"Come on let's go", Alex said after making sure that she was ok .
"Alright", Claire said her voice now meek
Alex just smiled she's now feeling shy , he helped her carry her bags and they left together . Alex mind was not in one place , 'so the one that attacked her was a lvl six , I see they are getting impatient did they find out I could help her unseal her powers '.
"Alex!, Alex! Can you hear me?" , Claire noticed that Alex seemed lost and called him to make sure he was with her
"Yes, are you ok ?", he asked immediately
She smiled he is still worrying about me
"Yes I am ok, is anything the matter?, you seem lost"
"Everything is fine, I am just thinking about some stuff "
You said you started seeing these creatures when you turned 18 right ?",
"Yes why?"
" Has anything happened to you or have you seen anything else apart from those creatures ?"
"Well not really, I haven't seen anything else. Oh wait!, I think I saw some suspicious book in our library it talks about a princess that had the same problems as me ", Claire said looking at Alex to know where all the questions is coming from .
Alex wide eyed asked,"can I see the book please ".
Sure", she brought the book out from her bag giving it to him .
Alex opened the book after going through it he chuckled
" She sure is a smart woman", he muttered
"What are you muttering about ", Claire said looking at him quizzically
"It's nothing sweet pea ", he didn't know when the nickname left his lips he looked at her to know is she is offended with it
Claire shocked 'are we already in the nickname bases', she blushed .
Suddenly Alex turned serious ," Claire I want you to listen to me clearly , he said turning to her to show how serious what he wanted to say was .
Claire blushed , 'this is the first time he has called me by my name , no time for that now'
"Yes tell me", she said trying to understand this serious talk that he had to call her name well that's her name but 'I thought we were in the nickname bases' her mind nearly drifted again .
"This book, I don't want you to show it to anyone not even your au... I mean your mother, do you hear me ?", he nearly slipped
Claire frowned a little," why can't I show my mother ?".
" I didn't say you shouldn't show your mom, but she wouldn't understand she might think you are being paranoid or maybe start overthinking and that could be dangerous for her health, don't you think" , Alex just said whatever came to his mind .
"But I have shown it to her and ...."
"What !", Alex shouted he didn't even let her finish.
Claire startled looked at Alex, "why are you screaming ?".
"I'm sorry" , Alex apologised figuring he might have scared her
"You have shown it to her when and how did she react "
" She reacted normal. You are being weird now, what's so special about this book and don't you think you are being a little extra nosy by even wanting to know the details of how my mom reacted. Aren't you only worried about me ", Claire complained finding his behaviour a little out of hand, but to make matters worse she even feels that he has every right to know and more . 'What the heck is wrong with me?' now she finally cursed in her mind .
" I'm sorry if am being too nosy it's ok if you don't want to tell me ", Alex apologised he figured he might have come out too eager obviously she is gonna get suspicious. 'I need to find a way to make her trust me first since she said she had shown it to her I am very sure she must have gone to that man no wonder a level six was sent and I think the book is their target'.
" Claire can I borrow this book from you please injust want to see" , he said this time his voice gentle and soft that even the hardest person would fall for it, and Claire was no exception cause just by looking at his eyes alone she would fold.
"Ok but I am not done with it yet" , she said already giving him the book
Alex smiled and took it.
"It's just for one day, I will return it tomorrow. I just want to understand your problems and more maybe I can help you find solutions "
"Alright then" , Alex just smiled at her
" It's time for you to head home now, come I would drop you off".
" Ok thanks".
