Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Making up

As Sophia ascended the staircase towards their room, a soft murmur of conversation reached her ears. Pushing the door open,

she found Levon seated on the edge of the bed, a cigarette in hand, engaged in a serious phone call. The air in the room hung heavy with the faint scent of smoke.

Levon's eyes met hers, and in that moment, he extinguished the cigarette, putting it aside as if to erase any trace of the brief indulgence.

a subtle hand gesture, he signaled for her to give him a moment to conclude his call. Understanding, Sophia took a seat at her dressing table.

The room was adorned with luxury, from the plush carpet underfoot to the opulent furnishings. Sophia began the process of removing her jewelry,

delicately placing each piece on the dressing table. Her reflection in the mirror watched as she opened her hair, the strands cascading down her shoulders. Sophia brushed her hair, a rhythmic motion that helped her unwind.

Levon concluded his call, and as he turned his attention to Sophia, he asked,

"Anything happened today? Any trouble?"

His caring tone caught Sophia off guard. It was a stark contrast to the formal atmosphere she witnessed earlier. She smiled,

"No, nothing at all. Everything was fine."

Levon, ever attentive, continued, "If there's ever anything bothering you, don't hesitate to tell me. I want you to be comfortable here."

Sophia felt a warmth spreading through her. The sincerity in Levon's words touched her, and she replied,

"Thank you, Levon. I appreciate that."

Levon's next words were a sweet melody that melted any lingering doubts in Sophia's heart.

"I'm really sorry I couldn't have dinner with you tonight. It's just that work sometimes demands more than I plan."

Sophia reassured him,

"It's okay, Levon. I understand. Your work is important."

Levon stood up, walking towards her with a genuine smile.

"Thank you understanding. Tomorrow, let me make it up to you. How about we go shopping together? Just you and me."

Sophia was taken aback by the unexpected invitation. She smiled and replied,

"Sure, I'd like that."

Levon, pleased with her response, watched as Sophia gathered her clothes and headed towards the washroom to change.

The room, once filled with the formality of business, now felt alive with a different energy – an intimacy that Sophia hadn't anticipated.
