Then Grace asked, "Should we tell the king?"
Jace hesitated again. "That depends. If we bring this forward, and it causes a bigger rift in the kingdom…"
Grace looked down at her hands, fingers curling tightly. "There's already one as it is. At least my father will know best how to deal with the situation."
They exchanged a long, loaded glance.
Jace nodded slowly, but his thoughts were spinning.
Grace had come to the palace seeking family… and instead, she might have walked into a den of secrets darker than she was ready for. And the last thing he wanted was for her to be put in any form of danger.
But on the other hand, it wasn't fair to keep things from the king. He deserves to know that the queen was still in contact with her secret lover.
Who knows if they had other reasons to meet that night apart from the need to satisfy their sexual urge.
Before Jace could express his fears, a knock sounded at the door and they were summoned for breakfast with the King.
