After the battle everyone was tired, though Tony suggested a shawarma place to get together and eat, at the end everyone rejected as they were tired. Especially the sorcerers and thus everyone decided to go home.
Since Tony was rejected, he wanted to invite the others to a party that he would be throwing. Of course it would be a private party with only the people they know of each others identities to be present and those who could be trusted.
The spiderlings agreed to this as they too would want to go back to the universe, from where they came, unintentionally. And thus today was the day that they had all decided to regroup in the dilapidated Stark Tower.
The Stark Tower was in half ruins thanks to the war and JARVIS gave an estimate of what needed to be repaired. In a few days the repairs would start but the half destroyed one was good enough for everyone to come together and talk. As expected everyone was here in the evening and even the Spiderlings show up but of course with their full suit one, unlike the inhabitants of their universe, who came in quite the fancy dresses.
The sun dipped behind the horizon, casting long shadows across the broken skyline of New York. The exposed rebar and shattered glass were bandaged by JARVIS's hard-light barriers, keeping the interior safe and comfortably habitable.
Geralt leaned back with his arms crossed, already halfway through a bottle of something strong. Yennefer stood beside a cracked window, sipping red wine like she wasn't standing in a battlefield memorial. Natasha and Steve stood close, speaking in low tones but occasionally smirking like old friends. Even Thor seemed relaxed, his booming laughter.
Everyone was having their good time until the air shimmered and five figures came through the destroyed windows. All conversation halted. The Spiderlings had arrived.
"Whoa," Miles muttered. "This place looks like a bomb went off in it."
"It kind of did," Peter B. added. "But uh… hi. We're, uh—"
"—Miles Morales, Peter B. Parker, Gwen Stacy, Peni Parker, and Spider-Man Noir," Liam said without looking up from his seat at the far end of the table.
Silence fell again.
Every head slowly turned toward Liam.
Even the Spiderlings froze.
"...What?" Gwen said.
"I already know who you are. All of you. You didn't think those suits would keep your secrets for too long. Did you?" Liam replied.
"Liam, is there something you want to tell us?" Steve couldn't help but ask as he too didn't expect Liam to know their identities. It was one thing to know of the world of trials, but to know even their own multiverse. This was a new information even for the newly formed Avengers team.
"Cap, you have forgotten that my organization works in multiversal level, so of course I had asked them." Liam replied. This made everyone's light switch turned on and Liam again turned to the new group. "You can remove those masks for yours. I know how everyone looks like."
Peni came out of her robot almost instantly after the identity was revealed. Peter wanted to stop her but she didn't seem to be afraid of all. Not everyone was pessimistic as Peter after all.
"Hello, thank you for saving us." Peni spoke as she looked at Iron Mage. In the fight against the Chitauri, Iron Mage had actually saved her at one point when she was in a bit of dire situation. None of them had expected a small girl to be a young hero.
'Who the hell allowed such a young girl to be in a fight?'
This was the thought everyone had once they saw Peni. She then introduced herself coming from the universe which was set in year 3145. This made everyone reel in shock especially to those who understood that the multiverse wasn't streamlined. One could even land in the future.
But of course, this wasn't the main point, as Tony and Bruce had come together to ask about the robot and how was she in this situation. While she was explaining her origins, Liam looked at others. He had questions.
"I don't know what brought you here," Liam said. "but I suspect you didn't come by choice." Though he could already guess most of it, but he needed confirmation.
"Yeah. No kidding," Peter B. muttered. "It's been six months. I've aged five years in this wreck of a world." The moment the word 6 months came out of his mouth, everyone turned to Ciri, who couldn't help but blush. First question answered.
"We've been laying low ever since. The rift that brought us here didn't open again. And until a few days ago, we weren't sure anyone here even knew about us." Gwen chimed in.
"Tell me everything. From the beginning." Liam said. Miles thought for a moment if he should tell, but seeing how Liam, who was now quite famous and saved people before shouldn't be a bad guy. Among all of them only Liam wore a mask in the war, which meant he was afraid of exposing his identity to others, which meant he had people to safeguard.
He had already noticed that Liam had his girlfriend, who was also a superhero from what he had seen and more powerful than them. Thus he could open some of their secrets, after all this man even knew their identity.
"It started with Kingpin. He built this machine that could tear open the multiverse… because he lost his family. He thought if he could access other universes, maybe he could bring them back." Miles said. "It went bad. Real bad. Worlds started overlapping. Dimensions colliding. We got sucked into Miles's world from our own timelines. Eventually, with a lot of teamwork, we stopped the machine. Or we thought we did."
"It exploded," Noir added. "Ripped through the very fabric of our worlds. We thought we were going home… but we landed here."
