Chapter 97 - A question in her mind

Speed was where most witches fell short. They couldn't keep up with the speed of vampires and werewolves in a fight, and if they were caught before they could cast a curse, it wouldn't be easy to turn the tables.

Earlier, when they fought near the town, Dylan wouldn't have given the witch a chance to curse him if he hadn't stopped to save a child hurt by the witch. Noticing his body weakening, he ran into the forest to lure the witch away from the town.

Sienna leaned against the tree trunk behind her, watching the witch and the werewolf fight. Her lips were slightly parted as she breathed hard, her pulse quickening.

The witch managed to escape Dylan's grip by pulling something from her pockets. It was a weapon that allowed her to suddenly vanish into thick gray smoke.

Dylan looked around to see where the witch went, and his eyes quickly fell on a branch of a tree. The witch laughed a sinister laugh that echoed in the forest before she started chanting again.
