But as if in response to Erick, the meteor coming down suddenly accelerated, and slammed into the shield that barely had the time to react to the command Erick himself had input from his wrist terminal.

It was reminiscent of what happened a year ago, the clash of a spear and a shield, with unstoppable momentum, and the other unbreakable. And this time again, the result left no room to debate.

The collision caused a ripple that moved like a circular blade which cut through the air, while the shockwave pushed everything in the surrounding kilometers away, clouds and all. The fire on the meteor also exploded in a flash that took away the light from the sun for a moment, before the shield broke and gave way, transmitting much of the unprocessed shock to the city as it exploded.
