"Why?" Valentine Teller found it rather unbelievable, looking at Mark Reed in surprise.
"Not interested."
Mark Reed gave a cryptic smile. He had been sent to a training camp at a very young age, and his childhood was filled with battles, devoid of any happiness.
Growing up in such an environment, even though his appearance seemed carefree and cynical, his heart was cold. After reaching adulthood, he never relaxed, until Claudia Ross and little Ann changed him.
It was during those years in America that he first tasted the sweetness of happiness.
And now, with Valentine Teller, that feeling has returned.
"Do you want to go play?" Mark Reed teased, placing a piece of cotton candy in Valentine Teller's mouth.
The small bamboo stick danced between their mouths as Valentine saw it but didn't refuse. She didn't want to ruin such a beautiful mood over trivial matters.
Today, she decided to let go of all concerns and prejudices, allowing her heart to soar freely.
