The End of Night
Kamakiri held the blade that Stain was holding tight between his blades. The boy looked down at Shoto and yelled, "Yo, ice cone. When you come back, take a rest. You seem about to fall over."
Stain then yanked his blade free from the boy and jumped back, "It seems that you're my perfect counter, but the question remains; can you keep up with me?" the man then bolted toward the boy and delivered a downward slash. Kamakiri raised his blade and blocked it.
The boy then popped a blade from his stomach forcing the man to jump back. The boy darted toward him slashing his blade to the side which the man blocked. The hero killer then sent a blade he was hiding inside his sleeve toward Kamakiri.
The boy due to his training managed to make a blade on instinct and blocked it as he ran toward Stain and clashed blades with him. The two began to swing and slash at each other for a little while before Kamakiri managed to get Stain's blade trapped between his.
The man looked the boy straight in the eyes, "So tell me, boy. Why do you want to be a hero? Is it for money? Is it for fame? Or perhaps is it for women? Are you a true hero or a fake?"
Kamakiri frowned at how this fruit loop was talking to him as if he were his best friend, "What are going about? Fake? True? I don't get it, and honestly like I told you before I don't care what you think or what others think for that matter."
The boy then pushed the man away charging toward him and delivering a thrust to the man's abdomen, but Stain managed to jump away and tried to stab the boy in the back, but Togaru made a blade appear from his back at the last moment blocking the attack.
Stain stood up from his position where landed and began to speak, "This world is full of fakes. People who only work for their own interest like that man over there." He pointed to the unconscious Native, "My job is to cull and kill those fakes. The only true hero is All Might. Only he can kill me. the rest are a bunch of fakes."
Kamakiri's eyes widened, "You are a crazy sociopath. No other word can describe someone like you. You're insanity personified. People can't be like All Might. No can be everywhere like him."
Stain frowned, "People don't get it. they're too blinded by this society's colorful flashes. They don't see how the world is filled with fakes. All I do is for a better society."
Kamakiri had a vein pop on his forehead as he charged the serial killer and clashed blades with him, "And you think that killing people is the best thing? You're a crazy person who doesn't know shit about how the real world works. You're just a rabid fanboy."
Stain didn't like this, "It would appear that we won't be able to see eye for eye, kid. I still can't judge you to see if you're worth keeping alive or not."
The bug boy gritted his teeth and yelled, "And who in their right man gave you the right to go and hurt innocent people? Who do you think you are? What do you gain by this? Who gave the right to go and judge who lives and who dies?" The boy ran and delivered a downward slash followed by a wheel kick with a blade popping from his heel, "You're nothing, but a failure who couldn't make it, so he chose to kill other people to give himself a purpose."
Stain attacked him, but Kamakiri parred the attacks and delivered hits keeping him occupied, "Who are you to take parents away from their children?"
Stain looked into the boy's eyes and he could tell that deep down there was a lot of anger against people. Kamakiri then delivered a side slash and managed to nick the man's dress shocking him.
"Tonight, you go down, hero killer." The boy made two new blades, "People will sleep better knowing that you're behind bars and that they don't have to worry about their loved ones from a crazy man acting like a judge who gives life and death."
Stain jumped in the air and came down with a slash, but Kamakiri jumped away, "You're a too arrogant kid. My work is important. I'm cleansing it from filth."
Kamakiri yelled, "Enough crazy talk. You said more than enough fruit cake. You did just this to justify killing people. You're no better than any other killer. You say you want to make society better by cleansing from fake heroes, but you only make more. Kids will grow up hating you and become heroes just hunting you down. You only create more fakes as you say it."
Stain didn't say anything at first, but then replied, "If that is what you think, then we can't reach an agreement then, I'll have to take you down.."
Stain and Kamakiri then began to engage each other in a sword fight till an ice wall separated them. The bug boy jumped away, "Woah, Todoroki. What in the world you almost got me here?" he then dodged Stain and kicked him away, "Be careful."
The boy who was on the ground said, "If anything, you're in my way. Get the others and leave. I had everything under my control before you and Midoriya showed up."
The boy looked at him like he lost his mind before focusing again on his opponent, "Hey, stutter. Can you move yet? I don't know how much longer I can keep him busy. This guy is pretty tough."
The green-haired boy looked at the bug boy and began trying to move his leg. Surprisingly, he felt it a little bit. The boy then yelled, "Only a little bit more. I can feel my body coming back. Just a couple more seconds."
Iida then said, "How? You were immobilized after me."
Izuku then said, "I think that his quirk is more than it appears. It isn't just about licking blood. It's also about what type of blood he licks. Mine is O+, so I suppose that I'm the one who has the shortest duration." The boy then began to stand up.
He took a deep breath and activated OFA at 15% and charged toward Stain punching hard in the chest sending the man flying away from Kamakiri.
The boy looked at him and said, "Took you long enough. What were you doing? Drinking tea." he then heard shuffling as they saw Stain stand up, "Get your battle face ready. Crazy is up for another round, and we need to end this quickly."
Stain then stood up and wiped the blood from his mouth, "You're a smart one." He pointed at Izuku, "My quirk indeed works on someone's blood type and type O is the shortest duration which my quirk takes, and B is the longest." The man lifted his hand before throwing a bunch of knives at the boys.
Izuku jumped and dodged them, while Kamakiri made blades come out of his body providing him protection from the razor-sharp weapon. The hero killer then went toward them as he jumped to slash Izuku, but the boy used a finger flick to throw him away.
The man flew to the ground as Kamakiri came and gave him a kick to the back before Izuku followed up and punched him in the chest. The man then swung his blade toward Kamakiri who dodged before slashing him with his own. The man ducked under it and jumped twisting his body and using his boot to try to injure Kamakiri, but Izuku grabbed and took him out of the way.
Izuku went to punch him in the face, but an ice wall stopped making him jump back as Stain leaped over the ice wall and came at him with a blade. The boy looked at Shoto and was a little bit peeved that the boy was willing to endanger his ally just for the sake of proving a point that he knows is wrong on some level, "For the love of god, stop doing that Todoroki. You're not helping."
The boy then used a finger flick and threw it toward the hero killer, but the man dodged it before he sidestepped Kamakiri who came at him with a powerful slash. The two engaged each other in a brief sword fight. It finally ended when Izuku punched Stain in the back causing him to lose focus and get slashed across his arm.
The man smiled, "Heh, this just got interesting." Both boys felt a shiver run through their spine but readied themselves for everything.
Iida then yelled, "What are you all doing? Stain is mine and mine alone to fight. Get out of here. I will be the one to take him down…"
Kamakiri cut him off, "Shut the fuck up. We're all going to die here. Get your head out of your ass if you're planning to see sunlight tomorrow."
Iida was shocked, but clenched his fist, "Shut up. You'll never be able to feel my pain. You, people, will never understand what I'm feeling right now. Stain is mine and only mine."
The boy then felt his body coming back to him. He saw Izuku throw a kick that caused violent winds and pushed Stain back, so he yelled, "Recipro Burst" The boy headed at large speeds toward Stain, but the man noticed him from before and jumped in the air.
Stain didn't stop there, he also struck a metal star inside one of Iida's engines on the left side causing it to explode from pressure and the boy to fall into horrible pain causing him to pass out eventually.
The hero killer looked at him and scoffed, "Stay down, fake. You shouldn't have stood up, to begin with." The hero killer then raced toward Izuku to slash him, but the boy slipped from under him and delivered a hard kick to the side causing the man to stumble.
'How much punishment can one man handle? This guy is intense!' Izuku thought with a frown.
Togaru came down onto Stain, but another ice wall erupted separating the two as Stain now jumped back having more space. "What the heck?" Togaru looked at Shoto and yelled, "Who's side are you on? I almost had him. stop doing that."
The boy then jumped away as Stain came at him. Izuku tried to deliver a kick, but an ice wall stopped him. He looked and saw Shoto standing with a determined expression on his face. The boy looked at him and said, "Go away. I will handle this with my mother…"
The boy didn't get to finish his sentence as Izuku neck-chopped knocking him out for a while.
Stain who was stuck in an intense struggle with Kamakiri asked him, "You'd knock out your own ally." The hero killer didn't like this. A hero shouldn't act like this.
"If it meant that it will save him, so be it." the boy appeared quickly in front of Stain and punched him in the face causing the man to lose his grip with Kamakiri who slashed him across the chest.
The man now retreated to the side as Izuku said, "I prefer to see him unconscious than dead by your hands." The boy crouched down, "Tonight, I will not allow you to kill anyone."
The hero killer smiled, "Truly the spirit of a hero."
The struggle between the three continued as Izuku knew that they were running out of time. The hero killer now wasn't kidding around. They had Iida injured, Todoroki unconscious, and Native's statue was unknown for the moment, but it didn't look good for him.
Izuku leaped in the air, "Kamakiri, jump away." The bug boy did that as Izuku yelled, "Shoot Style: Air Force" The boy sent strong wind causing the hero killer to be pushed back. Both he and Kamakiri followed that by attacking quickly with a kick and a punch respectively which he dodged the first and was hit by the second on his chest wound.
The man jumped away in pain as he used parkour to jump to the side of the wall, jumped at Kamakiri, and managed to pass the boy's defense and injure him a little drawing blood with a small knife. The man went to lick it, but Izuku came and activated the gauntlet's features. He made a flashbang, "Cover your eyes, Kamakiri."
The bug boy did just this as Stain was blinded giving Izuku enough time to tackle him to the ground and through the blade away from him. The boy then punched the man in the face, but the hero killer grabbed his fist and head-butted him causing blood to fall from his forehead.
The boy was dazed a little as the hero killer approached him and tried to lick the blood, but Togaru was faster as he kicked Izuku away and sent a blade he made downward.
The hero killer quickly came off the ground and made a backflip. The man then jumped high into the air as he threw multiple ninja stars toward the pair, but the boys managed to weave through them unscathed; Izuku used his finger flicks to change the direction of the stars while Kamakiri made many blades erupt from his body and protected himself.
Stain landed on the ground and said, "Impressive, but not good enough."
The hero killer dashed forward appearing in Izuku's face, but Togaru pulled him to the side before swinging his arm toward the man. Stain for his part blocked the kick and grabbed the boy throwing him over his shoulder before attempting to use his spiked boot to injure him.
Izuku then yelled, "Air force" The blast of wind hit Stain right in the face causing him to smash inside a wall. The boy rushed toward Kamakiri and helped him up before jumping away from the hero killer who just came back for more.
Kamakiri then said, "This is bad. This guy is a beast. He's taken so much punishment, yet he's still standing and fighting just like nothing happened to him."
Izuku nodded his head, "He's really strong, but he must have a limit. No one can go forever, especially with his injuries. He will eventually collapse from exhaustion."
Togaru lifted his arm blocking another hit from the man who was like a rabid animal at this point. The boy then swung under a blade and moved away as Izuku rushed in with an uppercut, but the hero killer dodged barely as he was still partially hit by it.
Stain then said, "You too are strong, but can you keep up?" the man dashed forward at remarkable speeds toward Izuku. The man swung his blade, but Izuku rolled away from him.
Togaru then came and used both his arms to attack the hero killer, but this caused a sort of a stalemate between both combatants as the boy was Stain's perfect counter as he can protect himself from every angle, and the man had years of experience under his belt.
Izuku at this point was beginning to get nervous. OFA was starting to take its toll on his body. He was beginning to feel tired, and he could also see Kamakiri panting from making so many blades. He needed a plan to defeat this lunatic and quickly.
The boy then remembered one last trick the gloves he had can make. It was risky since Mei herself told him that they were experimental, but what choice did they have at this point? The boy looked at his glove and took a deep breath, "Kamakiri, let's keep him busy for a few more seconds."
"Easy for you to say," the boy said as he pushed the man away, "You're not his personal shit list."
Izuku quickly marched forward. The boy jumped and used a hard clap, "New York Smash" The man was hit by a strong shockwave. The man was sent smashed into a wall causing him to be dazed for a moment.
Izuku looked at his green-haired classmate, "I have one last trick up my sleeve. We just need to time it right, and it should help us take down Stain once and for all." The other looked hesitant but nodded his head.
The two heard Stain groaning as they readied themselves with Kamakiri whispering, "What do we have to do?" Izuku leaned in and told him what to do.
Kamakiri then ran toward Stain, "Come and get some, you crazy fruit loop." The boy then began to attack him with reckless abandon catching the man by surprise and making him wonder what the boy was up to.
The man was dodging attack after attack from the bug boy who he had to admit was not giving him space. The man had to be honest to himself that he was starting to feel sore all over his body. The hits and the slashes added to them the bleeding wasn't helping that much.
The man then pared Kamakiri's blade and was about to hit him when the boy ducked under it as Izuku came with a finger flick that hit the man straight in the chest followed by the bug boy who kicked in the abdomen followed by a slash to his hand causing to lose the blade.
Kamakiri then rolled away as Izuku came barreling in and uppercut the man sending him into the air. Both boys used the walls as platforms to jump to Stain with Izuku readying his leg for a kick and Kamakiri waking two blades appear from his chest and back and began to spin.
"Manchester" "Mars" Izuku then kicked Stain hard in the face using 8% not to kill the man while Kamakiri slashed his back, "Smash" "Slash"
The man was sent to the ground and smashed against it as Izuku then launched something from his glove. It was an electrified net that connected with Stain and fried him into unconsciousness.
Both boys then landed on the ground and looked at the man.
Izuku then approached him carefully with Kamakiri reading himself to continue fighting should he need to. Izuku then lifted the net and checked the man. He looked at the other boy and nodded his head.
Stain was finally out of the game…
This made the bug boy take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief, "Phew, I thought I was going to die tonight. This was horrifying, to say the least." He wasn't as battle crazy as people made him out to be. He had a sensible head on his shoulders; thank you very much.
Izuku then threw to him a couple of antibiotics and bandages. The boy looked at them before looking at Izuku fixing up Stain. He quickly understood what Izuku wanted and went to help Iida. The boy did his best which was decent; he had first aid lessons given the nature of his quirk.
Izuku then stood up and said, "Do you think you can help me tie him up?" he then noticed the boy looking at him with a blank face, "What? Did I say something wrong?"
Kamakiri shook his head, "No, but why are you asking me? Do you think I can make black whips from my hand or we will find a rope laying around and about over here?" the boy kicked a trashcan which fell open and a rope came from it causing his eyes to widen. He then added, "And a million bucks will fall on me from the sky."
When nothing happened, he grumbled about how life favored stutter over him. the boy gave the rooms to Izuku as he went to check on Native, "Oi feather head, do you hear me?"
The boy shook him slightly, but the man didn't answer. Kamakiri wasn't worried at first given the man was unconscious, but upon closer inspection, he began to feel worried as he saw the pool of blood under the man. The boy leaned in and checked his pulse.
The boy was horrified at the result and he backed away slowly, but fell as he said in a quiet voice, "No"
Izuku then looked at the boy and walked to him, "Kamakiri, what got you so shaken up?" the boy looked at him and stayed silent for a moment, "Is there something wrong?"
The boy then gritted his teeth and said, "Native… he's… he's…" The boy couldn't bring himself to do it. sure, being a hero was a life-or-death business, but seeing it so soon really shook him up.
Izuku was now worried and asked, "He's what?"
The bug boy then answered him, "He's dead. He died while we were still fighting Stain. We failed."
Izuku was shocked. He failed… no, he was the future symbol of peace. He was supposed to save everyone. He went to Native to check his pulse and sure enough; it was not there.
Both boys looked at each other not sure what to do. This night was a complete shit mess. They looked around them, and for the first moment since defeating Stain saw that their victory came, but at multiple losses. First, Native was dead. Second, Todoroki was freezing over due to the overuse of his quirk and would probably need to get to a hospital before hypothermia and frostbite kicked in. Third, Iida was injured from his arms where Stain stabbed him and his leg was now in a complete mess and needed to be rushed into an E.R.
Finally, both boys were injured and lost… they might have won the war, but at what cost.
Izuku then gulped and said, "Come on, moping won't help us. Help me strip Stain of his weapons before I tie him up. I'll carry him and Native, and you carry Todoroki and Iida." The boy nodded his head without hearing much since he was still in shock.
The boys finished searching Stain for weapons and began to walk out of the alleyways in utter silence. There was nothing to be said and there was no victory to be celebrated.
They finally reached the streets. They looked and saw multiple heroes come around. They looked at them with awe as Endeavour walked forward and said, "What are you kids doing with my…"
He then noticed the man Izuku was carrying and asked, "Is that the hero killer?"
Izuku set him down with Native as Kamakiri then set down both Iida and Shoto saying, "Yeah, we managed to beat the crazy piece of shit up. Take ice cone and Sonic to a hospital quickly; they need the help. Don't bother with Native though, he won't need it…"
One of the flame hero's sidekicks then said, "Why not? He needs immediate medical attention."
This caused a vein to pop on Kamakiri's forehead as he yelled, "Are your eyes for decoration or something? Can't you tell that he's fucking dead?"
The heroes were shocked and gasped, but they didn't manage to remain like that for too long as the winged Nomu came down from the sky and grabbed Izuku, and began flying away with the boy.
The heroes couldn't react in time, but then something moved faster than they all can perceive, Stain jumped from his bindings as Kamakiri said mentally, 'What the fuck? He can still move after everything we put him through.'
The man then took a blade he had hidden in a secret compartment inside his sleeve and stabbed the Nomu causing it to fall to the ground. He then killed the beast grabbing Izuku as he said, "You are all fakes… you all deserve to die…" He then looked at Endeavor who readied himself, "Endeavor, you are the worst of those fakes… I must purge you."
His mask then flew up as he released an intense aura causing everyone to freeze in place from fear, "The only man allowed to kill me is All Might. Everything I do is for the sake of a better society."
All the heroes were frozen in fear. None of them were able to move, but a few moments passed and the hero killer didn't make any move, so Endeavour walked up to him and flicked his forehead.
Like an empty tree trunk, the man let go of Izuku and fell to the ground with a thud. Everyone was shocked that the hero killer passed out while standing. It was a sight to see, to say the least.
The heroes then quickly went and apprehended Stain, but not after searching him for any weapons that he might still have on him. it was a hectic process. The man still had at least 10 weapons on him. All students were quickly rushed to the hospital to have their injuries checked and treated. Shoto was put inside multiple heat blankets which caused him to come back, and he glared at both Togaru and Izuku; the former flipped him off as he glared back. Iida was quickly rushed into the ER.
Back with the news helicopter, the news agencies were all over the place when their sources told them that the hero killer was finally taken down, but couldn't specify by who due to the secrecy of the heroes.
One of the news reporters yelled in exasperation, "Why couldn't they tell us who? This would have made the story of the century and first-page news for at least the next 3 months. I really hate this."
Her cameraman patted her on the back, "Don't feel bad. I feel for you, but there's nothing we can do. We'll just have to take the official report that the police will give out, and make the best out of a bleak situation. I mean the Hosu incident will be good enough."
The woman sighed, "I suppose so… that…" The helicopter suddenly swerved to the right sharply causing her to yell at the pilot, "Oi, watch where you're going! You almost threw me out of this thing."
The man looked back at her and said, "Sorry, ma'am, but something appeared right in front of the aircraft and I was forced to do that."
The woman gritted her teeth, "And what in the world…" She then noticed something on a nearby water tower, "Go over there. There's someone on that tower." She then noticed other news helicopters converging in the area.
Back with Tomura, the villain smiled. he had asked Kurogiri to attract the attention of the media news here, so he can give a speech and capitalize on the defeat of Stain to attract hopeful members to the League of Villains.
He still remembers Sensei's words, 'Tomura, you must begin gathering the villainous elite to help you with your goals. After all every strong commander needs strong people to help him do the job."
Once the news helicopters were there, Tomura began his speech, "Good afternoon Japan, I'm Tomura Shigaraki. The leader of the League of Villains."
News stations from all around the country cut their regular broadcast to get an exclusive on what the villain was going to say, and so did radio stations. The villain continued to speak, "I am here to give you a message." All eyes were plastered on him as higher-ups in all authorities were trying to cut the broadcast off.
Tomura then opened his arms and said, "The age of heroes is over. Tonight, we saw how heroes are ineffective as they couldn't stop the attack on Hosu. The damages that this city suffered will take ages to recover from, and many people were injured and even probably died, but worse some heroes caused more good than bad by reckless acts, favoring to rescue people while the cameras were on them, and escaping from the scene altogether. This is the tip of the iceberg of this false hero society that has been controlling lives all over these years."
Tomura smiled as some reporters were using their phones to film him, "This society has placed a mold for us to work forward as if everything that they do is right, and everything that we do is wrong. This society has placed on us standards that we are forced to live up to unless we want to be thrown aside, and they succeeded in doing. Tell me how many people have been kicked out of their families due to their quirk that didn't fit the mold? Tell me, how many times have heroes kicked away hopeful hero applicants just because their quirk wasn't flashy or strong? How many times have heroes looked with disgust at people with mutant quirks or villainous quirks? How many times have people with a seemingly 'villainous' quirk been kicked to the curve due to being mistaken for a villain? We must put an end to this." Shigaraki clenched his fist raising it.
The man then carried on, "That's what Stain was working against. Instead of heading Stain's warnings, they hunted him down like a dog and defeated him to take him down to bring him into prison. That's why I want to announce that us," he looked directly at the news reporters, "that us; the league of Villains will carry on the legacy of Stain. We will work to make a better future for everyone, so everyone who shares Stain's ideology please join us so we can work as one to destroy this hero society."
The man then looked at Kurogiri and said, "Teleport us away." The man smiled as he saw the flame hero flying toward them. The mist man teleported them just as the man approached them.
Endeavor then screamed in anger, "Damn it. I lost that moron."
Inside a dark building, a lone figure sat on top of a body. The figure then bent down and sunk its teeth into the body, and began to drink its blood. Once the figure was finished, she turned on the radio she had and listened to Tomura's speech. He then smiled like a crazy person, "I like Stain. I love Stain. I want to be Stain. I want to drink Stain's blood. I want to be Stainy."
The figure then walked away with a crazy look on his face.
Inside an alleyway, a man was sitting on top of a bunch of burnt bodies.
The man looked at his phone and heard Shigaraki's speech and said, "Well, that's interesting. It won't hurt to check them out for a little bit and see if they're legit Stain followers." He then lifted his hand and blue flames came out of them.
On a roof, a lone figure was sitting alone as he watched everything. He was saddened by the news of Stain's capture, but he wasn't to let the man's sacrifice be in vain. He was going to carry on his will. He was going to join this league of villains.
Inside an elder house, a man who was arguing with himself walked out. he headed toward any place where he can find the League of Villains. He needed to find them so he can find a home.
A small boy looked at the fire outside his house. He didn't understand why the people were angry at his family. They were yelling calling out for his and his mother's blood. His father looked at his mother and said, "Go out of the back door. I'll hold them while you escape, then I'll catch up to you."
The woman wanted to argue, but the banging on the door scared her. having no choice, she grabbed her son and ran through the backdoor as she heard people yelling, "Kill them" "Purify the filth" "They don't deserve to live" "Those are monsters, not humans"
The boy heard his dad talking to the masses, but the cries of hatred only increased. The boy looked at his mom and asked her, "Mom, why are they angry at us? Did we do something wrong?"
The mother looked at her kid with sympathy, "No sweetie, don't think about it. we just need to go."
The boy then asked her, "What about Dad? When will he come? will they hurt him?"
The woman smiled and said, "No, your dad will come back. He's just talking to them." The boy looked back at his house to see it ablaze. He only hoped his father was alright.
A couple of weeks later, cops came by and brought his father. It wasn't what he expected. What they brought were his father's remains. He was sad, angry, and confused. And he was even angrier when the cops said that his father died in an electric accident that caused the house to burst into flames. He saw them lying clearly, but couldn't do anything as his mom held him back.
When the police left, his mother looked at him. She saw that anger and said, "Look, I know that you're angry, but promise one thing you won't allow it to control you." The boy nodded as he sniffed back his tears.
It was years later that he determined to become a strong hero to bring justice to his father.
Kamakiri woke up from his dream gasping for air. It was the third time that he saw this horrible memory. He shook his head as he looked at the bandages on his body.
The encounter with the hero killer really brought back bad memories.
The man's disregard for human life. His willingness to kill people not caring how he's harming others just for some crappy belief of his reminded him of the worst night of his life. In his eyes, he might as well relived that horrible night.
He looked around and saw Izuku staring out the window with a distant look. He couldn't blame him; last night was intense, to say the least. Even when the nurses were bandaging them up, both boys didn't flinch when needles pierced their skins. The height of their night when he and Izuku asked to be given a different room due to Shoto glaring at both of them and ice falling off him. They weren't sure, but he seemed to be waiting for them to sleep so he can attack them; now, they subconsciously knew he wouldn't do that, but better safe than sorry.
Izuku then looked at him and smiled a little, "Kamakiri, you're up. I hope you had a good night yesterday or as good as it can get given what happened." The boy looked a little bit tired.
"Yeah, but I had some nightmares here and there. You don't just come out unscathed after something like this." Izuku nodded his head and they both sat in silence.
Izuku then looked up and said, "Oh, right. The nurses came by earlier and said to expect the police chief to come and talk to us. I just hope that we aren't in too much trouble."
The bug boy scoffed, "Trouble for what? Defending ourselves? The genius will probably start spewing some self-proclaimed bullshit about how we acted like vigilantes. Luckily for me, I had a mentor's permission to use my quirk if needed, and I'm sure Stain meets the requirement."
Izuku then nodded his head, "Yeah, me too. Miruko told me to report to her if I saw Stain and not to engage unless necessary…" The boy began to pale as it dawned on him, "I didn't report that I found Stain to Miruko…" The boy shivered, "She's going to kill me."
Kamakiri began to laugh when suddenly the doors of the room were swung open. Both boys looked and saw Setsuna looking at Izuku like he killed her dog or something. The girl marched forward and grabbed his cheeks and started pulling them, "Why weren't answering your phone? We've been worried all night about you."
The boy then moved her hand and said, "Oh, good morning, Setchan." The girl smiled sweetly. In fact, Izuku noticed that she smiled almost too sweetly. The next thing he knew was extreme pain in one of his joints.
The girl then pulled his ear, "Oh, don't 'Oh, good morning, Setchan' me." she let him go as she asked him, "Do you know how worried I was when I knew that you fought the hero killer?"
Both boys looked in shock at the girl and Kamakiri asked, "Oi, lizard brain." The girl glared at him but he didn't care, "Where did you hear about that? I'm sure that none of us told anyone about this."
The girl looked at them shocked and confused, "Are you kidding me?" she brought up her phone and said, "Apparently, someone managed to take a shot of you both manhandling Stain before handing him to the heroes, and giving it the news. She gave them both the phone, "See for yourselves."
The boys looked at the phone and like what Setsuna said; they were on the news. There no was front page other than themselves 'Heroes-in-training manages to do what countless heroes couldn't: Stain Bloody Campaign is Over'
Kamakiri exclaimed, "What the heck? How did they even get that shot? Were they watching us?" he turned to Izuku and said, "How come you didn't see anything?"
Izuku defended himself, "ME?" he then pointed at the bug boy and threw at him the same question, "What about you? Why didn't you see anything?"
Tokage cut them off, "Well, there's no use moping about it anymore. The cat's already out of the bag at this point, so you all need to find a way to make this work when we go back to school." She then looked at Izuku and said, "Check your phone. Everyone from class is worried about you. Even some from 1-A."
Kamakiri scoffed, "What about me? I'm not chopped liver, you know?" the boy crossed his arms and looked away in frustration.
"None except Izuchan has your number after he asked Vlad King for it." the girl explained, "Plus, they're sending their regards through him."
Kamakiri then said, "Well, it's nice to see you all care about me much."
"Whatever," she then sat beside Izuku and said, "Again; what in the world were you thinking going up against the hero killer? What kind of B.S. were you high on to make such a risky move?"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head, "Well, do you remember Iida from class 1-A?" the girl nodded her head, "Well, he apparently went after Stain to hunt him down for harming his brother…"
The girl gasped, "Wait a moment… you mean Iida. Tenya Iida. The boy who's such a rule follower that he actually has a ruler to make sure he walks straight so he can't be accused of day walking."
Izuku nodded his head, "Well, I went there to initially save him, but then I kinda found Todoroki there doing god knows what…" The boy then laid back on his bed, "And then I sent a message to everyone I know to come here, so Kamakiri came. After that we fought and the hero killer was taken down."
"Wait, I need to ask you something," Both boys looked at her, "In the video, it showed both awake and going at it, but why was Todoroki out of it? I mean I get frostbite, but still…"
Izuku didn't want to answer this question since he didn't want to put Shoto in a bad light, but Kamakiri didn't have such reservations, "The asshat was sabotaging our fight at every turn, so stutter knocked him out." the girl was confused even further, but the bug boy said, "You'll hear everything once the police come."
Izuku quickly tried to change the conservation, "So tell me Setchan, did you do something exciting in this internship? And how did you come here by the way?" he was sure that students couldn't leave their agency without the hero that they are working under.
Setsuna smiled, "Well if you need to know how I came here, it took a lot of begging and hard work." She then scratched her cheek, "Also, I kinda bribed him with his favorite food."
Both boys fell over laughing that all it took was a meal to bribe Edgeshot. The girl shot him a glare, "As for anything exciting, well…"
It was a couple of hours before the Hosu attack, Setsuna was fucking excited because she was about to go on her very first mission with Edgeshot. Well, it was a small drug ring that consisted of four members, but still, it was exciting.
She wore her suit in record time and got herself ready. They then went to the hideout as Edgeshot said, "Lizardy, I need you to be very careful. Even if they are small fry and you aren't the real deal, rats can become dangerous when they're cornered." The girl nodded her head.
She then divided herself into small pieces that went through 3 different passages to give her more area. The ninja hero then made himself a thread and entered through the ventilation shaft.
The heroine's eyes reached the room where the thugs were readying their next batch. From the corner of her eyes, she can see that her other parts were already there. One of the men said, "Man, this is such an easy thing. Making drugs under an old abandoned hero agency. Who would think to come here?"
The other criminals nodded their heads, and even Tokage had to admit that it was a smart move, but the fun time was over.
The girl made one of her parts push a box off a shelf which fell on the head of one of the drug dealers. The man was out like a light as Setsuna said, "Well boys, I have to give it to you that it was a smart move, but…"
Edgeshot then came down and knocked out another criminal, "…it's over."
After that, the two other dealers just gave up making the girl frown a little since she expected them to put up more of a fight, but she didn't say anything.
Edgeshot in the end told her that she did a good job.
"…I have to admit that it kinda lacked luster, but I can't choose crime, can I?" the girl said.
Kamakiri shrugged, "Well, my day yesterday was pretty normal till Hosu and so was Stutter's."
Izuku then said, "That was kinda cool, but I'm sure that you'll have more exciting missions further on." The girl nodded her head. The boy took out his phone which was ringing with many messages and a phone call from Kendo under the name 'Big Sis', "Oh dear lord, she's going to give me an earful…"
Once the boy opened the line, "IZUKU MIDORIYA, WHAT IN HEAVENS SAKE WERE YOU THINKING GOING AFTER THE HERO KILLER? DID YOU LOSE YOUR MARBLES BEING KICKED AROUND BY MIRUKO? EXPLAIN YOURSELF INSTANTLY." The boy was about to speak when Ituska added, "And Yui is very disappointed in you and is giving you her disappointed face. And Ochako from 1-A says that you rock by the way." His phone buzzed and it was a picture of Yui with her expression the same as always except for slight changes in some areas, though he was flattered by Ochako's compliment.
The boy then explained what happened to her, and she said, "Well, I guess that makes sense. The most exciting thing I done is stop a shoplifter and was a foot-tall midget. I chased him all across town with Yui and Ochako till we finally caught him."
The boy nodded his head as the girl hung up. He then read a message from Kinoko asking if he was alright, and he quickly replied. Tetsutetsu also called and they talked for a minute before hanging up due to the line being cut from Tetsu's side.
Setsuna said, "I heard that Fourth Kind is really strict with time."
The three sat in silence till the door of the room was opened. They all looked and saw Iida in a wheelchair with the angriest expression in the world. The boy looked at Izuku and yelled, "YOU!"
The boy pointed at himself in panic and confusion, "Me?" he had no idea what this was about.
The boy moved forward, "It's because of you this happened to me. do you even have the slightest idea what you did to me because you interfered? My quirk in my left leg is down by at least 50% due to the hit that Stain gave me. Have you not interfered with our fight, he wouldn't have done that."
The boy was beyond confused. This was his fault, but how? Iida was the one who blindly charged at the hero killer. Izuku did his best to save him, so he chose to speak carefully, "Iida, I can assure you that I meant no harm to you, and this wasn't my fault. I was just trying to help. You're the one that kept charging at Stain…"
The boy shut him off by yelling, "And who asked for your help? And some good did that give me? I was the one supposed to defeat Stain and kill him. instead, I'm stuck in a wheelchair for the next month and I need therapy if I want to continue my hero career. You ruined my…"
Kamakiri who had enough of this, "Shut up. We saved your life. At the very least if you don't want to show gratitude, don't blame us for your stupidity. We almost died yesterday just to save your hide. We saw things no first-year should ever see. Show some consideration."
Iida gritted, "You saved my life? I didn't ask anyone to save me. I had everything perfectly under my control. If you two and Todoroki didn't interfere, I would have been fine."
Kamakiri scoffed, "Sure, you laying there on the ground must have been part of the plan."
Setsuna then interjected, "Iida, please calm down. I want you to think carefully about last night. Izuku and Kamakiri saved both your life and Todoroki's. I know it must be hard to see your ideal and big brother crippled and you had every right to have your retribution, but you almost died. You should be happy that you only lost some power in your left leg."
The boy yelled, "Be quiet. That's none of your concerns. Stain was mine and mine to take down. You three took him out and gave him a getaway from justice, and crippled me for an unknown amount of time…"
Setsuna then shouted back, "Look, we get it. you're hurt, but Izuchan and Kamakiri had to save you from death. And since when did heroes kill people even if they were villains? Choose your words carefully, Iida."
The boy was about to reply when a voice said, "You know she's right, Iida. Choose your words carefully. The boy turned around and saw a couple of people entering the room. it was the heroes that each of the people involved with the Stain takedown with their homerooms teachers, the chief of the police of Hosu, and Shoto who was glaring at Izuku.
Iida paled like a ghost, while Izuku and Kamakiri gulped due to their teacher's unimpressed look, 'We're screwed.' Izuku looked at Miruko who gave him a thumbs-up before making a fist and pounding it into her hand; she was proud but he was definitely going to pay for it later. The weapon hero looked at Kamakiri and simply sighed. Manual looked at Iida and had a face of disappointment whether it was for Iida or himself; the jury wasn't sure about that, and finally, Endeavor had a very harsh glare directed toward his son who went and sat beside Kamakiri on his bed.
The chief of police then spoke, "Before I say what I need to say, did any of you leak yesterday's video?" both boys shook their heads as Kamakiri said, "We had no idea. we're just as shocked as you are. Besides, isn't it your job to find out?"
The man studied Kamakiri for a moment before saying, "I suppose that you are right, woof."
The 5 students had a question mark appear over their heads as they all thought, 'Seriously, woof?'
The man then said, "Let me introduce myself in the beginning, I'm Kenji Tsuragamae…"
The man pulled out some papers, "According to the medical teams, Stain have sustained various injuries; most of them slashes and broken bones. I have to admit that you two…" he said looking at both Izuku and Kamakiri, "…did quite the number on him. luckily for both of you, nothing was life-threatening. He's currently receiving treatment under the watchful eye of the police, woof."
The students looked at him confused as to where he was getting at, "Since you're U.A. students, you all know the importance of the law that regulates superpowers to not be used at one's whim and pleasure. That's why the profession of heroism was a way to help fight those who feel that they are above the law. For individual's use of force and power that can kill others… actions that normally would be appropriate to denounce… to be accepted is thanks to early heroes…"
He was cut off by Kamakiri who said, "Get to the point, are you accusing us of being vigilantes?"
Vlad King was appalled by this, but the chief didn't seem to be bothered much, "If you want to put it that way, then yes. You 4 broke regulations and attacked the hero killer to cause injury with the intent of harming him. This means that you 4 and the heroes you were working with will receive severely…"
Izuku cut him off by raising his hand and the man allowed him to speak, "Actually sir, Miruko allowed me to use my quirk, and told me I could engage the hero killer if it was a life or death situation. And it kinda was since Iida and Todoroki were out of the game by the time I found them…"
The man hummed for a moment and looked at the rabbit hero asking her, "Is that true?"
The woman nodded, but then added, "Though I told him to tell me should he ever find him…" there was an underlying threat there that caused Izuku to hang his head in shame.
"Hmm, we'll overlook that given the fight or be killed-situation…" He then looked at the others and asked, "What about you? Did you have permission to use your quirks?"
Kamakiri nodded, "Yeah, Yori Musha gave permission to use mine in an absolute case of emergency and I'm sure the hero killer fits the category."
Shoto replied shortly, "Yeah, me too. You can ask him if you want."
Tenya was now dazed. What should he do? Should he lie and hope his mentor covers up for him or should he tell the truth and hope for the best? All the anger he felt a few moments ago was gone and replaced by fear. The boy finally reached a decision, "No, he didn't give me permission."
"Hmm, now another question; why didn't any of you try to leave and escape the hero killer?" the chief of police asked.
Izuku replied, "Sir with all due respect, it was impossible to do that without sacrificing someone. Stain was relentless. He just didn't give anyone a chance to move. We only managed to win after inflicting so much punishment on him, he just kinda stopped fighting at the end."
Kamakiri nodded his head, "That guy was a monster. He was all over the place. I could barely see him move, let alone keep up with him or escape him. He would have ripped me all over if it wasn't for my quirk."
He then said, "Alright then, since the cat is already out of the bag regarding you two…" he said looking at both Izuku and Togaru, "The police will work on a narrative that fits the event of yesterday's night. Have a nice day, kids." He then walked to Aizawa and Vlad and said, "They're all yours, men."
But before the chief finally left, he looked at the boys one more time and said, "Thank you for your services…" He went to leave, but Izuku called out to him. The man turned to Izuku and raised an eyebrow.
Izuku asked, "What about Native? Aren't we gonna be blamed for his death?"
The chief shook his head, "Young man, this is the hero killer we're talking about. Native was mortally wounded. Doctors said even if you managed to bring him to the hospital on time, he would've still died since he lost so much blood. the hero killer cut an artery in his leg and with his stomach wound, he was a goner. I'm sorry that you had to see that so early in your school year, but rest assured, I'll send someone for you and your friend to talk to."
The two teachers looked at their students. Vlad spoke first, "Well first off, I'm extremely pissed off, to say the least, but since no regulations were broken, I'll let slide this time around. You won't be punished too harshly; you only need to clean the gym after the 3rd year for the next two months…"
Both boys paled, "Next 2 months… that's a lot of time."
"Wanna make that next 8 months." Both boys' mouths were sealed shut. Vlad then walked away from them and said, "See back in school boys. Get ready to clean the gym because those 3rd years really like to put sweat into their work."
Aizawa wasn't as forgiving as Vlad. the man then said, "This goes for all you four," the man began to speak, "Yesterday's events shouldn't have happened. now I don't know how, but I will find out. Native died and on some level, you all hold responsibility. Now, I'll be frank; if I was to blame someone from you four, I won't blame Midoriya and Kamakiri given that they had to fight to survive." he then turned to his students, "As for you two, it's a whole different story. you two showed an attitude problem, and that's only taking after I saw the scene. Believe me when I say that I'm very tempted to expel you both because your actions lead to someone's death. the only reason you both aren't expelled is due to Endeavor and Tensei giving me a good word that something like this won't happen again."
He looked at Shoto and said, "You're only not getting punished for the fact that you had permission, but I don't need to know the full details of yesterday to know that you weren't a team player while everyone was fighting for their lives."
Shoto asked him, "I don't get what you mean, sensei? Can you please explain?" the man was shocked. Was Todoroki taking him for a fool, or did he really see nothing with what he did?
"Both Midoriya and Kamakiri had ice fragments in their hero suits, unlike Stain who had them on his hands. Now, I can't understand how that happened, but I can see that you tried to capture Stain desperately and that you favored attacking your allies."
Shoto shook his head, "That's wrong. I told them told to leave and that I'll handle Stain using my mom's ice, but they refused and always got caught in the crossfire. I gave them a warning. They are the ones who refused to listen and got hit."
Aizawa was sure he could hear the strangled war cries from his side which was Kamakiri being held back by Midoriya and Tokage. The man said, "We'll talk about this later. but first, you'll be attending general course. consider it a small slap on the wrist to adjust your attitude."
He then looked at Iida, "I know what you did, and I'm disappointed in you. The only reason I didn't expel is like I said due to my friendship with your brother and you had been already through enough tragedy for one month. For the next 2 months, we'll progress your improvement and see if you're fit to be back to the hero course till then you will attend general course with other students." The boy nodded his head.
Aizawa began to leave, but then looked at his students and said, "Come on, problem children. I won't leave here to kill Midoriya with your stares." Both students followed him with their respective heroes going with each kid presumably to talk with them.
The next half hour was merely Miruko berating Izuku for not contacting her, and Yori Musha doing the same to Kamakiri. During that time, Tokage left.
Back in the bar of the League of Villains, Shigaraki was furious, to say the least. Even though, he used Stain as a publicity stunt. He didn't make it to the news. Sure yesterday, people were all over his declaration of war to hero society, but now they were all captivated by the two brats who defeated Stain. This was fucking unfair.
In the orphanage, Bakugo was not having a fun day. The two brats that he took interest in tricked him into following them into the forest beside the pace and he got lost for three hours. When he made it, both boys were standing there. One was watching the clouds while the other was training.
He went to see what happened yesterday in Hosu City only to see Izuku's face all over the news. They talked on and on about how he defeated the hero killer. He felt his blood boil but kept calm.
He walked outside to take a fresh breath of air, but once he was out, the kids who were near where he was standing ran away annoying him. He looked at the ringleader and said in a subdued voice, "Stop ruining my reputation, kid. I'm not that horrible monster that you make me you to be."
The kid looked at him, "Shut up. I don't care. You don't care about any of us. You're only here to save your hide. You said yourself, quirkless people should pray for a quirk and take a swan dive off the roof."
Bakugo then said, "Look, I know that's bad, but I didn't mean it at the time."
The boy scoffed, "Meant it or not. Suicide isn't something to joke about. Good day and don't talk to me anymore." He then ran into the forest.
Bakugo gave chase saying, "Damn it, kid. I hate how you remind me of myself."
Three days after the Hosu incident, Izuku was in the training room with Miruko. Both of them were panting, but Izuku finally managed to do it. he landed a hit on her; to be honest, a hit would be an exaggeration, but it was more like a touch on her workout pants, but still a hit nonetheless.
Miruko patted his back, "Well, brat. Good work. It seems those 7 days went faster than I thought."
The boy smiled as the rabbit heroine crouched down and said, "Well, kid. Good luck from here on out. I'll take you to the train at 5 p.m., and maybe if you impress me, I'll also take you for a work-study."
The boy nodded his head as he went to his room to pack his stuff. This internship was exhausting but fruitful. However, he made some memories he sure hoped to forget soon.
