Chapter 161 - Chapter 161: Start of a Dinner

[3rd POV]

After the surprise of her family being back in her life, the group of people decided to leave the school for the day. They wanted to go out and get some dinner, and just enjoy their time. Hope hadn't seen most of her family in years, so what better way then to sit down and just...talk?

Which is exactly what they were doing right now. After a short drive into Mystic Falls, the family had bought a large table in the Mystic Grill, all of them sitting around the large table.

Lucifer, Alice, Rose, Beatrix, Bloom, Powder, Vi, and Hope were sitting on one side. While Rebekah, Kol, Elijah, Hayley, Freya, Klaus, Davina, and Marcel were sitting on the other.

Hope was sitting in between Rose and Vi in front of her parents were sitting on the other side, while Lucifer was sitting towards the end of the table with Alice next to her in front of Freya and Rebekah.

Powder decided that she didn't really like her spot on the table, so she shuffled over and plopped down into her mama's lap with a grin. She had become more and more comfortable with them, and since she had been blood adopted by Lucifer and Alice, she was now a clingy little thing that loved to hang out with her Mama and Mommy.

She was a mama's girl. While Vi was the opposite and was a mommy's girl, even with the training that Lucifer constantly had with her. It was cute more than anything, and Vi was always embarrassed when her older sisters teased her for it.

Only for them to get teased by their moms in return.

So they decided not to do it again...in front of their mothers.

"So...how has school been so far?" Alice asked awkwardly, deciding to begin the conversation instead of just sitting here in awkward silence. It had been dead silent for a bit now and they needed to say at least something at this point.

"Pretty good, the classes aren't that good but the atmosphere is fun" Rose responded with a smile, Hope nodding in agreement.

"What makes the classes not good? We pay Saltzman a lot of money to make sure that school is properly teaching you" Hayley asked, frowning at her daughter's agreement with Rose.

"Uh...well..." Hope glanced at Rose for help on this one.

"Um, Miss Marshall, it's because of the way the classes are taught that makes it difficult to really think of it as a proper place to learn from" Rose responded, with Hayley motioning for her to continue, the other Mikaelsons also interested in this info.

"The teachers for one. They're all witches or humans. There isn't a single teacher in the school that is a werewolf or Vampire. Which might sound fine on paper, it...doesn't exactly make sense when you really think about it" Rose said, as Freya was the one to speak up.

"How can a school have classes that teach vampires and werewolves how to handle their new life in the supernatural world, but not have teachers that know what it is like to be a vampire or werewolf?" Freya asked, finding that to be...well...stupid.

"How have we not learned of this sooner?" Klaus asked Hayley.

"Because it would seem Alaric has been keeping things quiet from us. Because I remember him saying that he had teachers belonging to all three supernatural species. But not it's looking like he lied straight to my face" Hayley responded, her eyes darkening as she knew this would become an issue if it was left to fester.

They would need to fix this immediately, or else the future generation of vampires and werewolves would suffer from it, immensely.

"It's not just the teachers either. It's the way they're taught that is even worse" Hope added as Rose nodded.

"Yeah. Like the fact that vampires can only drink animal blood, and Alaric seems to be insistent that they cannot drink anything but that. Or how the werewolves are locked up in the basement on full moons, not allowed to enter the large forests surrounding the school. Or how witches aren't allowed to use any attack magic, or really any magic that isn't something simple and harmless" Rose added, as Hope agreed.

The more they pointed out the problems, the deeper the scowls on the Mikaelsons' faces got. While Lucifer just sighed.

"I suspect that this is more so Alaric's fault, not Caroline's. She is the true principle of the school, but ever since she gave him control, it looks like he has been quite...insistent on changing things" Lucifer said.

"A vampire that can only drink animal blood!? Does he wish to create a vampire generation of solely rippers!? There's a reason why you cannot live on only animal blood! One drop of human blood after years of only animal blood and you'll go crazy! It's a recipe for disaster!" Rebekah frustratingly growled, finding that to be absolutely idiotic.

"He locks up wolves without letting them wander!? Does he not know he can just ward the forests during the full moons?! Does he not understand the torture that those children are going to be going through by being locked up like that!?" Hayley angrily ranted, as Klaus looked like he was going to murder someone.

"A witch who can't use any offensive magic? How stupid is that! How are they supposed to defend themselves in the future if they don't know any magic that will let them defend themselves?" Davina said with a dumbfounded expression, wondering how the man thought that was a good idea.

"This sounds like something that we'll need to personally bring to Caroline and Alaric. Because this cannot continue, not for the future of those children, and not for the future of Hope and Rose" Elijah said, disappointed with the way Alaric has been teaching the children of the Salvatore Boarding School.

"Probably for the best. But wait until Caroline gets back, as she'll probably join you in ripping the man a new one for his ignorance" Lucifer said, already amused at the mere thought of what was going to happen once she got back.

"So...besides the less than stellar teaching, what else have you girls been up to?" Kol asked, deciding to change the subject. As this was meant to be a fun dinner, not one where everyone gets pissed because Alaric is a terrible teacher/principal.

"Well, Rose has been teaching me some spells that her mom taught her. Like this really neat one called "Expelliarmus" which will disarm the one hit by it, launching any object in their hands out of them" Hope responded, beaming as she talked about her time with Rose.

The more she talked about her time in the school, the more the family could see that she was absolutely love struck with Rose, and if the way Rose was smiling at all her words was any indicator, it would seem that she felt the same way.

Which made even Klaus crack a small smirk, deciding inwardly to tease his daughter later on over this obvious crush she has, as it is adorable. While Hayley glanced at the two of them, before inwardly grumbling as she realized something.

'...Lucifer is definitely winning that bet' Hayley thought, knowing that they would almost certainly be getting together soon. There's no way they wouldn't.

Watching the two was also Lucifer, who had a small amused smirk on her face, and one thought on her mind.

'...Looks like I'm winning that bet!'
