Looking at Valentine Teller, whose face had turned pale, Mark Reed zipped up his pants and lay down on the edge of the bed, his expression also not too good as he stared silently at the ceiling.
After a moment of silence, Valentine seemed to sense Mark's displeasure. She knew she was in the wrong, so she moved closer to him to apologize: "I'm sorry, today... I'm just not in the mood."
"When have you ever been in the mood?" Mark's voice was filled with concern.
Valentine pursed her lips in grievance and mumbled, "I'm sorry."
Mark, holding back his frustration, turned his back to Valentine without looking at her.
"Please don't be mad, okay?" Valentine nudged Mark's shoulder and propped herself up on the bed: "If something's bothering you, just say it. Don't keep it bottled up."
Valentine thought that even a big argument would be better than one person sulking in silence.
After another pause, Mark suddenly spoke: "Can you let me be alone for a bit?"
