Synopsis
(Even if you haven’t read the original work, it won’t affect your reading experience (¯︶¯*)) Fanfiction + Time Travel + Slice of Life + Personal Settings Multiple Female Leads, One-Time-Use System, Quiet, Slightly Introverted Protagonist, NOT an Invincible Main Character, Altered Plot with Significant Differences from Canon* A recent college graduate from Blue-White Star is unexpectedly transported into the world of High School DxD. Inheriting ancient Taoist traditions, he becomes the mysterious “Taoist Advisor” of the Occult Research Club at Kuoh Academy. Using talismans, formations, and Eastern mysticism, Shin Kagami introduces a completely different power system into the conflicts between Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels. Though calm, introverted, and far from invincible, he steadily grows stronger while protecting those around him. As battles and daily life intertwine, Shin Kagami gradually earns the trust—and affection—of Rias Gremory, Akeno Himejima, Asia Argento, and Koneko Toujou. Beneath the surface of this dangerous otherworld, he walks his own Taoist path at a steady pace, uncovering secrets tied to his destiny. This is a story where Taoist mysticism collides with demonic sorcery, where warmth exists alongside bloodshed, and where fate slowly unfolds through bonds, growth, and hard-earned love. ...... Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The End and the Beginning

(It's recommended not to use your brain while reading (((o(゚▽゚)o))). This is the brain storage area—don't worry, your brain won't disappear if you leave it here (:з」∠))

...

In June on Blue Star, the air was already thick with the sweltering heat of midsummer, yet it carried the unique wistfulness of graduation season—a mixture of anticipation and confusion.

Shin dragged a small suitcase as he stood at a bustling intersection, feeling somewhat dazed while staring at the blinding sunlight reflected off the glass curtain wall of the office building across the street.

Twenty-two years of hard study, and now graduation.

He had once thought that even if his future wasn't particularly bright, there would at least be several paths open to him.

Reality, however, was cruel. Most of the résumés he sent out sank without a trace, and the few replies he did receive eventually led nowhere.

An indescribable emptiness and uncertainty about the future hung over his heart like a thin layer of fog.

Like most people his age, he grew up normally, studied normally, and had a gentle, sunny personality.

Yet he was often quiet and introverted, preferring to immerse himself in music and books rather than social interactions.

Standing at this crossroads of life, he felt like a small boat that had lost its lighthouse, drifting aimlessly in a vast sea of people.

The traffic light turned green.

He took a deep breath, forcibly suppressed the chaotic thoughts in his mind, and pulled his suitcase onto the crosswalk.

The suitcase wheels scraped against the pavement, emitting a monotonous rattling sound.

Maybe I should go back to my hometown?

Although his parents were long gone, it was still a place where he could settle down.

Or should I grit my teeth and keep trying in this city?

His thoughts were tangled like hemp—impossible to sort out or cut through.

He completely failed to notice that on the opposite side of the intersection, a massive cargo truck—overloaded and out of control—was honking frantically as it barreled toward him with desperate, unstoppable momentum!

The piercing horn blasts and the screams of nearby pedestrians, like a belated alarm, finally shattered his contemplation.

Shin instinctively turned his head.

His pupils were instantly filled with the cold, expanding metal grille of the truck.

Time seemed to stretch infinitely—yet also compress into a single instant.

Fear? No time.

Thought? No time.

He couldn't even form a single clear idea.

"Bang—!"

A dull, massive impact echoed clearly through the street. Tires screeched violently against the pavement, followed by even louder gasps and screams.

Shin felt his body lift into the air. His vision spun wildly as an overwhelming wave of pain swept over him like a tsunami.

Then, in the very next second, it receded.

His consciousness felt as though it had been violently ripped out of its shell, plunging straight into boundless darkness.

Darkness.

Warmth.

Silence.

Is this… death?

After a brief—perhaps eternal—silence, a mechanical synthetic voice suddenly echoed within the dark sea of his consciousness.

It was cold, rigid, and utterly devoid of emotion—something that clearly did not belong to the natural world.

[Compatible Soul fluctuation detected… Soul strength meets standard… Survival obsession peak reached… Binding 'Myriad Worlds Survival Guarantee System'…]

[Binding successful. Welcome, Host Shin.]

His remaining consciousness was hazy, unable to comprehend the meaning of the words. He could only instinctively sense the strange feeling of being forcibly linked to something.

[Starting scan of current world coordinates… Scan complete. Judgment: Host's native world (Blue-White Star). Physical body completely damaged. Irreparable.]

[Activating emergency protocol: Soul extraction. Initiating random jump to adjacent high-energy world.]

[Jump target confirmed: High School DxD Universe.]

[Starting world-rule adaptability adjustment… Generating reasonable identity information for Host…]

[Identity generated: Shin, 18 years old. Sole descendant of an ancient Eastern cultivation family (now fallen).]

[Due to family decline and mediocre cultivation aptitude, Host transferred to the second year of the high school division at Private Kuoh Academy in Kuoh Town, seeking new opportunities and educational resources.]

[All enrollment procedures and household registration records have been seamlessly integrated into this world's underlying information layer.]

[Issuing initial survival materials: Local general currency—One Hundred Million Yuan exactly.]

[Funds have been deposited into an anonymous, unregistered Magic Bank Card. Card number and usage instructions have been injected into Host memory.]

[Initiating core survival knowledge infusion: basic Daoist canon, 'Talisman True Explanation: Elementary Volume,' overview of formations, Inner Elixir Breathing Technique (Essence Refining to Qi stage), 'Classic of Hundred Herbs and Elixirs: Basic Volume'… Infusing…]

"Argh—!"

A piercing pain—far deeper and more brutal than any physical injury—exploded inside his soul, as if his skull were being forcibly torn apart.

Countless obscure texts, diagrams, hand seals, breathing techniques, and medicinal formulas surged into his consciousness like a raging torrent, carving themselves violently into the deepest layers of his memory.

The pain was so intense that his soul consciousness nearly collapsed again.

After an unknown amount of time, the agony finally receded.

[Knowledge infusion complete. System energy nearly depleted. Final mission accomplished.]

[Warning: This System is a one-time survival guarantee tool only. It will not provide future missions, enhancements, or communication.]

[All future survival and development are solely the Host's responsibility.]

[We wish you good fortune, Host Shin. May you achieve… Eternal Life.]

The cold mechanical voice vanished as abruptly as it had appeared.

The invisible connection sustaining his consciousness snapped completely.

Immediately afterward, he felt a powerful sensation of falling—as if plunging from ten thousand meters in the sky.

His consciousness sank like a pebble into a lake… then slowly resurfaced.

The first thing to return was his sense of touch.

Beneath him was the soft, unfamiliar feel of a bed, covered by a thin blanket.

Next came his sense of smell.

The air carried the faint scent of sun-dried cotton, mixed with a subtle freshness he had never encountered before—one that slightly invigorated his spirit just by breathing it in.

Finally, Shin slowly and laboriously opened his eyes.

What greeted him was a completely unfamiliar wooden ceiling—clean, tidy, and utterly different from anything he remembered.

He abruptly sat up, a wave of dizziness washing over him as he instinctively grabbed his forehead.

"Where… is this…?"

He looked down at his hands.

They were young, fair, and full of vitality—clearly defined knuckles, delicate skin.

These were not the hands he remembered, which had been roughened by years of holding pens and part-time work.

He touched his face. The sensation was equally youthful and smooth.

Throwing off the blanket, he rushed toward a vintage full-length mirror in the corner of the room.

The reflection staring back at him belonged to a boy of seventeen or eighteen.

His features vaguely resembled his early university years, but more refined. Soft black hair rested neatly against his head, and his eyes—still filled with confusion and shock—shone with a rare cleanliness and vitality.

"I… got younger?"

He murmured in disbelief.

Even his voice had changed—clear and youthful, the tone he hadn't heard since before his voice fully settled during puberty.

This was not a dream.

The pain of the collision, the cold system voice, the soul-rending knowledge infusion—everything was far too real.

He had transmigrated.

The System was real.

High School DxD…

Wasn't that one of the anime he'd watched back in college?

That absurdly dangerous world filled with Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, Dragons, and terrifying God-Slaying Sacred Gears?!

Shock and disbelief crashed into him, forcing him to stagger back against the wall.

He forced himself to calm down and took a deep breath.

Right—the System left things behind.

Closing his eyes, he focused and recalled.

Soon, an image surfaced in his mind: a black card inlaid with subtle silver magic patterns, along with its usage instructions—confirmation by thought, no password required.

Card balance: 100,000,000.

A full one hundred million yuan.

The local currency of this world.

Following that came a far more massive influx of information.

Cultivation. Talismans. Formations. Medicinal pills.

The basic Daoist canon explained fundamental Daoist philosophy, the structure of the universe, and the theories of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements.

Talisman True Explanation: Elementary Volume detailed dozens of basic talismans—Peace Talismans, Cleanse Talismans, Exorcism Talismans, even Minor Fireball Talismans.

The overview of formations introduced Spirit Gathering Formations and Breath Concealment Formations.

The Inner Elixir Breathing Technique taught the most basic Essence Refining to Qi method, guiding one to sense and absorb Spiritual Qi into the Dantian.

The Classic of Hundred Herbs and Elixirs: Basic Volume covered hundreds of medicinal plants and the refinement of simple pills like Jinchuang Medicine and Qi Recovery Powder.

All of it felt innate—deeply engraved and ready to be used.

Finally came his new identity.

Shin. Eighteen years old. Descendant of a fallen Eastern cultivation family. Transfer student entering the second year at Kuoh Academy.

The admission notice and identification documents were resting quietly on the desk.

He walked over and examined them carefully.

Everything was flawless—the dates, seals, and formatting were perfect.

The identity crafted by the System was seamless.

Opening the window, he let in the morning air.

A cool breeze rushed inside, and that unfamiliar freshness became even more pronounced.

"Is this… Spiritual Qi?"

Subconsciously, he followed the breathing method.

A faint yet undeniable warm current entered his body and slowly settled into his lower Dantian.

It was thinner and wilder than the ideal Spiritual Qi described in the texts—but it worked.

At that moment, after the shock finally settled, complex emotions flooded his heart.

Fear of the unknown world.

Farewell to his past life.

Relief at surviving death.

And above all—

A brand-new, unpredictable possibility.

The System had given him a second life, an identity, immense starting capital, and a Daoist cultivation foundation utterly incompatible with this world—yet brimming with terrifying potential.

Then it had heartlessly thrown him into this dangerous yet vibrant world and vanished.

The objective was simple.

Survive.

Shin gazed at the unfamiliar street outside the window.

In the distance, a cluster of Western-style school buildings with a prominent clock tower stood tall.

Kuoh Academy.

Sunlight warmed his face.

He took a deep breath, the Spiritual Qi of this world slowly calming the chaos in his heart.

The hesitation that once followed his college graduation was gone.

In its place was a far more urgent, far more dangerous question—

In a high school world where Devils, Angels, and Dragons roam freely, how should an outsider carrying a Daoist legacy survive?

His Dao Path quietly began in this realm.
