your friend was secretly trying to screw you over. Right now, class 1-A was playing video games while class 1-B was playing UNO.
The morning came, and the students trained their quirks and then each person their home. Even though, most of class 1-A males didn't work with Izuku since they were of him, they all benefited from this…
But before they went to their houses, Itsuka said, "Hey guys, I need to tell you something regarding the exams, from what I heard from the hero students in class 3-A, it's usually fighting robots like in the entrance exams."
Some of the students began to cheer, but Izuku stopped them when he said, "I don't think so…"
Itsuka looked at him, "What do you mean, Midoriya? That's what the 3rd year student told me. It's the regular test for first years at the end of the first trimester…"
"And you said it 'regular'," Izuku said before explaining further, "but this year was anything, but regular so there is a possibility they might change it to something more challenging."
Jiro then said, "Like what? Fighting against third years? Some recent school graduates? Or some low-level sidekicks?"
Izuku hummed, "I agree that we're going to fight someone, but if we want to fight more experienced people then we're going to do it in groups of twos."
Momo nodded, "This seems logical enough, but I don't think we're gonna fight students or side-kicks, since this will make it too easy for us to beat them." Everyone looked at her, "If you think about it, they need to have people who know about our quirks and personalities to be able to test us properly."
Ibara gulped, "And the only people who know such details are…"
Mina slumped against the ground, "The teachers"
Izuku then said, "Well, I can give you all some kind of analysis on each teacher to make it easier for you guys to win. I mean we're all heroes in training."
The students then lifted Izuku and hailed him as their hero. Even Kirishima who was still upset about what happened with his classmates had to admit that it was nice of him to help them there.
The next day in U.A., Nezu looked at his screen, "I guess that everything is ready."
