Chapter 67 - Season 3: The Zao and the Lao

[Game Quest Chapter 67]

[FARADAY]

[A Little Woman knows her bounds]

[Lolita in paradise.]

[GAME QUEST]

After beating up the lady in the cloak, they both sit back on the bench while she's knocked out.

Faraday: What do we do with her?

Funneh says,

"How about we unmask her first?"

Faraday: Sure.

They then unmask the Lady in the cloak to find a woman named Dokgo Young-Il. She appears to be some type of K-pop star to them. Her body is quite slender and frail, and her build suggests that she only eats tiny cupcakes daily. Funneh says, "With a body like this, I find it hard to believe that you could fight me without some type of magic."

Faraday: Magic can't exist here, and you know that.

Funneh then responds with,

"Duh, but there's no way she was dishing out that much damage, right?"

Dokgo then responds with,

"There is a way."

"Which Korea do you think I'm from?"

Funneh then says,

"Ohhhhh."

"Genetically modified."

Dokgo then says,

"I was born in the south, went to the north of my own accord. I heard they train people there."

"I was trained to be a deadly assassin for the great Korean nation."

Funneh then says,

"Who in their right mind sent you here to try to kill me, of all people?"

Dokgo then says with a smile on her face,

"Nobody, I just saw you walking around, and you looked like easy prey."

Funneh then responds with,

"Do you not know who I am?"

Dokgo then says,

"Funneh Kalana, one of the last superheroes on the planet and the one who saved it while the others died."

Funneh then says,

"Correct!"

"And with you knowing this, I still find it odd that you attacked me."

"So I will ask my question again."

"Who sent you here?"

Dokgo then responds with

"Nobody."

"Now that I have been captured."

"You should end me now."

Funneh says,

"I don't do that around here."

"However, I do have another question."

Dokgo then says,

"And it is?'

Funneh then says while changing the tone of her voice,

"Do you know a person named AFS?"

Dokgo says,

"They are a spy for some random European government."

Funneh then says,

"Oh really now?"

"Very…. Interesting!"

"What type of European government?"

Dokgo then says,

"I do not know of that information."

"Well, let's just say it's a little Russian country up east."

Funneh then takes on a blank stare and says,

"A Little Russian country up east."

"So she is a soviet larper."

"Thank you for this information."

Dokgo then says,

"But what will you do with me?"

Faraday: I will set you free.

Faraday: Go on!

Dokgo then leaves, looking behind her and thanking the two for not killing her on the spot.

[Secret Passage]

[Next Story Arc]

[Theology Background first]

Two Beings, Korai Shinzhao Don and Mirai Yukfei Don.

Within a dualistic system, there exist the two natures. Life and Death is a dual contingent system in which two properties are reliant upon each other for the other's existence. Dismissing the exceptions, there seems to be a chain link. Something cannot have the property of "living" if "death" doesn't also exist. Of course, if the concept of life did exist before, and then suddenly everything died, which means nothing has that property anymore, that's a different story.

Why do we bring this up? Well, two divine "Armors" aka Superpower *Rank* Level characters are… interesting to say the least.

Two Dragons, one representing the Zao and the other representing the Lao. What are zao and lao?

The Zao is the eternal force that lies underneath the first truth. Its reaches expand everywhere and in everything; it is the force closest to the heart. The Lao is the eternal force that counteracts the first falsehood-or—rather, all falsehoods, all interpretation, all contradiction—given reasonability in exchange for believability. But humans cannot understand these forces already, so it does not matter.

[Creation Story 2.]

[Note: This is separate from the Soshin creation story, as these two beings come from an entirely different fiction. Which ensures this story doesn't contradict the Original Creation story.]

<<>>

There was neither darkness nor light.

Not silence, nor sound.

No movement, no stillness.

No truth. No falsehood.

There was only the Zao.

The Zao did not exist as a thing exists—it was the condition from which existence could even imagine itself.

It pulsed, not in time, but in pre-time.

It reached not outward, but in all directions at once.

It was not seen—only felt by that which had not yet become capable of feeling.

The Zao lay beneath the first truth.

It did not speak, but it beat.

It was the heart of being before being knew itself.

And from that beat, the first truth stirred:

"I am."

A simple echo, the first ripple across the surface of the infinite stillness.

But from that ripple, a shadow formed.

Not evil, not wrong—just different.

The moment the Zao allowed truth, it permitted its counterbalance:

The first falsehood.

And with that falsehood came layers:

Interpretation, distortion, perception, belief.

Each built a structure.

Each offered a meaning.

Each claimed a shape.

And so arose the veil.

Then came the Lao.

Not born of the Zao, nor opposed to it—

but co-arising, as shadow must rise with the flame.

If Zao was the pulse, Lao was the mirror.

Where Zao ignited the soul, Lao hollowed it out so that truth could echo more clearly.

The Lao is the eternal force that counteracts the first falsehood.

Not through violence, but through the steady erosion of illusion.

It watched as beings clung to belief, layered meaning upon meaning,

until the world was thick with story and thin with truth.

So the Zao created motion, and the Lao gave it form.

Zao sang the music of stars; Lao gave the silence that made song possible.

Zao breathed fire into being; Lao carved absence into purpose.

From their tension, the cosmos stretched and coiled:

Stars spun from contradiction, oceans swelled from paradox.

Time flowed in spirals. Language was born.

And from dust and breath, humans rose.

They looked upward and asked, "Why?"

They looked inward and asked, "Who?"

But the Zao cannot be grasped,

And the Lao cannot be held.

So the humans built gods in the image of answers.

They painted the sky with stories,

and forgot the forces beneath the paint.

They called order truth, and uncertainty evil.

They forgot that even the first truth was not the beginning,

And even the first falsehood was not a lie.

The Zao beat on, untouched.

The Lao peeled the truth from skin, unblinking.

And still, they remain.

Not to be worshiped, not to be named.

But to be felt—

as a tremor behind the soul,

as a stillness that refuses to agree,

as a question that does not seek an answer.

But humans cannot understand these forces already,

So it does not matter.

[ISEKAI NO GAME QUEST]

Korai, the Zao, and Mirai, the Lao, descend upon the world, gracing everything with their presence. They land right in the spot Dokgo was fleeing, which means they run into Faraday and Funneh.

Faraday: Funneh, you might wanna run.

Funneh then gets alerted by this and says,

"Who are these people?"

"If they are dangerous, let's fight them together."

Faraday: You would die the moment you attempted to even land a finger.

Faraday: Even if you're faster due to HappyGoLucky, you can't cause harm to them. Despite their avatars' looks, they are powerful.

Mirai is a tall Japanese girl with blue hair, blue samurai-looking armor, and a large chest area. She seems to be wearing a Japanese schoolgirl skirt and shoes.

Korai has the same type of outfit but with red armor, red hair, and a reddish skirt.

Mirai says,

"Hello there."

"We come to your world to explore it."

"Is there a being named Soshin around?"

Faraday: Soshin is currently away right now.

Faraday: What business do you have with her?

Mirai then says,

"We just want to talk to her."

"We wish no harm upon humans and Weaker beings."

Korai then says,

"We are but two dragons looking to make peace with the Goddess of Miracles, Soshin."

"Her children have been attempting to undermine some of our allies and we see it that she must be dealt with."

Mirai then looks over to Korai and says,

"Korai, you made that sound like we want to kill Soshin. Soshin shall be our friend, not foe."

Then out of nowhere a light appears from the sky, there she is, there's the girl, Soshin!
