Chapter 6: An Assurance of Love

Yinyin had finally been brought back home.

In their bedroom, she lay on the bed, still sore but not in unbearable pain. Jinye walked in quietly, holding a tray of food. "I figured you might be hungry," he said with a gentle smile.

Yin's cheeks flushed. "Young master, you don't have to do this..." she murmured, lowering her gaze.

"You're my wife, Yin. I have to take care of you. And besides… it's partly my fault," he replied, sitting beside her and unfolding the tray stand.

"If you insist, then…" she mumbled shyly.

He began to set the tray before her, placing it with care. "Thank you," she said as she reached for the food, but he stopped her hand gently.

She blinked in confusion.

"I'll feed you," he said softly.

Her mind reeled. Was this really the same Dong Jinye? The almighty heir to the Dong family personally offering to feed her? Her heart pounded.

"Open up," he coaxed, and she obediently parted her lips, mindful of her swollen cheek.

"I'm sorry you had to go through all of this," he said suddenly.

"It's okay, Second Mas—"

Before she could finish, he leaned forward and pressed a tender kiss on her lips.

"Young—"

Another kiss silenced her.

"I thought we agreed you'd stop calling me 'young master'," he murmured, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear.

"I—I am—" she stuttered, but he kissed her again before she could finish.

"And what did I tell you about apologizing?" he asked. She blushed and quickly covered her face with both hands.

He chuckled. "I want to see you… I mean, your face," he said, voice slightly trembling.

She slowly removed her hands. "So pretty," he said softly, then continued to feed her with care.

Two Weeks Later

Yin had fully recovered—and under Jinye's constant persuasion, she submitted her resignation letter. He didn't want her working anymore. It was a decision she hesitated over, but ultimately agreed to.

At Home – A Moment Alone

After her shower, Yin walked out in nothing but a tiny towel that barely covered her thighs. The house was quiet, and thinking she was alone, she decided to let loose. She picked up her hair dryer like a mic and began to sing, dancing seductively around the room.

She didn't realize when two strong arms wrapped around her waist.

She froze.

"H-Husband?" she gasped.

"So alluring…" his deep, husky voice sent shivers down her spine. He was giving her that voice—the one that made her body tingle.

"Y-You're back… early," she stammered.

"Yes, baby," he whispered, nuzzling her neck.

Her body began to burn with heat. Why was this man the definition of aphrodisiac himself?

"Am I affecting you?" he teased.

She didn't reply. She just clung to him.

"Please don't do that…" she whispered.

He trailed kisses down to her collarbone but stopped at her chest. "Don't worry, baby. I won't go further… unless you want me to."

His voice was tender, and his embrace firm. She could feel the tension in his body—and his arousal. She was wet already, her legs trembling.

"Should I stop?" he asked.

"N-No…"

He carried her to the bed and laid her down with such care that her heart skipped a beat. He began tracing the soft skin of her thighs, his touch light and teasing, moving upward until—

"Ah…" she moaned as his fingers slid across her wetness.

"Do you like this?" he asked, as his fingers slowly slipped inside.

"Mmnnn…" she moaned louder, her hips moving to his rhythm. "Please, husband…"

He pulled his fingers out and brought her up to straddle him.

"Take what you want, baby," he said, guiding her hands to him.

She began stroking him gently, shy yet curious.

"You're good at that," he whispered.

RING… RING…

A sudden phone call broke the moment.

"Ugh… Who the hell is calling now?" Jinye muttered, reaching for the phone. "It's Dad. Should I pick up?"

Yin tried to mask her disappointment with a smile. "He's your dad… and also my father-in-law. It would be disrespectful if you didn't."

He picked up. Whatever Mr. Dong said, it drained all warmth from Jinye's expression. He left the room without a word.

Worried, Yin threw on a baggy shirt and shorts, her damp hair in a messy bun. She ran downstairs and saw him sitting on the couch—cold and distant.

"Do you… want to talk to me?" she asked softly.

He didn't say anything at first, but when she walked up and hugged him, he froze—then hugged her back.

"No matter what happens, I'll still be with you… unless you ask me to leave," she whispered.

He kissed the top of her head. "Is that a promise?" he asked, voice cracking slightly.

"No… it's an assurance."

"Thank you," he said, holding her tighter.

"I'm here. Just let me hold you," she said softly.

There was a silence, then…

"Dad wants us to divorce."

She held him tighter.

"He found out about Zhilli… and he said he doesn't want a 'moralless' daughter-in-law."

"Am I all that to you?" she asked, quietly.

"No. Never. In fact, you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

She smiled faintly. "Then I won't mind what he says."

He was stunned by her words… but her kiss on his cheek washed away all doubt.
