Chapter Seven
"Why are you here?"
She weakly propped herself up to sit, frowning at Sofia Hamilton, her disgusted gaze filled with intense hatred.
Sofia knew that Regina Brown didn't want to see her…
Nor did she expect someone like Regina to say anything remotely thankful.
She had done it only to ease her own conscience, nothing more.
Without expecting gratitude, there was no room for disappointment.
Besides, given Regina's character, she certainly wouldn't change her attitude toward her.
Still, Sofia suddenly thought Regina was pitiful—living such a pitiable life.
Everything she had worked hard for, calculated for, she had gained nothing.
Sofia looked at her with calm and composure. "You fainted, so I brought you to the hospital. It's as simple as that."
"You brought me here?"
Regina, frail, stared at Sofia in disbelief.
After all that she had done to her, Sofia still extended kindness? How was that even possible?
