"This is great news, I'm happy for you." Madam Selane replied as she held both her hands.
"So why do you need a physician?" She asked confused.
"I want confirmation, what if she was wrong... about me being pregnant." Iris replied.
"Okay, I'll get the midwife to check you, meanwhile, you should have some rest." She said and patted her head.
THE PALACE-
"The Crown Prince is back!" One of the guards announced as the trumpets were played.
"Ryan! You're early?" Queen Maria laughed as she went forward to hug him and then did the same with Wyatt.
"Mother, we had to leave sooner or later?" Ryan chuckled.
"How was the journey and it's nice to have you here with us Princess Tiana." The Queen said as she gave Tiana a hug.
"Sister, you're here? I thought you'd head back after the war" Isabella stated as she held her cousin's hand.
"I had to see you, besides I didn't come for your wedding so I didn't want to miss the chance to spend Thanksgiving with you." Tiana giggled.
"You sure wouldn't?" Isabella laughed.
"Urm...Mother where is Father and Iris?" Ryan asked once the entered the palace.
"Your Father is busy with affairs of the court while Iris... she must still be sleeping." The Queen said smiling ear to ear. She wanted to tell her son of the good news himself but she wanted Iris to do it herself.
"Sleeping?" Ryan frowned.
"She has really unwell since she heard about your accident." Queen Maria shook her head.
"Well then, I'll go and see her." Ryan said as she left his mother and walked in the direction of his quarters. He hadn't set his eyes on her for the past one and a half week and he didn't have time to send any letters since he was preoccupied. He knew she would be offended but he had planned a bigger surprise for her. He was going to tell her his true feelings and propose to her for real...this time.
Ryan opened the door to his bedroom and found it empty. He walked towards the bathroom and still it was empty. He frowned as fear washed through him. Could Father had-No he wouldn't right.
Immediately he dashed out the room and into the garden where he meet his Mother.
"Ryan? Is everything okay, you look worried and anxious?" Queen Maria asked once she saw he had returned on time.
"Mum, Iris is not in the room." He dropped the bomb.
"What do you mean she's not there? I had left her room late last night and she was still there?" Queen Maria explained.
"Did something happen while I was gone? Or did anyone offend her, maybe father or Isabella?" Ryan asked. He was getting worried and restless by each passing second.
"Actually, we recently found out that she was with child." She replied with a sigh.
"With Child? Wait...is she pregnant?" Ryan asked as he stared at his mother for answers.
"Yes, she fainted the day she got the news of your accident so we called the physician to examine her." She explained.
