Chapter 5275 - Chapter 4315: Heroes Strike Back (8)

The two of them sprinted along the way. The Gray mist, who was the last to enter, had no idea what was happening and just saw the two rushing out, followed by two big guys.

"Don't come over!" the Gray mist said, "I have Anti-injury Armor. You two will be pierced to death!"

"Take off that damn gear!!" Lord Superman roared, "or else all three of us are going to die!!!"

Actually, when he shouted, Greed had already taken off the necklace. He knew that any two of them wouldn't be able to handle this monster; only the three of them together could do it. He doesn't want friendly fire, not because he's not malicious enough, but because if those two die first, he wouldn't be able to deal with the monster alone either.

The Gray mist's rebound is just a rebound, without damage reduction effects. Even if some of the damage is rebounded, this portion will still act on himself. The damage he receives is still 100%. The players' damage skills aren't enough to instantly kill the Gray mist, and Greed has more supplies, so he can play this style. But facing the system's powerful monster that can punch and kill instantly, you take a punch, you return a lot of damage, but you die too, totally not worth it.

Seeing the necklace was gone, the Gray mist didn't run, waiting in place to trigger the battle. When the two led the monster over, the three stood together, and the battle horn officially sounded.

"Listen, the plan is like this now," Bruce said, "I'll switch to Angel Form, use a shield to tank. You two deal damage from behind. If any healing skills, heal me. Got it?"

"It's not okay; you can't tank alone," Lord Superman said, "Do you think the attack power of two monsters will be low like this? You tanking two alone, they punch, and you're dead."

"So what should we do? Can you tank?"

"Sort of. But we must pull apart the two monsters, or I can't guarantee no friendly fire."

Bruce actually didn't want Lord Superman standing in line with him; this guy is too aggressive, might as well get beaten himself. But that was the only option at the moment.

Bruce first went up for a normal hit, attracting the attention of the first robot, then ran to the left side of the hall. Lord Superman went to lure the second robot, but his normal attack is melee, can't strike from afar like Bruce. This led to him going up for a punch when the robot slammed down too.

Bang, Lord Superman was directly knocked flying, smashing onto the wall of the hall, with his blood volume dropping by about half.

Bruce sucked in a breath, Lord Superman was really right. A player at most takes one punch, another punch would be death. So I paid for a ticket just to be a punching bag. Damn, are you a person, you dog planner?!

"I'll attract his attention," the Gray mist said, "I'll lure him there, then you directly use the skill."

Lord Superman climbed up from the ground, swept his cloak a bit in embarrassment. The Gray mist first used Factor Infiltration, very unfortunately stealing a card, meaning this monster has a deck. His immunity to normal attacks was basically useless.

But it can still be used to lure the monster initially. The Gray mist's normal attack is a ranged attack; he stood in the corner of the room and touched the robot. The robot indeed rushed toward him. But the opponent might not have placed the Gray mist in his eyes, so didn't use skills, simply punched in midair. Since this was a normal attack, the Gray mist was completely immune.

But Bruce's robot already started using skills. Bruce switched to Angel Form, Holy Light filled the entire room. He raised the sword in front of him, with a golden shield in front of the sword. The robot's barrel fired a bright Electromagnetic Cannon at the shield. Zzz—!!!

Bruce was pushed back several steps, losing some blood. But because the attack hit the shield, he didn't lose much blood, though the Gray mist was in a bad spot.

He assumed the whole attack area to be full, he could receive all attacks. This shot took out nearly half his health, scared him into curling up at the corner.

"This won't work," Gray mist said, "Anyone using skills can hit me, including the two of them. I won't last long then, right?"

"I'm afraid so. However, I think those two won't survive this battle either. If we switch, we won't lose."

The Gray mist sighed, indeed prosper through passive skills, but also fail through passive skills. His passive skills let him rebound on a large scale but also lacked the ability to protect himself, a typical high-attack low-defense.

Nonetheless, the Gray mist is mentally tough. He only regretted a few seconds then decided to give up struggling, so said, "Actually I'm curious what your skill is. Certainly not persuasion, right?"

"Hard to say," Greed shook his head, "I've heard that to design my skill, several administrators discussed it a bit. But they didn't let me join, so I'm curious too about what skill I really have."

The Gray mist successfully pulled the other robot to the other side of the room. Lord Superman had been holding back for a long time. Lord Batman also knew he had been holding back a long time, so directly used his ultimate as soon as he came. A bright sun rose in the room, which is already brightly lit.

"Light of Justice: The sun will rise eventually, and evil cannot hide. Creates a yellow sun at the target location that continuously provides strength. Grants Kryptonians 30% defense, 30% attack, 30% resistance bonus, meanwhile, enemies bathing in sunlight will be shocked by the Light of Justice, card play delay increases by 100%, card cooldown increases by 20%. Each time an attack card is used, provides Superman with 12 points of strength."

Lord Superman bathed in sunlight, his whole person shining. When he punched the robot again, the damage was much higher than before, at least you could see the health bar moving.

At the same time, the attack speeds of both robots slowed down. With a card delay increasing by 100% along with cooldown time, the card deck cycle becomes exceptionally slow. The speed at which both players' blood volumes decrease also significantly reduced.

Although Bruce's skill speed is also restricted, he doesn't rely much on skill output. The normal attack damage of his two forms is quite good, and he mainly accumulates energy to be able to activate Chaos Form. The energy gained from normal attacks is also quite substantial.

Meanwhile, Gray mist, who was hiding and idling in the back, also has his blood volume almost depleted. He finally unleashed a Symbiotic Strong Strike, then transformed into a white light. And Greed appeared on the field.

Returning to the research station's command, Gray mist not only wasn't saddened but rather excitedly started reviewing the skill set. After looking for a while, he was somewhat speechless, then said, "I can only say, maintaining a good reputation is beneficial. Your card deck design..."

"How is it exactly?" Greed curiously pressed him.

"You'll know once I play it out."

Gray mist looked at the situation on both sides. Although there was quite a commotion on Lord Superman's side, actually Bruce's side was performing better. Because his Shield skill quickly cools down, he barely gets injured. Accumulating enough energy, he once activated Chaos Form and managed to knock down a small part of the robot's blood volume.

Lord Superman's side had adequate defense, but the attack power was still somewhat lacking. He and Peter were somewhat similar, with skills mainly focused on melee physical attacks, without mixed damage, and without damage-increasing skills, making the fight feel like scratching an itch.

Thus, Gray mist targeted Lord Superman's robot and directly threw down a card.

"Psychological Treatment (Chant): The Doctor takes out his medical record book, begins recording the patient's condition. During the chanting process, every second adds a 'Mental Aberration' status to the enemy, each Mental Aberration increases the likelihood of enemy's missteps. After 10 layers of Mental Aberration, the enemy falls into a 'Help Me' status, during which, any attacks or skills launched cannot target the Doctor."

Greed took out his medical record book and began chanting right where he stood. Though he didn't know what kind of mental disorder this robot could have, the skill was written this way, so he started making things up.

Sure enough, the robot had a "Mental Aberration" status appear above its head. And ten seconds, though not long, quickly filled up this Mental Aberration status, then it began frequently misstepping.

In-game, a misstep refers to a "Miss," though this instance doesn't mean a complete miss; it might be a skill not hitting precisely or used with not enough force, which still causes some damage, but significantly less compared to full damage.

After Mental Aberration maxed out, missteps frequently appeared. Lord Superman was barely losing blood volume. Lord Batman used a bandage on him, and his blood volume replenished.

Lord Superman glanced back at Greed. He knew this was definitely Greed's handiwork, but pulling out a medical record book and writing on the battlefield was still a bit too bizarre.

But this wasn't the end. After "Mental Aberration" was maxed out, a red icon appeared over the opponent's head, indicating "Help Me." Gray mist immediately threw down another card.

"Mental First Aid: The Doctor is always willing to help every lost, unfortunate Ghost. Clears all Mental Aberration statuses from Help Me targets on the field. For each cleared aberration status, adds 2% attack power and defense value to self. For each Help Me target receiving first aid, increase medical ethics by +1."

This card appeared, and Greed directly flashed to the robot's back and slapped its back. This slap seemed not to use much force, yet directly knocked the robot to the ground, and the red icon above its head disappeared. Following this, Shiller's attack power and defense power surged by 20%.

With the statuses lined up, Gray mist threw down another card.

"Treatment Fee Settlement: You know, charges are timed. Based on the total chanting duration applied to the opponent, causes percentage damage to the opponent. For each point of medical ethics, final settlement damage is multiplied by 120%. Prioritize deducting the opponent's highest attribute value, overspill damage will be averaged out across all attribute values."

Greed was speechless. Isn't it fair to charge for psychological treatment? This can actually become a skill?

"But this percentage blood deduction hits the spot for me," Greed told Gray mist, "They do understand me a little."

"Not only that, there's still a big move unlaunched. Let's see the damage from this move first."

This move appeared, Greed directly tossed the medical record book into the air, and it transformed into a beam of light. Vintage arcade-style numerals appeared midair, starting to soar wildly.

During this, accompanied by special effects of Gold Coin showered and the sound of counting coins in a coin sorter, and various money-related sounds ringing for quite some time, finally freezing at the number "12501".

Just with this hit, the robot with a good half blood volume remaining got one-shotted. More importantly, the damage also spilled over, deducting quite a bit from all attributes. The robot visibly began rusting and shrinking, eventually becoming the size of a toy robot.

Lord Superman gulped and silently stepped back.
