The princess uncrossed her legs to cross them again the other way around, and shifted her posture to one less filled with superiority. She opened her mouth to speak but Lucas preempted her:
"So, princess, can we know your name? And the one of your maid. If not for the comfortable journey as promised by Klain, I can't say I would have been interested in accepting the invitation from… you, or the welcome of your maid."
While it might be normal for the royalty before them to have made them travel to her instead of coming to them personally, that was different from how Klain had presented the matter.
Even with a smile that showed no care, just like he was indeed feeling inside, Lucas felt it necessary to show some barb. Being calm and cool was a matter of choice, but that didn't mean being made to endure condescension and swallowing it up.
