Chapter 6 - Traking the unknown

As they approached the pedestal, Ethan glanced at Alex. "Before we do anything else… we're still missing a few members."

Alex nodded. "You're right. We should find more people to join our team before heading further."

Ethan's eyes sparkled mischievously. "Hmmm… I think I know someone."

They navigated the hallways and soon spotted a small boy nervously peeking from behind a pile of crates. His hands trembled slightly, and his wide eyes darted around, clearly afraid of being seen.

Ethan crouched down, smiling warmly. "Hey there… old buddy! Want to join this boring group of ours?"

The boy flinched, stammering, "I… I… don't know…"

Ethan leaned closer, a grin on his face. "Remember when I helped you before? You said you'd do anything I asked. Well… this is your chance."

The boy hesitated, biting his lip, but finally nodded. "O-okay… I… I'll try…"

Kaelor, standing nearby with his staff, gave a playful chuckle. "Ah, a timid little one! Delightful. Don't worry, kid adventure is far more fun when it scares you half to death."

Alex smiled gently. "Welcome to the team, Liam. You don't need to be brave all the time just stick with us."

Vile, leaning against the wall as always, raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly can you do?"

Liam swallowed hard, fidgeting with his hands. "I… I'll… I'll do my best to help however I can."

Ethan clapped him on the shoulder. "That's the spirit! Don't worry, kid you'll find your courage… eventually."

With Liam joining, the team now felt slightly more complete. But before they could continue, a faint vibration echoed from deeper in the chamber. Dust fell from the ceiling, and the torches flickered.

Vile's eyes narrowed. "Something's coming."

Alex tensed. "We need to be ready."

Kaelor twirled his staff with a playful smirk. "Ah… the world never ceases to challenge us. Come now, team we'll face it together."

A slow, deliberate footstep echoed from the distance, signaling that the next challenge was already on their path.

Kira's hand moved to her blade. "Seems we're not alone."

Alex clenched his fists. Their mission had just gotten a lot more dangerous but with their new ally, maybe they had a chance.
