She flipped through the call log again, the last call was from a client at noon.
Valentine Teller still refused to give in and asked Turstin Muller, "Did you hear my phone ring when I was asleep?"
"No." Turstin Muller shook his head and urged again, "Go lie down and get some rest."
"I'll rest when I get back, thank you for your concern." Valentine Teller freed herself from Turstin Muller's hand, picked up the coat next to her purse from the bed, rubbed her aching temples, and forced herself to stay awake.
"I'm leaving, goodbye!" After saying goodbye to Turstin Muller, Valentine Teller opened the door and was startled to see Mark Reed's sullen face, she stammered, "Why... why are you here?"
"So, you really are here." Mark Reed's face showed a painful expression, "You don't want to be with me because you only want to be with Turstin Muller. Did you enjoy your time with him tonight?"
"Mark, it's not what you think. Nothing happened between Turstin and me..."
