Nia Mitchell was still eating her hot pot when she received a call from Maxwell Peary.
She originally wanted to hang up in a fit of pique, but...

Maxwell Peary's mouth curled into a smile as he unbuttoned his shirt collar.

Maxwell gritted his teeth, each word squeezed out from between them.

Nia stirred her dipping sauce continuously with her chopsticks, her tone annoyed.
Fiona Sutton had gone to the restroom. If she weren't, Nia wouldn't dare speak so freely with Maxwell.
