Jin felt the change in Karl's power and aura as Rae advanced, and began feeding more powerful energy back into his body.
At first, he thought that Karl had found something that angered him, as the change had a murderous edge to it, but his expression didn't change at all. In fact, he was happily searching through fiction books with Dana.

That was close to the truth, but their auras actually changed Karl's and didn't just overlay it.
