Chapter 139 - Stop Calling Me a Good Senpai!

Chapter 139: Stop Calling Me a Good Senpai!

"I'd like to know what punishment you would receive if the school discovered you privately selling me the midterm papers."

"After all, I wouldn't want to cause trouble for you, senpai," Yuto said with an expression filled with concern.

Seeing Yuto apparently worrying about him moved Shiraki.

Everyone described Shimizu Yuto as a terrifying, cold-blooded, and ruthless demon, but he did not seem particularly demonic.

He was even concerned about whether Shiraki would be punished!

For a moment, Shiraki felt so guilty that he considered giving Yuto the genuine papers instead of the forged ones.

However, he immediately crushed that thought. He did not dare ruin Nagumo's plan.

'Shimizu-kun, don't resent me afterward. Blame yourself for offending Boss Nagumo.'

Yuto closely observed Shiraki's changing expression.

Moved, ashamed, guilty—and finally dismissive and mocking.

This person's face certainly displayed an impressive variety of emotions.

"Shimizu-kun, if the school discovers that I privately traded examination papers with a younger student, I'll probably be expelled."

"That's why you must keep this absolutely secret," Shiraki warned him.

"You truly are a wonderful senpai! You're willing to take such an enormous risk to give me these papers."

Chairman Sakayanagi, who had remained connected to Yuto through the video call, felt the corner of his mouth twitch.

Yuto was calling Shiraki a wonderful senpai to his face while secretly digging a grave beneath him.

"I'm not giving them to you. I'm selling them!" Shiraki corrected him.

"Ah, I already gave you an opportunity."

"If you had offered them for free, perhaps the offense wouldn't have been quite so serious," Yuto said with a sigh.

Those words gave Shiraki an ominous feeling.

Before he could ask what Yuto meant, Yuto turned the phone in his hand toward him.

Through the screen, Shiraki saw a dignified elderly man with white hair.

Huh?

Why did this man look familiar?

Where had he seen him before?

As those questions appeared in Shiraki's mind, Yuto smiled pleasantly.

"Chairman, this senpai intended to sell me private examination papers for one hundred eighty thousand points."

"Would the school punish him with expulsion?"

Shiraki's pupils suddenly contracted.

The chairman?!

What the hell? He really was the chairman!

Shiraki finally remembered where he had seen the white-haired man.

During the entrance ceremony, Sakayanagi had delivered a speech as one of the school's senior administrators.

Inside the chairman's office, Sakayanagi looked sternly at the pale Shiraki.

"Privately selling midterm examination papers for one hundred eighty thousand points is an extremely serious offense."

"The school would certainly impose severe disciplinary action."

Shiraki's legs immediately gave out.

He collapsed onto the ground, his face pale and his eyes filled with terror and despair.

It was over.

He was going to be expelled!

Since Shiraki had fallen, Yuto had no choice but to crouch so that he could continue speaking with Sakayanagi through the video call.

"Good senpai, why did you suddenly sit down? Are your legs tired?"

"You should've told me. We could have found a bench and continued our conversation there," Yuto said with a cheerful smile.

Shiraki stared at Yuto's handsome, refreshingly smiling face as overwhelming terror and despair filled his heart.

This demon...

He truly was a demon!

"The rumors weren't wrong!" Shiraki suddenly screamed hysterically.

"What?"

Both Yuto and Sakayanagi were confused.

What rumors was he talking about?

"Everyone's description of you was completely accurate, Shimizu Yuto!"

"You really are a terrifying, cold-blooded, and ruthless demon!"

Shiraki had merely tried to sell him forged papers.

Yet Yuto intended to have him expelled!

What else could someone like that be except a demon?

Yuto's handsome face instantly darkened.

Inside the chairman's office, Sakayanagi's mouth twitched as he struggled not to laugh.

In his opinion, the description was fair, accurate, and remarkably precise.

Whenever Yuto crushed him during shogi, Sakayanagi also felt that the boy was a genuine demon.

Yuto glanced at Shiraki, who was nearly suffering an emotional breakdown.

"Are you finished, good senpai?"

"If so, you should begin packing your belongings and prepare to leave the school."

"No!" Shiraki hurriedly shouted toward Sakayanagi on the screen.

"Chairman, you can't simply expel me!"

"Then explain why I shouldn't," Sakayanagi replied with imposing dignity.

"Because this school permits students to buy and sell examination papers privately!"

"Besides, transactions like the one I offered Shimizu Yuto aren't unusual here. Countless students have done the same thing!" Shiraki desperately argued.

He was attempting to defend himself by claiming that too many people had committed the offense for the school to punish everyone.

"That argument is incorrect," Yuto said with a smile.

"It's like claiming that robbing a bank isn't a crime because the bank never specifically reminded you not to rob it."

"Not robbing banks is common sense!"

"Then isn't it also common sense that you shouldn't sell midterm examination papers to other students?"

"..."

Shiraki fell silent.

He had no way to refute that.

Seeing despair gradually appear on Shiraki's face, Yuto decided that the time had arrived.

"However, if someone else ordered you to commit the offense, then your responsibility wouldn't be quite as severe."

"After all, you would merely be an accomplice. The true mastermind would be someone else."

Yuto's words flashed through Shiraki's mind like lightning.

It felt as though he had suddenly grasped the only rope capable of saving his life.

"I was ordered to do it!" Shiraki shouted in panic.

"Everything was arranged by Nagumo Miyabi of Class 2-A!"

Having obtained the answer he wanted, Yuto smiled.

"Then let's visit the student council."

"You can explain everything that happened from beginning to end."

"Okay!"

"Old man—Ahem, Chairman, you'll attend the student council hearing as a witness, correct?" Yuto asked Sakayanagi through the screen.

Sakayanagi glanced at him before nodding.

"Of course."

"Then we'll meet at the student council office."

Yuto ended the video call and stood. He extended his hand toward Shiraki, who was still sitting on the ground.

"Let me help you up, good senpai."

"Stop calling me a good senpai!"

Shiraki screamed as though a venomous snake had bitten him.

He did not dare touch Yuto's hand and hurriedly struggled to his feet by himself.

Yuto stared speechlessly at Shiraki, who was avoiding him like a deadly creature.

Was he really so frightening?

Did Shiraki need to be this terrified?

This senpai was truly being unreasonable.

...

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The fixed telephone inside the teachers' office began ringing.

Chabashira looked curiously at the phone on her desk.

Why was the school contacting her now?

Every homeroom teacher had a fixed telephone on their desk. Under normal circumstances, the administration used those phones to contact them.

During holidays, the school called their mobile phones instead.

Chabashira lifted the receiver and heard the sweet voice of Student Council Secretary Tachibana Akane.

More than ten seconds later, she returned the receiver and stood.

Hoshinomiya poked her head out and curiously watched Chabashira prepare to leave.

"Sae-chan, why did the school call you?"

"They didn't explain. They only instructed me to report to the student council office immediately," Chabashira answered casually.

"Is that so?"

Hoshinomiya blinked before displaying a teasing smile.

"Could your precious Shimizu-chan have caused trouble again?"

Chabashira glanced at Hoshinomiya's brilliant smile.

Had they not been standing so far apart, she would have struck her directly on the forehead.

Who was her precious student?!

Couldn't Hoshinomiya replace "precious student" with "troublesome student"?

Ignoring Hoshinomiya, Chabashira headed toward the student council office.

At the same time, Yuto and Shiraki were also making their way there.

Shiraki walked unsteadily, as though his soul had abandoned his body.

Yuto was entirely different.

His excellent mood made his smile appear even more handsome, attracting repeated glances from the upperclasswomen they passed.

By now, Shiraki had recovered somewhat from his earlier despair.

He watched Yuto from a cautious distance of two meters with a complicated expression.

"Shimizu Yuto, I'm curious. How did you know Nagumo ordered me to sell you the papers?"

"A beautiful but troublesome upperclasswoman told me that you were one of Nagumo's lackeys," Yuto answered casually.

Who had said that?!

That was clearly slander...

Actually, perhaps it was not slander. Shiraki truly was one of Nagumo's lackeys.

"That alone was enough?" Shiraki still found it difficult to believe.

"There were other reasons," Yuto answered indifferently.

"You look extremely gloomy and suspicious, senpai. One glance made it obvious that you weren't a good person."

"So I assumed Nagumo had sent a villain like you to deceive me."

"..."

Shiraki's face twitched.

It was not his fault that he was unattractive!

Besides, did Shimizu Yuto have any right to call someone else a villain?

The darkest, most wicked, and most terrifying person in the entire school was clearly him!

...

Since the teachers' office was close to the student council building, Chabashira arrived before Yuto and Shiraki.

Someone else reached the building at almost the same time.

When Chabashira saw that person, her elegant brows furrowed almost imperceptibly.

She knew the woman.

In fact, the woman had once been one of her teachers.

Judging by Chabashira's immediate frown, their relationship appeared extremely poor.

Chabashira herself believed their relationship was merely unpleasant rather than terrible.

Had Hoshinomiya been present, she would certainly have mocked the woman for being old enough to enter a coffin.

'I should've dragged Chie here with me,' Chabashira thought silently.

Ninomiya Hozuki, the homeroom teacher of Class 2-A, also noticed the cold-faced Chabashira.

Although she was nearly sixty, Ninomiya spoke with a false smile.

"Well, if it isn't Chabashira. You're still as rude as ever."

"You don't even understand that students should greet their former teachers first."

"..."

Chabashira's expression became colder.

"Students should naturally greet teachers, but that depends on whether the teacher deserves such respect."

"Especially when dealing with a teacher who lacks professional ethics."

'This sharp-tongued brat!'

Ninomiya's face immediately darkened.

She mocked Chabashira in return.

"Someone qualified only to lead Class D dares lecture me about ethics?"

"Chabashira, speak to me about a teacher's qualifications only after the school permits you to lead Class A."

"You appear to misunderstand."

"Professional ethics refer to a teacher's morality and conduct, not their ability."

"Therefore, whether someone possesses ethics has nothing to do with the class they teach," Chabashira answered coldly.

"Also, it isn't that the school refuses to let me lead Class A."

"I simply choose to lead Class D."

"Hehehe. Are you still clinging to that ridiculous obsession?"

"You failed to lead your own class into Class A before graduation. Do you truly believe you can guide your students there now?" Ninomiya mocked.

"That is none of your concern."

"It's unfortunate that you aren't currently teaching Class 1-A. Otherwise, I would let you experience the sensation of falling from Class A yourself."

"You arrogant brat!"

Chabashira then noticed Yuto approaching.

She immediately abandoned Ninomiya and walked toward him.

With her aging legs, the furious Ninomiya could not chase after Chabashira to continue the argument.

Yuto looked curiously at the beautiful teacher approaching him with an expression as cold as ice.

Had someone angered her?

Chabashira stopped in front of him and immediately asked, "Why are you here, Shimizu?"

"Did the student council summon me because you caused some new trouble?"

"That's too cruel, Chabashira-sensei. I didn't do anything bad."

"I did something good, which is why the student council summoned us," Yuto complained before looking toward Shiraki.

"Isn't that right, good senpai?"
