Back to School
Izuku woke up to the beeping of his All Might clock. The boy began to move his hand around in the hopes of silencing it because he wanted to sleep in a little bit longer. When he grabbed it, he was about to smash it to pieces, but stopped due to its value; it was a limited edition All Might and Endeavor team-up clock.
The hero-in-training sat up in his bed and looked at the clock. It was 5 am. The boy then stood up and began to do his regular training routine. 100 push-ups, 100 pull-ups, 100 crunches, 100 sit-ups, and a ten-mile run was something he did every day. This was his own training once he started studying in U.A., even though All Might told him to do half the work; he was just used at this point. He also made sure to put on his glasses to hide his eyes, because he didn't want to be swarmed by people. He and Kamakiri became a little famous after their encounter with Stain.
When the boy finished his morning jog, he came back to the house and put down his glasses. The boy looked at his social media accounts and saw hundreds of people giving him their support. It was a little bit daunting. His newfound fame made his skin crawl.
He didn't hate the fame, but it came with some rather weird people… one of them was someone asking for his blood.
The boy then saw his mom come down, and he greeted her, "Good morning, Mom. How is your morning today?" he loved his mother very much, but their relationship has been becoming better lately. After the sports festival, he told her about everything that happened with him during his childhood till his junior high days and apologized for ever making her feel responsible for him being quirkless. in her turn, his mother told him about her worries regarding him being a hero and that she wanted him to be safe, and apologized for ignoring his pain for so long. So all in all, he could say that they are becoming closer as the days went on.
The woman sat down near her son and said, "I'm fine today, Izuku. I hope you had a wonderful morning." She then handed him a cup of tea, "Here, drink up. I'm sure that you're thirsty after your morning jog. 10 miles must be really exhausting."
The boy took the cup of tea and drank it. he then let out a huge sigh of satisfaction since the tea was extremely delicious. He smiled and said, "Well, it wasn't as tiring as it used to be. I'm sure I can do at least double what I do."
The woman sighed since there was no convincing him to do otherwise. She then asked, "So did anyone recognize you in your morning jog? The press almost knocked down the front door when the news of you beating Stain first came out."
The boy chuckled a little recalling the unpleasant experience of having the media appear out of nowhere in front of the hospital the moment he and Kamakiri exited. It was annoying.
The press was all over their face asking questions that the boy had no idea how to actually answer. It was seriously confusing. They asked him about things that he shouldn't have an idea about like if the hero killer Stain was targeting heroes based on a pattern or not. It stopped when Miruko came to his rescue much to the press's annoyance for losing a story.
He sighed for what seemed a hundred times, "It was like being swarmed by a colony of red ants. They didn't let go. I felt that I was about to be killed by their sheer numbers. It was ridiculous."
The woman giggled a little bit as she beamed with a smirk, "Well Mr. Hero, this is the price of fame. I hope you like it because it won't last that long. I'm sure that they'll find a story about you to make a scandal like how you used to wet your bed till you were 10."
The boy jumped from his place and yelled, "MOM, we agreed to never mention this ever again."
The woman simply threw a balled tissue at him and said, "Oh hush. I'm sure everyone in the neighborhood knows. Now, if you excuse me, I'm going for a little jog of my own." The woman left making the boy wonder when did his mother start to exercise.
The boy shrugged as he went to the bathroom to freshen up and get ready for school. He looked at the kitchen and saw that breakfast was ready for him, and he smiled.
Half an hour later, the boy exited the bathroom in his school uniform, he quickly ate his breakfast and went for the door. He was about to wear his sunglasses, but the U.A. costume was a dead giveaway so he just hoped for the best.
Once the boy exited his apartment complex, he saw that there were no news reporters. He sighed in relief. 'They must have found something else to focus on. This leaves the people which is hard enough to deal with given I'm the winner of the U.A. sports festival.'
The boy began to make his way slowly toward Setsuna's house to accompany her on their way to school. It would definitely make the train ride much less awkward should he have someone.
In the mentioned girl's house, Setsuna was currently eating her favorite dino cereal when he sister popped in front of her out of nowhere. "So, your little boy toy managed to outplay the hero killer in his own game and kicked his butt."
The younger Tokage then said, "Yeah, something like that, but I can't tell you all the details, because he and bug brain would me swear not to tell a soul what happened that night."
The older one pouted, "And here I wanted to hear how my future brother-in-law was a total badass making the hero killer kneel before him."
The younger Tokage had her face become crimson red choking on her food. The older one began laughing as Setsuna said, "Stop that. it wasn't funny the first time and it isn't funny now."
The older one replied, "Well, it might not be funny for you, but it sure is fun…" She was cut off by her baby sister saying, "Well, how about that exchange student that I saw exchange spit with?"
The older girl eyed her sister before gaining a cheeky grin and smirked, "My, my, I didn't take that you had a thing for older boys too. Aren't you worried that your boy toy might think that you're cheating on him? That isn't very faithful, but I don't mind sharing." She winked at the end.
Setsuna proceeded to uncover a new shade of red at the thought, "Stop it. Why are so argh… annoying?" the girl quickly covered her red face between her hands.
Hana then laughed a little as she raised her hands, "Alright, I had my fun and I'm done." She continued to eat her meal before asking, "But I really want to know what happened, and how he stumbled on Stain. It isn't like the hero killer fell from the sky."
The green-haired girl nodded her head, "He said he heard fighting sounds coming from the alleyway, and he rushed there…" The girl then popped her hands and said, "…and just right there, low and behold, the hero killer was standing above Todoroki who almost became a popsicle."
"…a popsicle?" the older one asked wondering what is the story behind this.
The girl remembered Shoto's story and chuckled nervously a little, "He has a dual quirk that allows him to make ice and fire, but for some reason, he refuses to his fire even if it means his death or someone else for that matter."
Hana raised an eyebrow, "That's not very heroic." Setsuna shrugged; she couldn't do anything even if she wanted to. She knew if he counted like this, he would be expelled.
The older one then said, "Well, in news regarding your boy toy…" The younger girl flipped her off, "…mom sure had her top flipped off when she heard that he fought the hero killer."
Setsuna sighed, "Tell me about it. I had her talking my ear off for half an hour that I should stop seeing him since he's always looking out and causing trouble. I told her to shove…" She calmed herself down, "…I told her to calm down and not to jump to assumptions since Izuku saved everyone's life, and then she hit me with her ionic line 'I only want what's…"
"…best for your future'" the older sister finished the line they heard a hundred times ever since their parents became workaholics. "But look at the bright side, Dad said that he thought he was pretty cool."
The younger looked at her with an unimpressed look, "As if he has any kind of authority over Mom." Somewhere, Tokage's dad felt that his masculinity was being challenged.
The older one laughed, "Now, don't say that. Dad loves you very much. I bet the way to get to Mom is through him. if he accepts Izuku, Mom will follow soon. She has always been a follower of the mob."
The younger nodded her head. She then stood up and walked to her room and said, "I'm going to get ready. Izukun will be here any minute now."
Hana yelled, "Go get ready for your princess charming." She then heard a curse causing her to laugh before she resumed her breakfast.
Ten minutes later, Izuku and Setsuna were on their way to school. The girl was skipping happily while Izuku was looking at his own shadow to make sure that nobody was following him. his fans were terrifying. The girl was secretly laughing at his silly behavior.
The students entered the train and sat down. The moment Izuku sat down, someone recognized him and said, "Hey, aren't you one of the two that managed to beat the hero killer?"
Izuku gulped, "Yes, I-I'm Izu-Izuku Midoriya. My hero name is Viridian Guardian."
Others began to swarm them as Izuku tried his best to reply to their questions and Tokage held his hand to make sure that he doesn't pass out from stress till one girl asked them, "Are you two a couple because you've been holding his hand for a while."
The heroine blushed, "No, we're not a couple. I don't think we are." She said hoping to send a message to the girl that she was interested in him, but unfortunately, neither the girl nor Izuku got the message though Izuku was flustered.
The girl then went to her friend and said, "Did you hear that? the hottie over there is available. I'm going to try my chances with him…" Her friend put a hand on her shoulder and shook her head since she was able to get Setsuna's message.
The other girl said, "I don't think that he's available, plus Ren really likes you." The girl beamed at her friend and went to talk with the boy.
Tokage sat down and let out a relief of sigh as she didn't want to have her feelings known yet. She wanted them to be declared romantically, not on the subway train.
The two heroes-in-training then reached their stop and barely managed to exit the train and began walking toward U.A. as Izuku said, "I felt that I was about to die there. There were so many people." The girl laughed at him making the boy pout.
The girl then said, "You sure are something. I mean facing down a deranged madman; no problem. Facing some fans; it is so terrifying…" She then slapped his back making him almost trip, but he still laughed as well.
He then said, "I guess you have a point, but still it was really awkward."
The girl replied quickly, "You'll get used to it, Izukun. I mean heroes go on media all the time. What were you hoping? That you can flee the scene before any camera arrives." The boy began to whistle innocently making the girl roll her eyes as they continued their walk to U.A. chatting.
In U.A., inside the teacher's lounge, Mic came carefully behind his best friend Eraserhead and asked him, "Hey, Aizawa. Is something wrong? You don't seem funky today." It was true; Aizawa had bags under his eyes, a frown was carved into his face, his posture was gloomier than it usually was and to top it off he looked like he was reviewing his life choices.
"I'm just very happy that I'm about to expel 3 of my students; 2 of them that could have been avoided had I read their student files." The underground hero replied crudely before slamming his head into the table.
Yamada was now worried. His friend never felt bad about expelling anyone, so what gives?
"Sho, you usually expel students for the most ridiculous of reasons." The man glared at him, but he carried on, "I mean why are you so hung up?" 2 files were then slammed on the table causing the voice here to yelp in fear. The man looked at them and saw it was the files of "Todoroki" and "Iida".
The voice hero began to read them and said, "Okay, so where is the problem? I don't get it."
"Let's begin with Todoroki. His file mentions that he's anti-social and seems to hate to use his file from the interview during the recommendation exams." The man slumped, "Have I read that I wouldn't have glazed over the fact and the boy would have gone to general studies without a moment's doubt till he up his game…"
The voice hero shrugged a little, "Well, send him to Hound Dog. He's the therapist of the school on a technicality." He then noticed his friend look sheepish so he asked rubbing his eyes, "What did you say?"
The man said in a quiet tone, "I kinda said that going to a therapist is a waste of time and that a good hero doesn't need one." A couple of facepalms could be heard across the room from Present Mic to Thirteen, "and now the bridge is beyond burnt down."
Present Mic then said, "Let me guess, you also didn't send them to Hound Dog after the USJ, did you?" the man looked away scratching his chin.
The voice hero sighed, "Well, it all seems really bad, but why are so sure that he will be expelled from the hero course?"
The underground hero then said, "I had a very enlightening conversation with him at the hospital."
Something told Present Mic that this conservation was anything but pleasant from the look on his friend's face so he said, "It can't be that bad, can it?"
Aizawa looked at him and said, "Believe me when I say that it's worse than you might think…"
A couple of days back in the hospital after they left Midoriya's and Kamakiri's room, the nighttime hero walked both Shoto and Iida to their room. he looked at Iida who was clearly still fuming and said, "Stay outside. I want to have a chat with Todoroki for a bit before I talk to you."
The boy reluctantly nodded his head as the anger dissipated all of a sudden only to be replaced by fear as he finally understood that his teacher was pissed off, royally pissed off.
Once the teacher and student were inside the room, Aizawa's scarf wrapped itself around Todoroki who was shocked, "I didn't want to say anything in front of Midoriya, Kamakiri, and Tokage for the sole purpose of not hurting your pride given the fragile state it is in right now."
The man activated his quirk though it barely phased Shoto. The man asked him, "Why? Why did you risk it all the lives in that alleyway, but also wasted Midoriya's and Kamakiri's lives by hitting them?"
The boy looked at him and answered calmly, "It's like I told you sensei…" The scarf around his neck was tightened causing him to be silent quickly as his teacher made his displeasure clear.
The hero then asked again, "I will ask you again. Why did you do it? and I expect a real answer."
The boy snarled, "The hero killer was supposed to be defeated by my mother's ice and her ice alone. Those two kept interfering with me when I had everything under control, so they got caught in the fire. Not my fault that those two couldn't follow the easiest of instructions."
"That answer is one of the most ignorant answers I ever heard. Had you worked with them, the fight might have been over quickly and Native might have survived." Aizawa answered, but then added, "Even your father knows when to put his pride aside and work with others…"
This caused something that he would have never expected in a million years. A student raised his voice in front of him, "SHUT UP." This shocked Aizawa as he let go of his quirk for a moment and the room was almost frozen if he didn't activate his quirk quickly, "DID THE BASTARD PUT YOU UP TO THIS? HUH? HOW MUCH MONEY DID HE PROMISE TO GIVE YOU? I WON'T USE HIS FIRE…"
Aizawa had enough of his student's disrespect and wrapped the scarf around his neck tightening it and preventing him from speaking as he said, "It appears being nice and considerate didn't work out with you. And good thing that you mentioned your quirk, I was about to forget to ask you, why don't you use half of your quirk?"
The boy replied hotly, "I WON'T USE…" The boy then felt the scarf tighten so he lowered his voice, "I won't use his quirk under any situation. I won't give him the satisfaction of seeing me use it."
the hero retorted, "That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard."
The boy growled, but Aizawa carried on unphased, "You're a hero, Todoroki. You need to up your game or believe me when I say I won't hesitate twice to expel you. I will give you a small chance after the summer camp that we have planned after the final exams. If you don't start using your fire by then, you'll be expelled from the hero course."
The boy replied, "I won't ever use his quirk. I'll be a hero without his quirk."
Aizawa merely sighed as he said, "I'll send you to Hound Dog to talk this out with him. this can't continue." This was met by a scoff from Todoroki making Aizawa say, "Excuse me"
The boy then walked to the door and said, "Didn't you say that it was an unnecessary thing?" Never have the underground felt so dumbfounded by his words being used against him.
Present Mic was dumbfounded. All this happened and his friend didn't expel his student for disrespecting him. something must be wrong with the world. "If you're wondering why I didn't expel him. it's because I can tell that he suffered a lot of trauma with his fire so I can see why he was so apprehensive when I told him to use it."
The man then said, "This is his only and final chance." The man then added, "After that, I had a conservation with Iida, and it went as well as Nemuri's online blind dates. The boy whenever I tried to tell him anything, he would go on and on about how Midoriya ruined his career and how Stain was his kill. I almost expelled him on the spot."
"Why didn't you expel him then?" Now that was the million bucks question.
The man admitted, "I feel responsible for what happened in Hosu. I mean I knew that Stain was there and that it was weird that Iida chose to go to a relatively unknown hero. Part of me told me that he was going to go on a manhunt for the hero killer, but another told me that this is Iida so I thought that he would follow the rules like he usually did. It was only after the fact that I knew how wrong I was."
The voice hero rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah, I feel where you're coming from, but still…"
Aizawa only sighed when he saw Vlad enter the room. he then felt the urge to ask him, "Come, Vlad, I wanted to ask you why Midoriya and Kamakiri were punished."
The blood hero looked at him, "I just don't want them to gain an unhealthy habit of throwing themselves in dangerous situations. Though, I might have overdone it. I'll probably just change to double the amount of homework that I usually give them."
The men then all began to get ready for their classes since there were only ten minutes before their respective classes started.
Aizawa then thought, 'Today is going to be a very long and exhausting day'
In class 1-B, the students sat around merely chatting with each other as they waited for the guests of honor to arrive. They all wanted to swarm Izuku and Togaru, well mostly Izuku since their bug classmate would most likely lash out at them and tell them to go and die in a ditch.
Itsuka was the only one who had her arms crossed with an unpleasant look on her face. Sure, Izuku explained what happened, but she was still furious to no end. It was really reckless and dangerous, but she knew what he did was necessary. At the same time, that doesn't mean that she has to be happy about it, "…so then I used my quirk to make a mush…"
Kinoko looked at her friend and said, "Hello, are you still here? I'm talking to you." The girl waved her hand in front of her face causing the orangette to snap from her thoughts.
Kendo looked at her, "Well, I'm just worried for him. This is the hundredth time he threw himself headfirst into danger. I don't want him to make it a habit. I see him as a little brother who somehow has trouble following wherever he goes."
"I know," the girl said before adopting a happier tone, "but he's safe and that's all that matters."
Kendo sighed, "I guess that you are right, but still it was an idiot move." She then looked at the door and back at Kinoko, "What were you saying?"
The girl replied, "I was telling how I used some hypnotic mushrooms to cause some crooks to go to sleep. It was really shroomtastic." She then asked Kendo, "What did you do in your internship?"
The girl shrugged, "I merely did some surveillance, but I mostly trained with Yui and Ochako from 1-A. we also did some patrols, but nothing too serious."
On another side of the room, the chatter was full as Ibara said, "I spent the most beneficial time with Kamui Woods. He taught me different things about my vines and how to utilize them to the furthest extent. He was truly a wise mentor, though I did have the displeasure of Mineta and Kaminari from 1-A trying to peep on me while I was changing my clothes."
She then felt a vicious aura as Awase stood up and tried to move before Shishida grabbed him, "And where are you going, Sir Awase?"
The boy replied, "To skin those two perverts alive." Ibara giggled a little as she said, "No need for that, Kamui woods gave them a thorough lashing."
On another side, Juzo said, "Man, my uncle was really amazing. He taught all those tricks with my quirk. It was really awesome. I hope he accepts me when the work studies are around."
Kaibara added, "Well mine was informative, Drillmaster really had some interesting ideas for my quirk. I hope to try them out when I have the time."
The hero students then heard the door open. They all saw Kamakiri enter the room, and the truly brave swarmed him like Tetsutetsu who yelled, "Dude, you faced the hero killer. Tell me, what was he like? Did he manage to get a hit on? What did he look like?"
Kamakiri shoved him away walking to his seat. The bug boy sat down as other students besieged him and began asking him questions about the encounter. The boy hit his max as he yelled, "Give me a couple of minutes to catch my breath. I already had to avoid the people in the streets. I don't have to deal with you too." Everyone then backed away.
Tsuburaba then said, "Chill down dude, we just want to be sure that you're all safe and sound." The boy scoffed as he turned his head away from the bug boy.
Kamakiri then said quietly, "Thanks, but all of you swarmed me, so I just got bothered." The boy hoped no one heard him, but Kaibara did and snickered a little.
The drill boy then teased him a little, "Would you look at that? The big bad mean Kamakiri is finally coming out of his cocoon. Did the transformation take that much time?" the bug boy flipped him off as the other students laughed at them both.
Kendo then said, "All jokes aside, I'm glad that you're alright Kamakiri. I hope you didn't get injured too much when you fought the hero killer." The girl then thought of something and asked him, "How did you manage to find Midoriya?"
Kamakiri shrugged, "Stutter sent me a message telling me his location. I'm kinda sure he sent it to everyone. What did you think it was? Some kind of internship momentum?"
The hero students went quiet as Kendo said, "Well, I thought it was some kind of help message, but I never thought it was related to the hero killer."
Kamakiri eyed her, "So when you heard that he fought the hero killer, you never tied the two things together." Silence filled the room as the boy whistled, "This is kinda sad." No one disagreed.
The doors of the room were then opened as Izuku walked in with Tokage behind him. everyone looked at the boy and rushed him. The first person was Pony who barreled herself at him hugging him and crying, "Midoriya, I thought that you were going to die. I'm so happy that you're alright."
The boy blushed as he felt her chest pressed against his shoulder, but managed to stutter out, "I-It's alright, P-Pony. I'm completely fine. I was v-very i-injured." The girl then let go of him and he gave her a tissue unaware of the jealous girl beside him.
The others began to swarm him as he said, "Please one at a time, so I can answer you all. I don't have super hearing."
All of them disengaged as Kendo walked first to him and he gulped.
She quickly grabbed his ear and began yanking it, "Izuku Midoriya, do you have the slightest idea how worried you made me and Yui? I was already afraid enough when I saw the location, but fighting the hero killer? Did you lose it? you should've at least sent a message to the Miruko."
The class gasped. They didn't know that Izuku interned with Miruko. It was a rare occasion that she even accepts someone to work under her. it must be a miracle that came from the sky.
The boy replied still in the girl's iron grasp, "I had to. If I didn't, a lot of people would have died that night. There wasn't any time for me to hesitate. It was literally now or never."
The girl let go of him, and sat down with a frown on her face, "Still, you made me very worried. Even Yui was worried." She then grabbed the silent girl's face and said, "Look at her face. It's like a beaten puppy." The girl in question had a very calm expression on her face.
Yui finally said something, "I'm glad that you're alright, Midoriya." She removed herself from Itsuka flicking the orange girl's forehead, "Stop being so dramatic. He's fine, so everything's alright."
Bondo then shyly walked up to Izuku and said, "Midoriya-kun, you weren't hurt too badly during your encounter with the hero killer, were you?" the walking giant was fidgeting nervously.
Izuku waved his hand, "No not really, I had some injuries here and there, but nothing too serious."
Rin then said, "Hmm, how was the hero killer like? Was he really as bad as the reports described him to be?" The boy noticed Izuku pale a little and looked at Kamakiri who had a shiver.
Kamakiri replied, "You can bet your ass, he was. The dude more than lived up to his reputation." The boy began to hug himself, "It's like I was facing a phantom, not a human being."
Tsuburaba then said, "But I bet it was really cool meeting him." everyone looked at him like he was insanity personified. The boy looked around and said, "What? you can't say that I'm wrong. I mean people all around the country are talking about Stain and his crusade."
Many of them looked at each other and nodded their heads. After the capture of Stain, a lot of people began supporting him citing corrupt hero deeds and how due to Stain some areas had their heroes change their tone entirely in hopes of avoiding his wrath.
Kamakiri then scoffed, "Huh! That guy was nothing more than a lunatic who couldn't get what he wanted in life so he decided the best way to do as he pleased is to kill people." He then leaned forward, "No matter how good or wrong your intentions are, it doesn't matter when someone's life is wasted."
No one dared to say anything against this as Kaibara elbowed the bubble maker and said, "Great going dude. I'm sure that the awkward atmosphere must be worth it right now."
The bubble maker could only chuckle in embarrassment.
Izuku then sat down and said, "I think in theory Stain is right to some extent that some heroes prefer to be in the light more than in action, but he also forgot that every single hero saves lives."
Kamakiri looked at him and added, "Still doesn't forgive the fact that he ruins lives just because he feels people can't live up to his impossible standards." The class was silent till the door was suddenly opened and they saw Vlad walking inside the room.
At a moment's notice, everyone was in their seats and waiting for the man to give his orders, "Alright maggots, it's nice seeing you after this week-long internship though I suppose some of you saw me a little bit earlier…" he said eying Izuku and Togaru both whistling innocently, "…anyhow, All I have to say is that good work you managed to do your school proud during your internships. Now that's all I have to say for now, so I'll leave the stage now for…"
All Might bursted through the backdoor of the room yelling,"I AM HERE; entering the room through the backdoor."Everyone marveled at the hero and smiled.
Izuku said, "It's All Might. That's so cool." The blond hero sweat-dropped as he made a mental note to take with the boy about this, 'Young Midoriya, you've known me since last year. How the heck is still acting like you saw me for the first time in your life? This idolization of yours is getting a little bit out of hand here.'
The hero then walked to the podium smiling, "Well, students today we're going to have a little exercise in ground Beta so please make your way there." The man then left the room as quickly as he came. The students began to stand as All Might came again and said, "And by the way kids, the last person there will clean the gym in the afternoon. You have ten minutes to be there, toddles."
Kamakiri then jumped over everyone and said, "Later, suckers." Everyone then went into a mad dash toward the changing rooms not wanting to have the faith befall upon them. It wasn't something that they would fancy doing in the afternoon.
Soon enough, everyone was in training ground Beta with All Might standing there and smiling, "Well, I have to say that you exceeded my expectations. You all came here within…" he looked at his watch, "…4 minutes. Now that is something."
He then ushered him to follow him as he said, "I'm sure all of you have gained multiple skills during your internships with heroes. You must be excited to use them so today's exercise is to measure your progress after the internships."
The students nodded their heads as they all stood in front of the entrance of the training ground and All Might said, "Today's exercise is simple. All I want you to do is save the hostage and bring the case it has safely back to the base." He then looked at Ibara, Kinoko, Kaibara, Fukidashi, and finally Kamakiri, "and please remember to keep the damage down to a minimum."
The bug boy had looked at All Might who was pointing at him and gritted his teeth, "Do you have to point at me?" he then blew a gasket, "And stutter quirk causes more destruction than my quirk?"
The hero laughed as he said, "Alright, now the first part of the test is simple enough. You have to save the hostage which is me and take the briefcase from me to deliver it to the base. You will have a couple of obstacles such as robots and metal cutting lasers…"
The students paled as they all yelled, "WHAT? ARE PLANNING TO KILL US?"
The hero laughed a little and said, "Calm down, newbies. I'm just kidding. There is no danger to your life. And remember when you have the briefcase, the other students can follow to take it."
The students nodded their heads. All Might then said, "I'll divide into teams of 5. We'll begin with team A: Midoriya, Shiozaki, Kendo, Bondo, and Shoda. They will be followed by team B: Tetsutetsu, Komori, Kamakiri, Tsuburaba, and Kaibara. Following them will be team C: Tokage, Honenuki, Fukidashi, Yanagi, and Kodai. And we'll finish off with team D: Tsunotori, Awase, Shishida, Rin, and Kuroiro." He then pointed to the gate and said, "Team A, please take your positions."The students nodded and went to the front of the training ground while the others went to the observation room.
All Might went off quickly as a gun sound echoed and the 5 students ran after the hero. Izuku began jumping between the pipes like a rabbit, Ibara used the vines to move herself quickly, Kendo used her fists to move from pipe to pipe, Bondo ran quickly for his size, and Shoda was using his double impact to make a type of acceleration.
In the observation room, everyone was wondering who was going to win this event. Tetsutetsu said, "I think that Kendo has a decent chance of winning this. She's using the pipes as vines."
Kinoko then said, "I think that Ibara has a higher chance. Her quirk has the advantage here."
Fukidashi then added, "Don't count out Bondo yet. He's moving like a pro and he's quite nimble on his feet. I don't have an idea how he's moving this fast" the comic-projecting boy rubbed the back of his bubble thought.
Kaibara then said, "Hey don't count Shoda out. he still has a chance of winning this like everyone else." Everyone looked at him as if he lost it before looking back at the screen and watching it.
Kamakiri then said, "Stutter going to win it." everyone looked at him like he grew another head causing a vein to throb on the boy's forehead, "What's the problem with you people?" everyone was quiet because they didn't want to anger him any further.
Setsuna then said, "Well, to be honest, I didn't think that you'd ever take Izuchan's side."
The boy now had foam coming from his mouth making him look like a rabid animal from anger.
The boy took a deep breath before bellowing, "I CAN TOTALLY BE OBJECTIVE." Everyone began to laugh at him as he had a vein pop on his forehead, "There's nothing to laugh about…"
He was silenced when Tokage put a piece of gum in his mouth and she smirked, "Have a gum to calm down your breath." She waved her hand in front of her face, "Plus, you need some mouthwash." The girl then walked away leaving the boy boiling, but he then blew his breath in his fist.
The boy then quietly muttered, "It isn't that bad." He then crossed his arms and looked back at the screen to observe the rest of the first match.
Back with Izuku, the boy was jumping from pipe to pipe using the new techniques he learned from Miruko during his internship. The boy was sure he was going to win this. He then noticed vines coming his way meaning Ibara was catching up to him, so he increased the percentage of his quirk from 10% to 18% causing him to move with a wind blowing in his stead.
The vined-girl pouted a little, "I almost managed to pass him, but there is still a chance that I can win this by the favors of the lord up in the sky." She then used her vines as a catapult to launch herself toward All Might, and in an attempt to catch up with Izuku.
Not too far away from her was Kendo who was using her big fists to swing from one pipe to the other, but she had a frown on her face as she said, "From all the people, I just had to be in the same team with Midoriya and Ibara, but I won't just." The girl then increased the size of her fist to the max and flung herself into the air after swinging off a pipe.
A couple of meters away from her, both Bonda and Shoda looked at each other and sighed, "We stand no chance winning here, do we?" the gentle giant merely nodded his in agreement.
Shoda then said, "If we're going to lose, at least we lose in style." The boy then ran as fast as he can while Bondo made a line of glue toward a pipe and used it to climb toward the top of the structure.
All Might was now running as fast as he can to avoid the hero students. Well, he ran at a reasonable pace to make sure that it stays fair and the students can actually catch up.
Finally, he smelt a faint smile of ozone coming near him. he knew who this was as he looked behind him, and jumping from one pipe to the other was none other than Izuku. The man then saw the come closer to him so he picked up the pace as he heard behind him, "There's no reason to do that. I've already won the race."
The man didn't know what the boy meant till he said, "Burst Style: Hopping Steps." The boy in a short burst of 25% of OFA hopped from one to the other before jumping toward All Might and catching him making the man smile.
All Might then said, "Thank you for saving me, hero. Now, please return this briefcase to the building over there, so it can be safe from the villains tracking us."
The boy nodded his head as he quickly jumped away. The hero stood there proud of the fast progress his successor was making. He still felt deep down that he failed him given that the boy made it on his own without his help, but that made him prouder.
The hero then saw Ibara come next to him. The girl looked disappointed, so he said, "Young hero, the villain has managed to take some important documents from me. it is up to you now to go and stop him from giving it to his allies."
The girl nodded her head as she moved quickly while he stood there waiting for the others. He had to admit that expanding the exercise was much better than just having them catch the case only.
The green-haired boy was actually making time destroying the robots one after the other. It was actually easy bypassing the obstacles till cannon fire opened up and the rubber bullets began raining down on him causing the boy to try and dodge them. It was an honorable attempt, but he was hit nonetheless.
The boy finally had enough of this and turned his focus toward the canon firing the bullets at him and frowned. He then used an air bullet which hit the cannon and much to his surprise it wasn't even harmed. A note then fell in front of him that said 'Nice try. From Nezu'
The boy frowned as he made it a personal mission of his to destroy the cannon not knowing that he fell directly in the rat's trap. The boy quickly jumped from wall to wall till he reached the guns and suddenly something opened up and he was caught in a net that threw him to the ground.
The boy frowned. He then smirked as he lifted his hand and used the taser in his glove to electrify the cannon which stopped firing at him. he then lifted the net off of him only to jump to the side as a line of green passed by him. he looked to see Ibara slowly catching up and he had to say…
She looked terrifying… she used her vines as transport while making a huge shield with roots tangled everywhere. He felt that he was about to face god's wrath for a crime he committed.
The green-haired hero then dashed it as Ibara said, "please Stop, Midoriya. You can't escape god's judgment. Take your defeat humbly." The boy replied by sending an air attack which she used her vines to stop.
He looked in front of him and frowned at a horde of one-pointers. The boy then yelled, "Shoot Style: 15% Air Force" The winds were so strong that they ripped the one-pointers into shreds.
The chase between Ibara and Izuku continued till finally Izuku managed to make it into the zone and put the briefcase inside the designated area as sirens went off which began to congratulate him on a work well done.
The boy gave out a sigh of relief as Ibara neared him, "Congrats on your victory, Midoriya. I hope we get to have more exercises like these." The boy smiled and thanked her.
The hero students eventually gathered in the observation room and began the discussion as All Might said, "Can anyone tell me who is the MVP of the small exercise of ours?"
The students then began to talk among themselves till Juzo said, "If we wanted to state the obvious, I would say that Izuku is the MVP of the exercise. He followed the objective of the training. He didn't get distracted too much while he was taking down the obstacles and also managed to deliver the package in maximum time."
All Might rubbed his chin a little and said, "That's quite logical for you to say. Indeed, young Midoriya did as he was told, but he made some mistakes along the way. For once, he spent too much time fighting the robots."The boy in question blushed, "in addition, he wasted time trying to destroy the cannons that were firing rubber bullets at him which allowed the enemy time to catch up." The man then asked, "Does anyone have any different opinion?"
Setsuna raised her hand, "I think Ibara should be the MVP. She kept her head in the game from the beginning. Even when the case was taken, she took her duties seriously and focused on the objective without being distracted at all." She said counting on her fingers, "Plus she managed to put Izuchan a couple of times in the room forcing him to use a higher percentage."
All Might nodded his head, "That's correct. Young Shiozaki is the MVP of this exercise." This made the girl beam with happiness, but All Might then added, "But there's always room for improvement. For example, there are many times where she used direct attacks inside of stealthy ones which would have won her the match, but better than the beginning of the year." The hero truly meant it since many times Ibara would try to trick Izuku a far cry from how she was once they began the year.
The vine-haired girl nodded her head. It took a lot of effort to pull her tricks inside the run, but she did it. She hoped that she can do it next time more carefully and strongly.
The giant hero then said, "Onward with team B. Every one of you please go to the gates and get ready to race each other and try to capture me." the hero then went off to start his part of the exercise. At the end of this round, Kamakiri was declared MVP for managing to snatch the case from Kaibara after he got from All Might. The gyrate user did show a new trick though where he drilled underground to locate All Might and take him by surprise.
Team C then began their part of the exercise. The MVP of this round was Tokage. Even though Honenuki managed to get the case from All Might, he got too comfortable toward the end where he emerged from the ground and made himself an open target which Setsuna attacked took the case from, and won the race.
Team D finally took their part in the exercise. Pony was declared MVP for many reasons; her simple, but effective approach. Her speed in finishing the exercise. And finally figuring out Shihai's plans and stopping him from taking the case once she was near the finish.
The class was finally over as All Might stood in front of his students, "I have to say that you all have outdone yourself today, kids. Each of you did your best and showed off the new skills that you learned during your internships." The hero then smiled brightly, "I have to say that I'm proud of you, so keep up the good work."
The hero went away as the students went to the changing rooms.
They still had the rest of the day in front of them so they wanted to get back into school uniform as quickly as possible or they'll be late for their next class of the day. The boys were in the changing rooms when Tsuburaba whistled, "Well, lookie what we got here."
Everyone looked and saw a peephole in the wall. The boy then said, "This is amazing." He crawled toward it and stopped before moving away, "But I just can't bring myself to do it. I'm a pervert, but not to that degree." The boy simply walked away Bondo sealed it shut.
What the solid air user didn't know is that about 6 of his classmates were about to beat him down for peeping through that hole. The students then went to their class.
Back with Bakugo, the boy was having a hard time now, but he felt that he was making progress with the boy. The boy now didn't glare at him as much. He knew that he could do this. He just wanted to show the kid that he wasn't as bad as he thought him to be so he can save his chance of being a hero. The problem in front of him was simple; the kid was quirkless and he thought that Bakugo had beef with quirkless people. Although, he would admit that he didn't like them, but he'd never seek them out just to harm them; Midoriya to him was just a special case.
He was cleaning the front porch when he saw the kid running into the forest near the woods, so he followed hoping to catch him and maybe talk to him. Bakugo was right now thinking, 'Forget being a hero for a moment, I want to talk to that kid. He really reminds me of myself.'This also was one of the reasons why Bakugo wanted to talk to the boy because he reminded him too much of how he was when he was younger.
Inside a bar, Tomura looked at a man wearing a purple suit who just came out of Kurogiri's mist. The man then asked, "To what do I owe the pleasure of you summoning me?"
Tomura then threw at him a case of money, "We need a bunch of recruits for a little adventure of ours and we heard that you're the type of guy for this kind of thing, Giran."
The now-named Giran smiled, "Well, you heard correctly. It will take a couple of days though."
Tomura grumbled under his breath, but nodded his head, "It better be worth the wait." Giran nodded his head as he disappeared into Kurogiri's mist.
Tomura then said, "This little mission will absolutely ruin U.A. and the hero society, and shake people's trust in them."
