As Jack, burns and wounds extending from the side of his face to his thighs, clothes in tatters and appearance as disheveled as could be, once again threw himself at the thinning crowd of enemies around him, the battle in the sky overhead was seeing a similar display of ferocity in a quite dissimilar way.
Streaks flashed through the sky, too fast to appear to even the sharpest evolver below as anything other than shadows. Lights of different colors bloomed against the backdrop of the faintly shining sky, sometimes dull, sometimes bright, sometimes sharp, sometimes heavy, and most of the time deadly.
*BOOM!*
A mountain that had survived the short time Lucas had spent on the Path earlier was crushed into an even shorter shape by the clash of the shadow streaks, before they returned even higher up, and met again for another deadly exchange.
