Chapter 5274 - Chapter 4314: Heroes Strike! (7)

"Our dodge skills' cooldown time should be longer than theirs." Lord Batman calculated internally, then said, "It's hard to avoid all damage. If we're lucky, maybe we can survive, but if not, it might be time to switch people."

"Then let's switch," Lord Batman said, "I feel like your skill set isn't quite suited for fighting monsters. Let's take a look at my skill set. I am determined to explore the spaceship today."

Lord Batman nodded, not saying much. Lord Superman has always been this aggressive, he's long been used to it.

"We must win," Pikachu said, "We're already down one life compared to them. There's good stuff in that spaceship, if we can get it, perhaps we can make up for the gap."

Peter nodded in agreement. Among all these groups, only they seemed to have one less life. Pikachu is already fragile, with his maximum blood volume reduced significantly, if he comes out again, he'd be easy to take down instantly. Then his blood volume would be even less, making it impossible to fight. It would be a vicious cycle; something must break the current disadvantageous situation.

As a hardcore gamer who grew up playing games, Peter knew full well that Gray mist's side most likely had gotten key items. There's no reason they have crucial items and we don't. This spaceship must hide at least one key item. Even if it's not mine, if I take it, I can prevent others from getting stronger.

Peter rubbed his hands eagerly. But he and Lord Batman's combat style was more on the conservative side. Peter took a deep breath, first shooting out Spider Silk. He thought he could trick Lord Batman into dodging, but unexpectedly Lord Batman was more cautious, opting to use a dart to cut through the web.

Peter couldn't believe his dart cooled down so quickly and followed up with a Good Neighbor's punch. As expected, Lord Batman dodged. But the instant the dodge was successfully judged, Peter turned around and fired another Spider Silk.

This time, Lord Batman couldn't avoid it. Lord Superman hammered the console and said through gritted teeth, "How come this guy has no delay in his actions?"

"This might be his skill," Lord Batman said, his vision a bit blurry. Lord Batman immediately threw down another Dodge Card, evading Peter's punch.

Peter's skills couldn't connect, and the cooldown wasn't that fast either. But Lord Batman's dodge cooldown wasn't enough either. Their battle became turn-based, playing cards together, cooling down together.

"It looks like we can't win like this," Lord Superman said, "If he hits us once, he'll hit us with a whole combo. Our dodge cooldown indeed isn't enough."

"Don't rush," Lord Batman remained calm and composed, he said, "They must have more moves. We should change when they change their attack tempo. The opponent's commander can't possibly react faster than you."

At that moment, Peter jumped high.

"Good Neighbor is coming!"

Lord Superman hurriedly threw down a freshly cooled Dodge Card. But Peter landed without punching, turned back with a sly smile, and immediately jumped high again, landing a punch on Lord Batman.

"Damn!" Lord Superman gritted his teeth and said, "He actually used normal attack movements to bait skills! This skill has no voice lines! That sly kid!"

Lord Batman immediately realized; Peter had set up so much just for this punch.

Indeed, there were no sound effects when releasing a skill. The previous skill voice lines were added by Peter himself. He purposely would shout whenever he used a skill, leading people to associate his voice with skill usage. But actually, the movements and sound had no relation.

And he did this all for this punch. Normal attack movements aren't regulated, so he jumped like it were a skill and shouted the skill's line. Lord Superman was caught off guard and threw a Dodge Card. But the dodge cooldown was long, so Peter's real skill couldn't be dodged.

Peter's damage wasn't high, but he could combo, with one skill hitting, immediately followed by the next. Lord Batman was thrown away from the attacks.

Then a web covered his face, followed by another punch, and then a windmill attack. This combo of skills completed within seconds. By the time the Dodge Card cooled down, Lord Batman's blood volume was already down to a dangerous level.

"Use that," Lord Batman said, "Switching is inevitable anyway. There's no harm in using that skill."

Lord Superman was a bit frustrated, but he sighed and threw down a card. "Batman's Redemption": "Batman never admits defeat. Count all the Bat Equipment used since the start, place them into the Batman Belt, and replace the next attack card with 'Arrow Rain'.

"Arrow Rain: Release all items from the Bat-belt, depleting whichever is lowest between blood volume and Spirit Value, the amount of items released depends on the depleted blood volume. Note: This skill will instantly reduce critical values to zero, use with utmost caution."

As the card was thrown, a red light flashed on Lord Batman's belt. Then he jumped into mid-air, waving the Bat Cloak, blocking out the sky and sun, countless weapons flashing from within. Besides the darts, there were various cold weapons, even firearms.

Peter gasped, turning to flee. However, he ran too late to get out of the skill's range. Lord Batman deliberately mimicked his voice, calling out the skill's name:

"Arrow Rain!"

"Ahhhhh!!!"

After a cloud of smoke, two people remained standing on the ground: Pikachu and Lord Superman. Lord Superman wearing a gloomy expression said, "Shall we continue?"

Pikachu quickly took two steps back. How can we fight this? This Superman isn't the classic version; it doesn't look easy to deal with—though not to say that classic Superman is any easier. But this guy seems way too aggressive. He has little blood volume; it's better to leave.

Pikachu turned around and ran at full speed. As he left the combat area, the battle began to settle. The winner was, of course, Lord Batman. But upon checking the damage values, Peter's damage wasn't really much lower. If it weren't for the final big move that instantly finished Peter, plus Pikachu losing points for running, it might not have been a victory.

Looking at that huge victory symbol, Lord Superman wasn't feeling too great either. Their original strategy was to save the ultimate move for the toughest opponent, which now seems to be that gray mist. However, it turned out the opponent had a group anti-armor move, rendering their strategy useless.

Exchanging it for Spider Man's life can't be considered a win. At the moment, aside from the gray mist, Bruce seems to be the strongest. If they could trade for his life, it wouldn't be a loss. But Peter's skill set was too shallow and didn't seem competitive, exposing their ultimate move in the process. You could barely say it wasn't a loss.

The gray mist stood on the opposite side watching the fight unfold. When Lord Batman unleashed his ultimate move, he exclaimed, "Batman's ultimate move is too cool!"

"Your ultimate move is pretty cool too," Greed said, "but too bad, no one can match us. You don't need to use your ultimate move for now."

"What do we do now? Who's going down first?"

The three of them stood on different sides of the pit, looking at each other, none eager to go down first, but knowing standing there dumbly would give others the chance to develop.

"Alright, Bruce, let's go down first," Selina said, "Anyway, your Angel Form has a shield. If we can't win, we'll just run."

"Okay," Bruce sighed, "These two cowards."

Seeing Bruce go down first, Lord Superman followed. The gray mist waited on the shore for a while and only drifted down slowly after they entered the spaceship.

After descending, they discovered the spaceship was much bigger than it seemed from above. It looked like it had hundreds of grids, about the size of an ordinary mall. It was completely different from what they imagined: rushing in, grabbing treasure, and leaving quickly. Such a large map would take quite a while to explore.

The gray mist quickened his pace, preparing to catch up with the two in front. He had a hunch that there would be monsters inside that required teamwork to defeat.

"Here we go, here we go," Greed said, "My second favorite thing is uniting against an enemy while plotting against each other."

"And what's your favorite thing?"

"Plotting against each other when we should be uniting against an enemy."

"I knew it."

"This makes it challenging," Greed spread his hands, "Think about it, we are inherently adversaries, and when forced to unite, everyone has their own schemes. Everyone has a wicked mind. That's what makes it exciting."

"Yeah, because no one can have more wicked thoughts than you."

The spaceship had a unique style. The whole ship was very bright, but it was actually too bright. The lights were insanely wattage, and the floor, walls, and doors were all made of glass and crystal-like materials. Everywhere was reflecting light, practically causing light pollution.

In fact, being overly bright isn't much better than being overly dark. On the contrary, brightness can damage the eyes more easily than darkness. The gray mist saw a countdown appear on the status bar: "Blindness: 22 seconds."

"What should I do? Should I close my eyes? Where are my eyes?"

Greed was also feeling some eye pain from the glare and said, "We should look for the light switch. Quickly, find a room..."

He hadn't even finished speaking when they heard a roar ahead. Immediately, a black whirlwind flew past, brushing the top of the gray mist's head. The gray mist quickly dodged to the side, shouting, "Hey, watch out!"

Whoever launched this whirlwind obviously didn't have time to mind him. Bruce, who was at the front, had indeed stepped on a mine, triggering combat as two towering robots appeared at the end of the corridor.

Selina wasn't to be underestimated either; he reacted quickly, switching to Son of Darkness form and using a dark energy whirlwind to lift both robots. Bruce went in with a melee strike and yelled, "This doesn't feel right!"

Indeed, his strike only shaved off a bit of health. This monster must take a hundred cuts to be killed.

He looked back, but it was a straight hallway with no branches. In other words, to get into the spaceship, they had to go this way.

"I can't possibly kill it alone!" Bruce said, "If those two don't fight, we'll die here for sure."

"Then make them fight," Selina said decisively, "and then we'll turn on those two!"

Bruce quickly understood what Selina meant. Right, if those two were determined to stand back and enjoy the show, they would certainly be crushed by the robots. Either way, it was a dead end, better to drag the two along to die together.

Bruce ran backward while throwing out skills. His main target was Lord Superman, knowing full well that the gray mist had a counterattack skill that could directly backlash everyone in the combat area. So he had to drag Lord Superman in to die together.

Lord Superman was almost blown over by the wind. He dodged to the side and was about to curse when he saw those two towering robots. The key was that Bruce, being agile, raced past him, meaning he now had to confront the two robots.

Lord Superman triggered combat. He rushed up with a punch, and the robot just wobbled. He swung his fist and also shouted, "Not right! Retreat!"
