The moment Seras and I turned our attention toward the helicopters, the entire battlefield seemed to change.
The Republic's forces had probably expected us to spend the rest of the battle scrambling for cover while their aircraft bombarded everything below. Unfortunately for them, they had made one rather important mistake in their calculations.
They had left two people on the battlefield who could reach them.
I tightened my grip around the handles of my two blades and watched the helicopters circling overhead. Their rotors thundered across the ocean, drowning out the distant sounds of fighting, while their weapons remained trained on the ships below. Several aircraft had already begun adjusting their positions, apparently preparing to launch another barrage against the remaining pirates.
Unfortunately, they wouldn't have the luxury of finishing their attack.
I bent my knees and pushed off the deck.
