Adeline stared at Caesar who was pacing the room with a worried expression. What could he have done that he was this worried about?
"Caesar?"
No response.
"Caesar?" Still nothing. He was lost deep in thought.
Adeline's brows furrowed and she got to her feet, walking over and grabbing his arm. "Caesar!"
He finally looked at her.
"What is going on with you?" she asked. "What is it that you're so scared to talk to me about? I don't understand what is going on with you."
Caesar stared deeply at her. He grabbed her shoulders and walked her gently to the bed where he made her sit down. Then he pulled over a chair, sat right in front of her, and grasped her hands, rubbing them warmly.
"Adeline, no matter what I say to you, please listen to me first. You have to understand that I would never hurt you. I would never do anything that would harm you and neither would I ever intentionally make you unhappy."
